Chapter 1744
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1744
When they arrived at Sherryâs apartment, Caprice was already dead asleep.
After Sherry got out of the car, she carried Caprice into her arms and threw a gaze at John.
âYou can go now.â
John stood by the car and leaned against it lazily. The moonlightâs reflection shone from his glasses as he smiled bewitchingly.
âGoodnight.â
Sherry ignored him. She carried Caprice into the apartment without looking back.
The night was quiet.
After Sherry entered her apartment and turned on the living room lights, the manâs slender figure remained by the car with no
intention of leaving.
However, he pulled his attention away from the window and looked to his left. There was a garden on the left of the apartment,
and there was a fake mountain decoration by the side.
In the shadow cast by the fake mountain was a slender figure.
Carl was aware that John noticed him, so he came out from the shadows.
âYoung Master Carl, what are you doing here?â John asked with a smile.
Carl's eyes flickered. He said, âI live around here. Iâm on a stroll after dinner.â
âOh, | see. So, you have a habit of strolling after dinner.â
The garden was not a park where everyone could have a stroll. It was just a small garden for flowers, and no trespassing was
allowed.
Carl pursed his lips. He smiled and said, âMaster Stockton. | heard Sherry telling you to go back. Why are you still here?â
John smiled. âYou're still here. How could |, her husband, leave?â
Carl's lips twitched helplessly. âYou imprisoned her, tortured her, and she almost died in the fire because of you. If | were you, |
wouldn't have the guts or the face to claim that Iâm her husband.â John looked disheartened.
Carl scoffed. âYou can go back now. From today onwards, | will protect Sherry from danger, and that includes you.â
He had already hired bodyguards and stationed them around Sherryâs apartment, so he planned to stay guard for a while starting
today. He did not want Ron and his goons to harm Sherry anymore. John went silent for a moment. He then asked, âDid you
save her from the fire?â
Carl did not expect the question. Surprised, he asked, âThat's right. | dug a hole and brought Sherry out.â
âThank you,â John said.
Carl was stunned.
John looked extremely sincere. âThank you for saving her.â
Carl flickered his eyes nervously and gulped. âDonât need to thank me. | saved her because | want to save her from you.â
John did not reply.
Carl raised a brow. He added, âGo back. I'll protect Sherry from now on. Stop disturbing her anymore.â
John curled his lips. âShe's still legally my wife.â
Carl's expression changed. âSo what?â
John smiled. âShe will never divorce me, and you cannot be with her.â
Carl looked disheartened. âMaster Stockton, | wouldnât be so sure if | were you.â
John simply laughed it off. He did not reply to Carlâs words. Instead, he switched topics and said, â Thereâs only one way to stop
Ron Wright from hurting her again.â
Carl was surprised. âHow?â
âDefeat him, and throw him out of the company and the Sagers.â
Carl frowned. He also knew it was the best way, but he and his mother had been trying for years with little results.
