Chapter 718

Odell took them to his study upstairs.

The study was facing the sun, so the sunlight shone through the windows and the temperature was comfortable as well.

Odell sat down on the sofa with Isabel in his arms. At the same time, he looked over at Liam.

Liam then climbed up to sit beside Odell. The little girl was still sobbing, but her cries had become softer than it had been

downstairs.

Odell wiped her tears. Then, he asked, “What did Grand Aunt Ramona tell you?”

Liam replied, “She said that you and Mommy had gotten divorced a long time ago and that she had not left us because she

fought with you. Instead, she has run away with Uncle Thomas to go abroad. She also said that Mommy didn’t want us anymore

and told us not to meddle in your private life.”

Odell frowned.

Seeing that he had not said a word, Isabel asked, “Baddie, what she said was false, right? She was just lying to brother and me,

right?”

“There are both truths and lies in her words.”

Isabel frowned and asked, “Which of them is true and which one is false?”

“It's true that your mommy and | have gotten divorced. She then developed feelings for Uncle Thomas after we got divorced. She

didn’t run away with him. They're actually together in a proper way.” Odell suppressed his anger as he said this. He said while

stroking Isabel's head lightly, “Mommy wouldn’t abandon you guys. She might’ve been delayed by some issues and could not get

in touch with you two in time. Daddy will find her as soon as possible and ask her to return a message to you.”

Isabel's eyes widened. There was surprise and confusion in her eyes.

Mommy had really divorced Baddie.

Mommy had even got together with Uncle Thomas.

Was that not a plot that would only appear in TV dramas?

However, why had Mommy not given her and her brother a call? Had she been delayed by some problems?

After a short while, she looked at him with her reddened eyes and bashfully asked, “Baddie, is everything you said

true?”

Odell said, “Yes. It’s the truth.”

“But Great-Aunt Ramona said Mommy doesn’t want Izzy

and brother anymore.”

“She lied to you.”

“Really?” Isabel looked toward Odell with teary eyes.

Odell’s chest tightened. He wiped her tears with his fingertips and replied softly, “Yes.”

Isabel's tears stopped flowing.

She sniffled and then she huffed, “Izzy hates Great-Aunt Ramona.”

Odell sensed that something was not right. He asked, “ Did she say anything else about you?”

Isabel pouted.

Before she spoke, Liam said, “Great -Aunt Ramona said Isabel has bad manners and that she'll become an unwanted, naughty

kid if she keeps meddling in your private life.”

Odell’s expression went cold instantly.

Had he been giving Great-Aunt Ramona too much respect? She had actually dared to enter his house and speak in that way to

his children!

He took a moment to suppress his anger before saying to Isabel, “Great-Aunt Ramona is indeed hateful. Daddy won't allow her

to come over anymore.”

Isabel's big eyes blinked. Then, she rested against his

chest and replied, “Mm.”

Her baby voice was cute and sweet as she became well — behaved again.

Odell’s gaze relaxed. He spoke to Liam. “Call me immediately if anyone mentions Mommy to you, okay?”

Liam said, “Okay.”

After some time had passed.

Once Isabel's emotions had stabilized and she was sleeping soundly in his arms, he finally carried Isabel back downstairs again.

Liam was beside him.

When the father and children came downstairs, Sebastian and the others looked at them at the same time.

Odell looked at Sebastian and said in a low voice,“ Sebastian, please inform Great-Aunt Ramona that it will not be necessary for

her to come here to visit Grandmother anymore. If she comes again, I'll revoke her monthly living expenses.” Sebastian quickly

replied, “Yes, sir. I'll give her a call immediately.”

He was also quite angry that a lady of such an advanced age would come to pick a fight with a five-year-old child.

He would call her immediately after Young Master Carter went out and relay Young Master Carter’s exact words to her. He would

see if she still dared to come in the future!

That same evening.

While Odell was sitting in the office and handling some matters, Lily gave him a call. He glanced at Isabel, who had dozed off on

his desk, and placed the phone next to his ear.

Lily said apologetically through the phone, “Young Master Carter, | heard from my grandmother that Aunt Ramona went to look

for the young master and young miss this morning because of me. Is that true?”

Odell’s expression darkened.

He had intended on talking to her about it, but he had not expected her to call him first.

Lily seemed to sense his mood from the other side of the call. She said hastily, “Please don’t misunderstand, Young Master

Carter. | didn’t tell my grandmother anything. Grandmother and Aunt Ramona have always wanted to bring us together. Since

we're working on a collaboration together now, my grandmother likes to ask if anything else has happened between us. Having

no other choice, | used the excuse of saying that the children didn’t want you to have a girlfriend. Both she and Great

Aunt Ramona are close friends. | guess she mentioned it to her, and Great-Aunt Ramona went to look for the young master and

young miss.”

After explaining, she said guiltily, “I’m really sorry to have caused trouble to you, the young master and young miss.”

Her tone was sincere.
