Lily immediately asked, “Master Carter, did you see the online article?”

She sounded anxious. Odell replied, “Yeah. I’ve asked Cliff to handle it. The news will be taken down by tonight.” “I’m also

handling it on my side, but | did not expect my family to see it,” Lily said glumly. Since it had happened because of him, Odell

asked, “Do you need me to personally explain the situation to them?” “No. I’ve tried explaining it, but my grandfather is quite

disturb your rest.” Odell agreed.

Odell sat behind his desk as usual as he went through some documents.

Suddenly, someone knocked on his door.

“Come in,” He said.

Cliff pushed the door open as he walked in and said respectfully , “Master Carter , Miss Springsteen is here. She said that she

has to see you about an urgent matter.”

An urgent matter?

Odell frowned. “Let her in.”

“Yes.”

He continued reading the document.

When the door opened again and Lily came in, Odell put

aside the document in his hand.

His indifferent gaze swept over her. “Please have a seat.”

“Thank you.” Lily smiled at him, but it was clear that something was on her mind. She sat on the couch that was nearby and said,

“Master Carter, | didn’t mean to disturb you, but | have no other choice.”

Odell said, “Please get straight to the point.”

“Okay.” Lily sucked in a deep breath. Her exquisite little face faced him and said, “Let's get engaged.”

Odell’s brows furrowed. He said in a deep voice, “Miss Springsteen, are you joking with me?”

Lily did not back down from his intimidating gaze and replied, “Master Carter, I’m serious this time. | want you to get engaged

with me.” “I do not plan to remarry.” “I know, but | have no other choice.” Lily sighed and said, “Do you remember our scandal a

few days ago on the Internet?”

“Nothing remains on the Internet now.”

“But my grandfather, as well as some of my relatives, still remember it. They think something happened between us that night in

Lush Heaven, especially my grandfather. You know him. He is conservative and stubborn and refuses to listen to my explanation.

He thinks that I’ve been fooling around outside and fainted in anger yesterday. He even refused to meet me today. If we do not
