Chapter 1769
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1769
Suddenly, his phone rang.
It was Jason.
John answered it and put it next to his ear. âWhat is it?â
Jason said, âSir, Ada Wright and Carl Sager got into a big argument in front of the Sagersâ office this morning. Sheâs trying to be
with Carl but got rejected in front of a crowd. Madam was there when that happened, but she watched from a corner. Ada spotted
her and shouted at her, but she ignored her and left.â
John went silent for a moment. âAda Wright? Ron Wright's niece?â
âYes. You ordered us to keep an eye out for Ron Wright's movements, and we spotted Ada being thrown out of the mansion by
Ronâs new wife. Ron did not even try to hold her back. She stayed in a five-star hotel for a night and went straight to Carl this
morning.
Ada was Ronâs niece. Now that Ron was evicted from the Sagers, Ada would follow as well.
Ronâs new wife, Willow, had evicted her from their new mansion, and she stayed in a five-star hotel for a night. It seemed like
she could not leave her luxurious and lavish life behind, thus she hassled Carl in the morning.
Now that Carl rejected her, would she simply step away from all this?
Nevertheless, she was just a spoiled girl under Ronâs care before. No matter how aggrieved she was, she could not possibly do
anything.
âMm-hmm. Keep watching them,â John said.
âYes, sir.â
After the call, John turned to Caprice.
Caprice was already dozing off after playing with her new toys; Aunt Wanda was watching her from the side.
John smiled as he walked over.
âDaddy...â Caprice could barely keep her eyes open yet she reached out to him with her tiny hands.
John carried the girl into his arms and comforted her, âDaddy's here. Sleep if you are tired.â
Caprice leaned on his shoulder and fell asleep soon enough.
The apartment returned to peace and quiet.
John paced around the house with the sleeping Caprice for a while. After a while, he put her into the room and tucked her in.
He then said to Aunt Wanda, âIâm going out. If Caprice wakes up and Iâm not back, tell her I'll be back with her Mommy.â
Aunt Wanda said with a smile, âI understand.â
John went out.
The weather was great for a stroll by the beach. He walked past a florist and bought a fresh bouquet of roses before he took a
ride to the Sagersâ office.
The sky was already dark when Sherry finished work. She stayed back for an extra half an hour just to tidy up everything.
Thinking about Caprice back at home, she walked out of the office and headed to the elevator. When she arrived on the first
floor, the door opened and Sherry walked out.
Coincidentally, she ran into Carl, who was walking towards her from the other side in a handsome suit. He had buttoned his
collar properly and shoved the usual rose from the chest away, making him look more professional than a playboy.
He smiled at Sherry. âSis, are you going home?â
Sherry hummed a reply.
Carl walked up to her. âIâm done as well. I'll drive you home.â
Sherry immediately said, âItâs okay. My car is just outside.â
Gossip in the office said that she tried to tempt him, so there was no way she would let him drive her back, even if she did not
drive.
Disheartened, Carlâs eyes flickered. He forced a smile on his face and said, âOkayâ
Sherry walked past him and headed to the door.
Carl followed her from a distance, but he only followed her to the entrance Standing in front of the glass door, he looked towards
the parking lot and scoffed scornfully.
