Odell’s expression was gloomy for a long time.

He looked at the texts sent by Tara and asked Cliff, “Has there been any news from the people sent to

monitor Edmund?”

In the passenger seat, Cliff replied, “They haven’t sent me any messages lately, and I haven’t had time to

ask them for the past few days.”

“Well, ask them now,” Odell said coldly. Cliff shivered and quickly replied, “Yes, I’ll ask now.”

Then, he took out his phone.

The call ended in a short time. He looked back at Odell and said seriously, “Master Carter, they report

that Edmund has been engaged in a business project recently. He took on a large project two days ago

which happens to be near the Young Miss and Young Master’s kindergarten. These two days, when the

children go to and come back from school, Edmund happened to pass by the kindergarten and met

Madam. However, he stayed in the car, and the Madam only chatted with him for a little while before

leaving. There are no other abnormalities.”

Odell curled his lips coldly.

‘Is it a coincidence that Edmund’s project is located near the kindy? Is it a coincidence that Sylvia only

started to take the children to school two days ago? They obviously planned this.’

Odell pursed his thin lips as his expression was shrouded in a layer of gloom.

That night, like before, Sylvia went to the children’s bedroom to accompany them after dinner.

However, the little ones did not seem to need her much. Isabel was excitedly playing with the remote

control sports car given by Edmund while Liam was also fiddling with the Megaminx in his hand.

Meanwhile, Sylvia sat to the side and carved.

Then, her alarm went off. It was time to call Odell at 8 p.m.

She picked up her phone and gave him a video call.

The call was answered in seconds. The next thing she saw was his handsome face.

However, his expression looked sullen.

Her gaze flickered as she asked, “Odell, did work go well today?” “Yes, it went well,” he replied. His voice

also seemed downhearted.

Sylvia was a bit puzzled. Why did he seem so gloomy if his work went well? She asked, “You don’t look

too good. Did something happen?”

“No.”

Fine.

Sylvia stopped probing. He asked instead, “How was your day at home? Did you meet anyone or do

anything?” She thought of Edmund, who she had run into for the past two days. However, Odell was sure

to be upset if she mentioned Edmund’s name, so she did not bring it up and said, “It’s the same as

always. I didn’t meet anyone or do anything.” On the other end of the video, the man’s already dismal

expression darkened further. “Is that so?” he asked again. Sylvia felt that something was wrong, but she

could not tell what, so she answered, “Yeah.” “Where are Isabel and Liam?” he asked.

Isabel immediately turned the camera to Isabel, who was playing with the sports car, and Liam, who was

playing with the Megaminx. The two little ones were too engrossed in their own entertainment to look that

way.

Odell was silent for a few seconds and asked, “Did you buy new toys for them to play with?” Sylvia

replied, “No, it was a gift from a friend.” “Who?” “You don’t know him.” Sylvia subconsciously avoided his

eyes when she said this. It was not that she did not want to admit it to him. However, he would definitely

be upset if she said that they were from Edmund.
