Chapter 1560
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1560
Sherry lost the mood to argue with John. She quickly carried the girl into her arms and consoled her. âIâm sorry, Caprice. Mommy
was loud, wasnât |? Did | scare you?â
Caprice nodded pitifully.
Sherry stroked her cheeks and said softly, âMommy was being loud at Daddy, not you. But | promise you | wonât speak so loudly
in front of you anymore.â
Caprice pouted and nodded. âMommy, donât be loud to Daddy too.â
Sherry had no resistance to the girlâs adorable voice, especially when she was her precious daughter. She nodded and said,
âAlright. Mommy won't be loud to Daddy anymore.â
It was impossible for her not to be angry with John, but at least she had to keep her temper from Caprice.
Caprice finally regained her composure after getting her motherâs assurance.
Sherry picked up the spoon and continued feeding her. She had a glance at John and saw the man smiling mischievously. It was
as though he was challenging her to be loud at him in front of their daughter again.
After breakfast, Sherry hitched a ride in Johnâs car to go to the studio while he brought Caprice back to his office.
The time for the contract signing was 2 oâclock in the afternoon.
Sherry had a conference call with the other executives from the Sagers before she handed her subordinates the contract for
proofreading.
The morning went by in the blink of an eye.
Her subordinate ordered takeaway for her during lunch.
While munching on her burrito wrap, she texted John, âMaster Stockton, the
documents are ready.â
John replied after a few minutes, âMm-hmm. Have you eaten?â
âI'm eating now.â
âWhat are you eating?â
Sherry frowned. Why would the man be interested in her lunch?
âSome takeaway fast food.â
âWhat takeaway fast food?â
Sherryâs lips twitched helplessly. She then took a picture of her half-eaten burrito wrap and sent it to him.
John also replied with a picture from his side. He was having lunch with Caprice. On the table was a kidâs meal and his own,
which looked exquisite on its own.
Sherry originally thought having a burrito wrap was sufficient for lunch, but when she had a look at Johnâs lunch, her meal
suddenly seemed tiny and pitiful.
John asked, âDo you always have this kind of food?â
Sherry answered in annoyance, âYeah. Iâm not as rich as you, Master Stockton.â
âOh, | see... But | am having lunch at the office canteen.â
Since when did Johnâs office canteen serve a feast for lunch?
âOur canteen chefs are renowned culinarians hired from different cities, and each of them is astounding on their own.â
Sherry pursed her lips and sent him a speechless emoji.
âWhy donât you consider joining my company?â
She was rather surprised.
John added, âI will provide you with the same position that you hold at the Sagers, and you will get twice as much as what you
are getting right now.â
Sherryâs brows tightened. She replied, âMaster Stockton, please do not joke with me. Itâs not funny.â
âI'm not joking. You can think about it and give me your answer in a few days.â
Sherry never planned to settle down in Glenchester, let alone work at Johnâs company. She put her phone down without replying,
but she lost her appetite to finish her burrito wrap as well.
After lunch and a short break, Sherry and her subordinates brought the documents to Johnâs office.
The receptionist at the lobby recognized Sherry, so she greeted her with a
3/3
welcoming smile. âMs. Flower, welcome.â
Sherry said, âWe are here for the contract signing.â
âMaster Stockton has already informed me. This way, please.â The receptionist then brought them to the main meeting room.
