“Mommy, where did you go last night? Why did you turn off your phone?” The little girl’s childish voice rang out.

Sylvia replied, “Mommy was at a friend’s house to take care of some stuff. My phone turned off automatically because it ran out

of battery.”

“Really?”

“Really,” she said with a smile.

Isabel immediately sighed in relief when she saw that Sylvia’s smile was real. However, she frowned and said,” Next time, you're

not allowed to turn off your phone anymore. Liam and | thought you were going to suddenly disappear again just like the last

time.”

The girl’s tone was fierce, but her expression was aggrieved.

Where did you go with him last night?”

‘His true love is Tara, but he’s questioning me on where | went with Thomas last night?

“Odell Carter, are you out of your mind?” she asked.

Odell pinched her face with one hand, his gloomy face pressing closer to her. “Answer me.”

Sylvia met his gaze and smiled back at him. “You see the clothes I’m wearing. Where did you think | went?”

His hand that was cupping her face suddenly tightened.
