Chapter 20
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 20 Half an hour later, at the Cartersâ, a black car appeared and pulled up in front of the entrance.
A bodyguard pushed the door open, revealing Odell who stepped out of the car with Isabel in his arms.
The childâs eyes and nose were glowing red, and her cheeks were puffed up like a ball. She crossed her
arms in front of her chest and turned to look away from Odell.
She remained in that position the entire time, so all Odell saw was the back of her head. Odell only
frowned wordlessly and carried her firmly in his arms as he strode past the entrance.
Soon, they arrived at Liamâs room.
Liam was sitting on the bed holding his phone in an absent state of mind. When he saw Odell carrying
Isabel in, his dull, lifeless eyes suddenly turned vibrant again. Madam Carter who was accompanying
him was similarly stunned. âIsabel?â
Odell put the little girl down. Immediately, Isabel raised her foot and proceeded to deliberately stomp on
his shoe mercilessly. Odell hardly reacted at all. He did not even blink.
After that, Isabel took off and ran toward Liam.
âBrother!â She climbed into Liamâs bed.
Liam immediately took her into his arms and made her sit on the inner side of the bed.
Them, the two children glared at Odell together. Odell pursed his lips. Madam Carter was puzzled by this
scene. âLiam, did you send for Isabel?â Odell looked at the two children and muttered a short answer,
âHmm.â
Madam Carter turned to Isabel again. She could tell that Isabel had been crying for some time judging by
how red her nose and eyes were. She continued pursuing the topic, âHow did you bring her here? Did
her family even agree to this?â
Odellâs eyes flickered slightly as he answered, âSylvia is her mother.â
âWhat?â Madam Carter widened her eyes, believing that she must have heard wrong, âCan you repeat
that? Who did you say her mother was?â
âSylvia Ross,â Odell repeated stoically.
Madam Carter immediately turned to look at Isabel who was seated next to Liam. With the two children
sitting side by side, it was easy to make a quick comparison of their faces.
âNo wonder⦠No wonderâ¦â The more she studied them, the more emotional she became, and she
stood up from the head of the bed.
This explained why Liam liked to visit Isabel, and why he got along so well with her to the point of
spending tens of thousands on presents for her.
Her chubby face resembled Liamâs, and there was even some slight likeness to Odell. She had to be
Liamâs twin!
Madam Carter was so excited that she almost lost her balance. Odell stepped forward and steadied her.
âGrandma, I had someone conduct a paternity test, and the results will be sent here tomorrow.â He was
already fairly certain that Isabel was his daughter.
Madam Carter smiled and sat back on the bed. She turned to the lovely Isabel and asked tenderly,
âIsabel, howâs your Mommy doing?â Isabel glared at Odell and complained, âThe stinky uncle picked on
my Mommy, so sheâs obviously not doing well at all!â Odell zipped his lips.
Madam Carter wagered that this meant that Odell had taken Isabel away from Sylvia by force. She
swiped a cautious glance at him. âOdell, why donât you head out first? Iâll stay with them.â
Odell looked at Isabel, but she looked away, so he could only see the back of her head again. He then
looked at Liam this time. Liamâs face was full of indifference, but he could tell he was still remarkably
upset. âOkay,â Odell responded, then he spun around and left.
After the door was closed, the children felt significantly better. Madam Carter sighed tiredly, then asked
Isabel, âIsabel, have you had dinner yet?â Isabel shook her head.
âHow about I ask them to prepare something nice for you two to eat?â Madam Carter suggested.
Isabel rubbed her belly and looked at Liam expectantly. âGrandma, my sister loves eating anything
sweet. Tell them to bake a cake for her, and Iâll just have porridge myself,â Liam said. âAlright, consider it
done!â Madam Carter answered in delight.
