Footage of the Forgotten
Shadowcage
Without looking back, she leaves. Rudra watches her, troubled.
After she picked up her camera from repairing shop, she went to her dorms.
Fa- "Is the camera repaired?"
Jiya- "Yeh, That's why I called you both."
Jane- "Then shall we finally watch your videos?"
Fa- "Yeah! Maybe we'll figure out why we fell asleep and how the camera even broke. We recorded everything, right?"
Till then Jiya connects the memory card to her laptop. The screen lights up â and the video starts playing. Footage rolls: from the main gate... to the office... to the corridor... to the auditorium... canteen... library until Fa and Jiya miss the spot of falling asleep. The video continues. It shows them wandering toward an abandoned building. The corridor inside is dark... eerie. Thenâ A strange shadow flickers on the screen â eyes glowing blood-red, twitching unnaturally. Suddenly, Jiya is seen running toward Fa â the camera falls â the screen goes black.
The girls stare at the laptop in stunned silence.
Fa- "Why don't I remember anything of it? Do you see that strange shadow? It felt like it was calling me to follow. I told you something is strange about that building."
Jiya- "I donât remember anything after the library either..."
Jane- "Something is seriously off about that building."
Jiya- "If we really went there... then how did we wake up back in the library? We donât remember it... but we have evidence about it."
Fa- "Exactly. We need to investigate this."
Jane- "Let's sneak into that building during classes. No one will notice us."
Jiya- "Dean Reyansh did mention something about renovating it during his speech..."
Fa- "Yeah, right. I bet he knows somethingâs wrong there. Thatâs why he wants it sealed."
Jane- "Tomorrow, then?"
Jiya- "Alright, Let's start from Library."
Later, at horrific midnight.
The security guard, on his final round to check the university premises, wandered towards the swimming pool. His footsteps slowed as he noticed something unusualâclothes, scattered in a line, leading ominously toward the pool.
There, under the flickering lights, stood a girl from the dance club. She was on the diving platform, clad only in her undergarments, her body trembling as if possessed. She dancedâa grotesque, unnatural movementâher limbs twisted at disturbing angles. She bent down in a way no human should, forming an eerie silhouette against the moonlit water.

Without warning, she leapt into the pool with a thunderous thud.
The water churned violently... and then, slowly, it turned blood red.
The guard staggered back, startled by the sound and the sight. Heart pounding, he took cautious steps forwardâonly to freeze mid-way.
What he saw in that pool made his knees buckle.
With a final trembling gasp, he fell backward, unconscious.
The next morning, chaos erupted once againâthis time caused by a different group of guards.
An ambulance was called. A dead body was carried out. The investigation team arrived shortly after, resuming their inquiry. The swimming pool area was immediately sealed offâno one was allowed near.
A notification buzzed across every studentâs phone:
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, today's classes are suspended. You may take the day to relax, visit your friends, and enjoy your time."
Rumours spread like wildfire. Whispers filled the hallwaysâsomething terrible had happened, and the university was allegedly trying to cover it up.
In the Girls' Dormitory
Jane: "What should we do now that classes are cancelled?"
Fa: "I think we should postpone our investigation for now."
Jane: "Let's wait and see when classes resume."
Riya: "In the meantime, why don't we go out and have some fun?"
Fa: "You're suggesting we have fun?"
Riya: "Can't I enjoy myself a little?"
Jane: "Of course you can. Jiya, would you like to join us?"
Jiya: "No, I'll stay here."
Jane: "Are you still feeling scared?"
Jiya: "I'm not sure, but I just don't feel like going out."
Riya: "It's her choice. Let's go."
Left alone in her room, Jiya pulled out everything related to the universityâs recent eventsâher camera, her diary, her phone, and her laptop.
She began replaying her exploration videos, over and over, documenting every strange detail in her diary. She rewatched the footage of Tinaâs incident, analyzing every frame with sharp focus.
Something wasnât right.
Each video hinted at something dark... something hidden.
Determined, Jiya opened her browser and began digging deeperâinto the history of the university.
Jiya (to herself): "Whatâs going on? Why canât I find a single piece of history on this university? Somethingâs definitely off. In the video, Tina clearly had no disorder, and Fa... Fa was hypnotized. So why is this happening? Why is the university hiding something? Ugh, this is giving me a headache. I need some air. This research is draining meâand neither of them have returned yet."
Frustrated, she grabbed her hoodie and stepped out for an evening walk. The cool breeze helped, a little. But her thoughts refused to settle.
And thenâshe saw him.
Rudra, standing by the Mango tree, talking to Tinaâs friend. His voice was low, unreadable. But the moment his eyes met hers across the dim light, something shifted. His book slipped from his hands, tumbling to the ground. He gave a clumsy smile, then lifted his left arm and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
Jiya gave him a quick side glance, unimpressed, and walked past without a word.
Jiya (to herself): "Now look at this guy. The universityâs practically screaming secrets, and heâs out here doing... whatever that was. Clumsy, distracted... when will he ever be serious? Duh!"
She walked toward the main gate, hoping the breeze would calm her thoughts. But thenâ
She froze.
There he was.
The same terrifying man sheâd seen before, lurking at the edge of her nightmares. He was standing perfectly still... staring at her. His eyes locked onto her like a predatorâcold, hungry, inhuman. It felt like he could devour her soul.
Her breath hitched. The world spun.
And in the next secondâ
