There was a brief, damning silence on the other end of the phone. Then, Liam’s calm voice rang out, “I need to know about this

friend of yours.”

Caprice told him everything, “His name is Trey Rockon. He’s the guy who drove me to your house last time His father is the

chairman of Rockon Technology, and his sister Piper is also a close. friend of mine.”

After she finished speaking, Liam did not respond. Her uneasiness increased the longer the silence lingered.

What if he did not want to help her because Heather was the successor of VV Entertainment?

Her voice wavered “Liam, why aren’t you saying anything?”

If Liam was not going to help her, she would have to contact her parents and ask them to contact Uncle Odell for her. One way or

Just as she was about to become agitated, Liam’s voice broke through the silence. “I just texted my assistant and told him to

investigate further. Are you free tomorrow?”

Caprice was relieved and quickly told him, “Yeah, | have time tomorrow.”

He announced stoutly. “Meet me tomorrow, and we'll talk about this in detail.”

Caprice was slightly skeptical.

What other details did he need? Hadn’t she told him everything already?

Then again, she had no qualms with meeting him especially since he was willing to help. With this in mind, she gave her word,

Caprice hung up with a faint smile hanging on her lips, then she went back to the dormitory.

Piper told her the moment she saw her, “Caprice, | managed to get in touch with my brother through a friend of his. Apparently,

he got drunk and is crashing at his friend’s place.”

Caprice breathed a sigh of relief, then she told her about her meeting with Liam tomorrow.

The mention of the good news significantly queiled Piper’s restlessness.

Caprice ordered some takeout for everyone and chatted with them for a while before everyone went to bed and settled in for the

night.

In Liam’s office in Carter Tech City, he was sitting at his desk with a stack of documents in his hand.

This was the information given to him by Mitch. It concerned the man who had been seen touching Caprice’s head a few days

ago.

The man’s name was written in bold print on the first line of the document: Trey Rockon.

Age: 25 years old.

Background Information: Young Master of Glanchester Rockon Technology.

His phone rang.

He put the phone to his ear and immediately asked, “Any news?”

Mitch began relaying his findings on the phone. “Yes, sir. VV Entertainment signed a contract with Rockon Technology three days

ago. Some insiders in the industry verified that it was VV Entertainment who set Rockon Technology up by adding a last-minute

clause in the contract. It states that if Rockon Technology cannot complete the project within three months, they will have to be

penalized a sum of ten billion dollars.”

Liam flipped through Trey’s profile: “Has there been any history of competition between VV Entertainment and Rockon

Technology?”

“None based on my findings. One of them is based primarily in Westchester and the other in Glanchester. There have never

been any past business dealings between the two parties.”

“Do they have any reason to have any personal grievances against each other?”

“It doesn’t look like it. The chairman of VV Entertainment only has one daughter, and that is Heather Manson. As for the

chairman of Rockon Technology, he has two children who spent their childhood in Glanchester, but “Mitch hesitated.

“Go on.”

Liam hung up and set the phone on the table. As he looked at the documents detailing Trey’s profile, his complexion darkened by

several shades.

Caprice was so desperate to help this man that she would come to him for help. Had she truly fallen in love with him?
