In front of the table, upon seeing Naomi walking behind her colleagues, Brendan turned and instructed Jason, “Jason, get Ms. Goodwin a chair.”

Naomi said she couldn’t even think of being with him, so he’d give her all the deference he could to see

how she responded.

Brendan’s orders to Jason created silence throughout the room. Everyone was looking at Naomi.

Had Brendan listened to what Pearson said and believed that he would make a good couple with Naomi

too?

“Alright, Mr. Ludwig.” Jason got up to carry out his orders.

Upon hearing Jason’s response, Chloe stood up and said, “Naomi, please sit here.”

Naomi swirled her wineglass in her right hand as she looked at Brendan.

Brendan raised an eyebrow at her and pulled out the chair that Chloe had vacated. He then said, “Have a

seat, Ms. Goodwin.”

Michael pulled himself out of his stupor and told Naomi, “Naomi, you’re in charge of the Ludwig family’s legal representation. Facilitate good rapport with Mr. Ludwig.”

The man beside Naomi shifted to make way for her.

He had accompanied Naomi home once, so he was clear regarding Naomi’s relationship with Brendan. But since Naomi never mentioned it, he didn’t dare to say anything either.

Naomi pulled the chair out and sat confidently in response to Brendan’s high–profile actions. She responded, “Mr. Ludwig, you’re too kind. I might as well comply.”

Following that, Michael and his colleagues raised a glass in Brendan’s direction. Brendan humored them and took a sip of his drink.

They were halfway through the dinner, but Brendan’s wineglass still remained as full as when he started. He only sipped at it.

Naomi suspected that he didn’t even sip the wine, not even a drop. He just touched the glass to his lips.

In addition, it was an intense honor for them to have a man with Brendan’s status sitting by their table. Even if he drank, it would only be a sip or two. It wasn’t like they could sue him for that.

After Michael polished off his wine, he noticed that Brendan’s arm was slung around Naomi’s chair as he engaged them in small talk. His eyes flitted onto Naomi’s from time to time.

Thus, Michael grinned at Naomi and said, “Naomi, you’re the main person in charge of the Ludwig Corporation’s legal representation. Today is such a great day. Have a drink with Mr. Ludwig!”

What kind of good day was today?

Although Naomi complained Internally, there were so many senior officials here. She couldn’t embarrass

her superior!

Raising her glass, Naomi smiled and said, “Thank you, Mr. Ludwig, for giving us a chance to work. together. We at Solaris Law Firm will put our best foot forward to finish the jobs that the Ludwig Corporation has assigned us.”

She then drained her glass. Brendan stood up. Upon seeing Naomi finish her wine, he said, “Ms. Goodwin has been so sincere. You’re making me look bad.”

He emptied his once–full glass of white wine in one swoop..

Everyone went silent. Michael was dumbfounded.

Naomi had completed a great feat. Brendan hadn’t touched a drop of wine while drinking with them. Yet, when it came to Naomi, he drank it all.

It was a gigantic glass! He felt his stomach turn at the sight.

Naomi was really their lucky star.

After the rest of them came to their senses, they finally understood why Solaris Law Firm managed to become the Ludwig Corporation’s legal representation.

Brendan had fallen for Solaris‘ lawyer. That was the reason why Dorcan Law Firm failed to have their contract renewed. It looked like they had to help Solaris out occasionally to suck up to Naomi.

Perhaps she would be the future Mrs. Ludwig.

When Chloe saw this scene, she knitted her eyebrows tightly. Her worry for Brendan was killing her.

However, this was a problem between the married couple themselves. Brendan was willing to tease Naomi for fun. What could she say? She could only look on as her heart panged for him.

Brendan seldom treated her like this. Naomi looked at him with a complicated gaze.

Brendan saw Naomi gazing at her. Her eyes were filled with feelings he could not decipher. He asked with a smile, “Are you worried?”
