Chapter 1785
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1785
John propped up the laptop on his lap and put on his glasses. He fixed a sharp, focused look onto the
screen.
Sherry finally allowed herself to lower her guard.
It did seem like all he wanted was just her presence on the bed with him, he was not up to anything perverted.
It was late into the night by this point.
The rhythmical rattle of his fingers tapping against the keyboard had a certain hypnotizing tone to it. Soon, Sherry closed her
eyes and drifted into sleep.
Amid her sleep, she rolled over on her back so she was no longer facing away from John. Soon, she rolled over again and lay
facing him.
The desk lamp provided a soft and indirect glow to her face.
John tilted to his side and quietly gazed at her sleeping face. He smiled.
He picked up his pace of work to wrap things up as soon as possible.
Before long, he shut the laptop with a quiet thud and put it aside. Then, he turned off the lamp and slid into bed.
He slowly edged to Sherryâs side and gently wrapped his arms around her, finally closing his eyes.
Meanwhile, Madam Stockton and Queenie have brought Caprice to the hotel.
It was a reputable five-star hotel located along the coast.
They were given the best room available.
The room offered a stupendous view and was furnished with the finest furniture, its entire presentation. seemed like something
out of a magazine. It was the most premium hotel experience money could buy.
Although they have had their fair share of stays in luxury hotels, this was the first time they stayed in a hotel located by the sea.
They were aware that Sherry had reserved the room for them before they even arrived at Coastrock.
Although Sherry held a high position in Sager Corporation, her net worth was nowhere close to Johnâs.
They were initially going to reserve a hotel on their own, but Sherry went above and beyond and got one. of the best hotels
available in the city for them, even making a point of giving them a deluxe room.
They were appalled by her generosity.
Queenie turned to Jason who escorted them to the hotel. âJason, are you sure this is the room Sherry got for us?â
Jason assured her. âYes, this is the arrangement Mrs. Sherry made. | didnât know that she had reserved this place either. | donât
think even Master Stockton knows about this.â
Queenie was intrigued by this. She turned to Madam Stockton and gave her a look.
Madam Stockton smiled at her.
There were three rooms in the suite.
Madam Stockton turned to Jason who was just about to leave and proposed, âJason, why donât you stay here too? I'll share a
room with Queenie and Caprice, you and Wanda can use the other two rooms.â
Jason stuttered for a moment, âMaâam, | donât think-Mrs. Sherry has already reserved a room for me.â
âCancel the reservation.â Madam Stockton would not have it. âIt's decided.â
After that, she took Queenie to the master bedroom with her.
Caprice had dozed off on the way here and was now sleeping soundly in Queenieâs arms.
Madam Stockton wanted to take her, but her arms had grown stiff from carrying her earlier.
After Queenie put Caprice on the bed, Madam Stockton carefully sat on the bed next to Caprice and hugged her adoringly.
Queenie also sat on the bed and watched them.
She observed her motherâs soft and content expression, then she asked with a faint smile, âMom, you must feel relieved now.â
Madam Stockton smiled faintly. âYes, Iâm glad you could make up with your brother.â
She was also glad that Sherry did not hold grudges against her.
She understood that Sherry still felt rather awkward with her, but the gesture of providing such fine accommodation for them was
a sign of her goodwill.
She reflected that she was too closeâminded and outright terrible in the past.
Queenie remarked, âI wasnât expecting her to have such a good relationship with Madam Sager. If | was an outsider, I'd have
thought that they were mother and daughter.â
Madam Stockton agreed with a faint nod. âYes.â
Compared to Sherryâs biological parents, Lisa seemed more like her family.
