Chapter 503
Love After Marriage: Mr. Lancaster's Hidden Wife
Chapter 503
Sylviaâs smile remained as she stood up with Sherry. It was time for her to leave now that she was full,
but she had something to say to Edmund alone. She said to Sherry, âSherry, can you wait for me
outside? It will just take a few minutes.â âOkay.â Sherry grabbed the drunk Lloyd and Harry out of the
room. The room became quiet with only the two of them. Edmund continued to slouch on his seat. He
raised a brow at Sylvia and asked, âWhat do you want to talk about?â
Sylvia looked at him seriously. âEdmund, I heard from Harry that your business has been declining while
you were away. I have some savings here. You can use it as funds to turn your business around.â She
then pulled a bank card from her purse. The card contained half of her entire savings. It might not be
able to make up for his losses but it should be enough to let him turn his business around. âItâs okay.â
Edmund chuckled. âOdell Carter gave me a sum of money today and itâs twice as much as what I lost.â
Sylvia was surprised. âHe paid you?â Edmund got up from his seat and showed her the message he
received from the bank on his phone. Sylvia had a glance at the number and it was ten times more than
what she was prepared to give Edmund
She pursed her lips. Edmund patted her head. âSyl, I guess I didnât go away for half a year for nothing.
Keep your card to yourself.â Sylvia was embarrassed to give him her card now that she found out Odell
paid him for his losses. She hummed a reply and kept the card back in her purse. âWhat are you going to
do next?â âContinue my business, of course.â Edmund crossed his arms and sat back down in his seat.â
What about you? Have you spoken to Odell?â âYeah. Iâm planning to get a divorce and live my own life
with my kids.â Edmund was taken aback. He then squinted his eyes and wore a mischievous grin. âThen
does it mean Iâm getting a second chance?â
Sylvia simply smiled it off and said, âItâs getting late. You should go home and rest.â She wanted to leave
but then Edmund held her back. âHold on, Sylvia.â
Sylvia turned to him, baffled.
His gaze shifted and hinted at the ceiling-to-floor window.
Sylvia had a glance outside and saw the parking lot. It was dark outside and it was difficult to have a
clear look due to the lights in the room. However, she knew Edmund had always been a cautious person
and he would not have signaled her without a reason. She asked, âWhatâs there outside?â
Edmund said with a smile, âThereâs a pair of eyes watching us from the moment you step in.â
Sylvia immediately thought of Odell whom she walked past in the living room.
He followed her here? Sylvia frowned and wanted to leave, but before she walked out of the room, she
thought of something
She paused and turned to Edmund. âEdmund, can I ask you for a favor?â
âWhat is it?â
âCan you tell him about what Tara did?â
Edmund was surprised. âWhy me? Canât you tell him yourself?â
Sylviaâs gaze turned frosty. âHe wonât believe what I said.â âOkay. Leave it to me.â
Sylvia and Edmund left together. They walked to the parking lot and saw Sherryâs car waiting for her.
Sylvia said goodbye to Lloyd, Harry, and Edmund before she got into Sherryâs car and left. On the other
end of the parking lot, the black sports car drove out of its spot.
The man behind the wheels stared at the car that drove off.
Just as he wanted to follow the car, a figure stepped in front and stopped him.
Edmund stood in front of the car and grinned. âMaster Carter, a gentleman like you stalking a woman in
the middle of the night? It doesnât sound appropriate, does it?â
