Boomerang Love Online Novel
Chapter 271
As Brendan helped her shower, he was completely in line. He didnât dare to do anything to her.
Even when Naomi intentionally seduced him, he remained unshaken.
After Naomi finished her shower and sat in front of her laptop, Brendanâs face darkened. He scolded, âWho let you turn the laptop on? Go back to bed now.â
Naomi wanted to cry. She turned to look at him and said, âBrendan, I havenât confirmed whatâs going on. Donât be too nervous. Even if I were pregnant, what then? Pregnant ladies still need to work anyway.â
Brendan said, âThat only applies to other people. My wife is a whole other story.â
Brendan calling her his wife made Naomi stare at him speechlessly. Afterward, he
walked over and carried her from the chair.
In the past, heâd been rough when picking her up. However, that day, he held her like he was cradling a prized possession. He was careful and gentle.
When he put her on the bed, it seemed like he was placing a mound of cotton candy on the bed. She didnât know whether to laugh or cry.
How hard was it to be treated so gently by him?
Once he covered her in blanket, he brought her a glass of warm milk.
Brendanâs tiptoeing around her reminded her of the time sheâd gotten a fever in
junior high. Brendan had taken care of her around the clock.
Other than to use the toilet, heâd never left her side. He hadnât even gone to school.
Heâd fed her medicine and food. Back then, heâd also been this nervous.
After staring at Brendan for a while, Naomi smiled and said, âBrendan, youâre making me feel guilty. Iâll feel apologetic if I donât turn out to be pregnant, both to you and
your ancestors.â
What kind of person was Brendan? Growing up, heâd never even poured water for his
parents before. Yet, now he was serving her personally. Naomi felt awkward.
Brendan tugged at his pants and sat on the bed. He said, âIf youâre not pregnant, so be it. Youâll be pregnant soon anyway.â
Naomi smiled at his words. She said, âI thought you didnât want children.â
Theyâd been married for almost three years. Heâd almost never come home or
touched her. Once theyâd finally consummated their relationship, heâd secretly taken
contraceptive measures.
Thus, sheâd never thought that Brendan wanted to be a father.
At least, sheâd never thought he would make her pregnant.
The room was silent. Brendan caressed her face and said, âIâve never entertained the
thought of not having children.â
Naomi turned to look at him and said, âBrendan, I want to discuss something with
you.â
Brendan replied, âGo on.â
Naomi stuck a hand out of the blanket and grasped his hand gently. âI need to attend court on Monday. Weâll wait till Jessicaâs case closes before going to the hospital for
a checkâup.â
The case was going to court. Naomi didnât want to be affected. In addition, if they really found that she was pregnant, Brendan wouldnât let her go to work, if his behavior now was any indication.
She didnât want Brendan to go with her. She wanted to go herself.
Unsurprisingly, Brendan immediately rejected her suggestion. He said, âImpossible. Go for the checkâup tomorrow.
âAlright, alright. Weâll go tomorrow.â Naomi wasnât one to be stubborn. If Brendan disagreed, then fine; she would let it go. She tightened her blanket and closed her
eyes.
Brendan said, âDrink your milk.â
Naomi responded, âDrink it yourself.â
âNaomi.â Brendanâs hand slipped into the blankets.
She had been scared of tickles since she had been young. Thus, when Brendanâs
hand went under the blanket, she immediately wriggled out.
