Chapter 1782
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1782
Lisa traced a motherly smile on her lips and greeted Caprice lovingly, âHey!â
She made to approach Caprice after greeting her but quickly halted when she noticed Madam Stockton sitting next to Caprice.
Sherry aptly rose from her seat and approached them.
She went up to Lisa and made the introductions. âAunt Lisa, this is Johnâs mother, and thatâs Johnâs sister, Queenie.â
Then, she turned to Madam Stockton and Queenie. âMadam Stockton, Queenie, Aunt Lisa is the chairman of Sager Corporation
and also Carl's mother.â
Both Madam Stockton and Queenie rose and greeted her politely.
âSo, you are the infamous Madam Sager, itâs good to see you.â Madam Stockton held her manners about her.
Lisa responded kindly, âGood to see you as well, Madam Stockton.â
Queenie greeted her politely as well, âHello, Madam Sager.â
Lisa was very courteous. âHello there, Queenie.â
âPlease, sit down.â Madam Stockton motioned.
Lisa nodded and approached Caprice.
As soon as she drew near to Caprice, she wrapped her arms tightly around the child and began smothering her with kisses.
âCaprice, Grandma misses you so much!â
Caprice giggled and planted a big kiss on Lisaâs cheeks as well as she was overjoyed to see Lisa. Madam Stockton grimaced
faintly, a bitter look of jealousy rose beneath the surface.
Caprice had never kissed her like this.
Queenie was just as startled by the sight of Caprice acting so friendly with Madam Sager. She did not expect the infamous
Madam Sager to turn out to be such a kindly old lady.
Lisa must have sensed the faint turbulence in the air as well. After teasing Caprice a little while longer, she promptly put the child
down. Then, she turned to Madam Stockton and Queenie. âPlease, sit, donât worry about me.â
Madam Stockton was very civil. âCome sit with us.â
âUnfortunately, | still have some business to deal with. | just happened to be in the area so | figured Iâd swing by for a quick visit. |
have to leave soon,â Lisa remarked as she approached Sherry.
She passed a bag to Sherry. âSherry, | went shopping with some friends last night and bought you some outfits that | think youâd
like. | also put some vitamin supplements inside the bag. You're going to need them since you haven't had much rest lately, you
look pale.â
Sherry smiled and thanked her kindly, âI got it, Aunt Lisa. Go on, you have work to do.â
âWhat's the rush? Iâm not done here yet.â Lisa signaled a look at her assistant.
The assistant took the hint and promptly placed a large fruit basket on the table next to Johnâs bed. Then, she reached into the
basket and produced a large plastic bag from inside.
Lisa announced proudly, âI had a friend who runs a toy factory to pick out some toys for me. If Caprice likes these toys, you know
who to call. I'll get more for her.â
Sherry smiled and thanked her, âAlright, thank you.â
Lisa gently patted her on the shoulder. âMake sure you take care of yourself, call me if you need anything.â
âOK.â
With that, Lisa turned and prepared to leave.
Before she was out the door, she turned to Madam Stockton and Queenie and acknowledged them with a smile. Then she
turned to John who was laying on the bed. âMaster Stockton, Iâll be leaving for now, see you.â
John smiled graciously. âI'll see you, Madam Sager.â
Lisa walked out.
Her assistant promptly followed her.
Sherry was already used to Madam Sagerâs eccentricity and did not think much of it. John had grown accustomed to the madam
over the last two days as well.
It was Madam Stockton and Queenie who seemed caught in a daze, still reeling back from the bizarre character they had
witnessed.
After a while, Queenie approached Sherry and asked, âSherry, has Madam Sager always been so friendly with you?â
Sherry was unpacking the bag of toys for Caprice and briefly nodded in response, it did not seem peculiar to her at all.
Queenie smiled and remarked, âShe's very kind.â
Sherry smiled and made no comments.
Lisa had always been very genuine and had a personality that lit up the room.
Ever since they became acquainted, Lisa had always doted on her. They grew even closer after Sherry had proved her worth
and managed to help Sager Corporation out of countless crises, further cementing their relationship.
What Sherry took away from her relationship with Lisa was a level of appreciation for mutual trust with an elder.
However, not everyone had such a favorable impression of Lisa.
