Chapter 1837
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1837
Caprice grinned. âAlright.â
Madam Stockton was pleased with her response. She motioned and said, âCome on, your parents
are home as well, theyâre waiting for you.â
Caprice got into the shuttle car with her.
Several minutes later, they stopped at John and Sherryâs courtyard.
She got out of the car with Madam Stockton.
âDarling...â
She had barely stepped into the when a figure came flying towards her. She felt a pair of arms wrapped tightly around her and
kisses were planted on her cheeks.
She groaned playfully, âMom, Iâm nineteen years old.â
The beautiful lady who seemed unfathomably young despite her age and was showering her with passionate affection was none
other than Sherry.
Upon noticing Capriceâs reaction, she pinched her chubby cheeks and stated, âCaprice, Iâm your mother. | donât care if youâre in
your sixties. You're still going to be my darling daughter, and Iâm still going to kiss you, got it?â
Caprice chuckled. âGot it.â
Sherry let go of her and ruffled her hair. Then, she looked around before asking, âWhy are you alone? Where's Liam?â
Madam Stockton asked in a puzzled voice, âLiam? Do you mean Young Master Carter?â
Sherry gave her a nod and turned to Caprice, hoping for an answer.
John had shown up as well. He stood next to Sherry and looked tenderly at their daughter.
Caprice answered frankly, âHeâs gone.â
âWhy did he leave?â Sherry was puzzled. âDidnât you invite him to come in?â
Caprice explained, âHe said he was coming here on a business trip, so he could give me a ride. | didnât want to take his time.â
Sherry pinched her cheeks again. âYou silly girl, so what if heâs on a business trip? You should at least invite him to join us
instead of letting him walk away!â
She was aware that her daughter had feelings for Liam. Since he had been so nice to send her home, she should at least invite
him into the house as a token of appreciation, and it was also a chance for them to spend time together.
Caprice lowered her head to the ground, âAlright, Iâll do that next time.â
She wagered that Liam would refuse anyway. He had formal business to attend to as well as a girlfriend.
Sherry looked like she had something more to say about the matter but was interrupted by John.
John pulled Sherry to his side and spoke to her in a low voice, âItâs alright, itâs no big deal. We've known him since he was a
child. He won't feel slighted just because of something minor like this.â
Then, he turned to Caprice again, âCaprice, you've been in the car for several hours. Why donât you go back to your room and
get some rest?â
âOkay,â Caprice said dryly before turning into the familiar courtyard and heading back to her room.
Madam Stockton and the housemaids who used to take care of her when she was a child followed after her.
After watching them leave, Sherry turned to John and asked cautiously, âDo you think thereâs something wrong with her?â
She was usually very attentive and friendly, and it was quite uncharacteristic of her to not invite Liam into the house.
John made a look and remarked, âSheâs not a child anymore. She knows what sheâs doing.â
âDo you think she had a falling out with Liam?â Sherry speculated.
John laughed and brushed it off. âWhat kind of falling out? Itâs not like theyâre in a relationship.â
âEven if theyâre not in a relationship, they're still good friends. Itâs not unheard of for friends to get into arguments.â
John did his best to convince her, âNo, Liam wouldnât argue with Caprice. | donât think heâs ever expressive enough to get into an
argument anyway.â
âLet me ask Caprice.â
âDon't. Let her rest for a while.â
Sherry suddenly grew annoyed and asked crossly, âDonât you want to see Caprice and Liam together in the future?â
Why was he being so obtuse?
