Chapter 1955
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 1955
âHeather, where have you been? I've been looking for you all night," Sophia said the moment she met her daughter. She then
noticed the redness on one side of her face which was also swollen and quickly grew alarmed. " What happened to your face?â
Heather could barely express herself as she was fuming with rage.
Being slapped by a third-rate actor like Isabel was the worst humiliation she had ever gone through in her life!
Upon noticing her silence, Sophia turned to Heather's friends, who were crowded behind her, and asked anxiously, âWhat
happened to her?"
They informed her, "Aunt Sophia, it was Isabel who hit her."
Caprice and Isabel took a detour to another washroom.
By the time they returned to the venue, it was just as rowdy as before, but there were noticeably more people now.
The dinner ceremony had not officially kicked off yet since all of the guests were yet to arrive.
Isabel led Caprice by her arm and stepped into the venue.
Caprice glanced around the venue aimlessly, only to immediately meet Heatherâs gaze that was filled with poison. She was
standing with another older lady who was casting the same hostile look at her.
She frowned and gently nudged Isabel. "Isabel, Heather is over there glaring at us."
Isabel turned to look in the direction Caprice gestured at and immediately met Heather's gaze. She audaciously cocked an
eyebrow in her direction.
This gesture was not going to hurt Heather in any way, but it sure did rub in the message.
Even from this distance, Caprice could make out the explosive rage boiling underneath Heather's eyes. She looked like she was
going to charge over like a raging bull any second.
She did a fine job composing herself, knowing that they were in public and she could not risk such a move.
Caprice was enjoying this. She turned to Isabel. "Isabel, you're so cool."
Heather and her sisters would have had their way with her if not for Isabel insisting on walking her to the washroom.
âOf course." Isabel smiled and gently pinched her face.
Meanwhile, Heather stood with Sophia, the pair of mother and daughter casting vehement looks in Caprice and Isabelâs
direction.
Sophia wanted nothing more than to punch Isabel's face, but she knew that this was not the right time for it.
She turned to Heather. "Heath, | already spoke to your father and told him to put Isabel in her place. Donât forget that our family
has a lot of connections in the entertainment circle. Since she has the guts to attack you, Iâm going to end her career. You'll see
tomorrow.â
Heather was relieved to hear this.
Sophia continued spying on Caprice who was following Isabel everywhere like a lapdog. She turned to Heather and asked, "Why
did she come with Isabel? Where is President Carter?"
Heather scoffed contemptuously, "He's probably occupied with something more important. Isabel is one of the ambassadors of
Carter Tech City and is close friends with him and Caprice. If | had to guess, she's here to rope in some rich men to leech off
their wealth."
"As for Caprice, she's probably upset because of what | said to her last time. Thatâs why she came here with Isabel to prove a
point to me."
Sophia sneered upon hearing this. She suddenly turned to Heather. "I have an idea. | need you to pry Isabel away for just a
moment. I'll take care of Caprice."
Heather asked excitedly, "What's your plan?"
Sophia smiled, a mysterious smirk hanging on her lips. "Make sure you do it right. I'll make sure Caprice gets humiliated to the
point where she doesn't dare to show her face around here again. Even President Carter will want to dump her after this!"
This further piqued Heather's curiosity, and her voice turned shrill. "Come on, tell me! What's the plan?"
Sophia inched closer to her and whispered into her ears.
"| heard that the owners of this manor, Mr. and Mrs. Duwait, are putting a curated collection of paintings they have collected over
many years on exhibition. They are even exhibiting the pink diamond they bought in an auction for eight hundred million in Estur
last year! It's over there. Let's check it out.â
âReally? Let's go!"
Caprice and Isabel were drinking juice when they overheard the conversation. They soon noticed several ladies heading in a
certain direction.
Isabel turned to Caprice, "Let's go check it out too."
Caprice followed without a word.
They had nothing to do here anyway, so they might as well entertain themselves with something.
