Chapter 41
Brendanâs words left the Sabella family members visibly uneasy.
The maids exchanged knowing glances. There was finally someone dealing with their usually domineering and dismissive heiress, Madelyn.
Patrickâs expression darkened as he faced Brendan. âBrendan, Naomi is your wife. She came to my house
and caused a scene. You owe us an explanation. Otherwise, we wonât let it slide easily.â
Brendan turned to Naomi and said, âStarting a fight in someone elseâs house is indeed going too far. Next
time, if you want to fight, do it outside.â
His clear favoritism and protection of Naomi infuriated Clement. âBrendan, are you willing to go against
the Sabella family just because of Naomi?â
Surveying the room, Brendan replied, âIâll compensate for the damaged items caused by Naomi, but the medical expenses are on you. When she attacked Bailey this afternoon, Bailey had to pay for her own
medical treatment.â
Brendan never suffered losses without any reason. While Naomi was at fault for the violence, the Sabella family should address Madelynâs ruthless actions first.
The mention of Bailey brought an unpleasant expression to the Sabella familyâs faces. They hadnât anticipated Naomi to stand up for Bailey in this manner.
Seeing Brendanâs clear stance, Naomi turned and faced Madelyn. With a stern voice, she warned,â Madelyn, if you dare to touch Bailey again, Iâll make you pay the price.â
Madelynâs face paled.
With that, Brendan ruffled Naomiâs hair and questioned, âHave you vented enough? If youâre done, we
should head home.â
What Brendan really meant was that he could continue to help Naomi manage the situation if she hadnât
vented enough of her anger.
As Naomi was about to respond, Bailey, with her disheveled short hair, rushed in anxiously. She cried out,
âNaomilâ
With Baileyâs presence, Naomi glanced at Brendan and said, âWe should go.â
As soon as she reached Bailey, Naomi patted her on the back and said, âEverythingâs fine. Letâs go back.â
Baileyâs eyes reddened instantly after seeing Madelyn all beaten up and the pale faces of the Sabella family.
Despite being born into the wealthy Jenkins family, Baileyâs life hadnât been easy. Her only stroke of luck In this life was meeting and befriending Naomi.
Baileyâs eyes welled up with tears. Naomi rubbed her head and assured her, âWith me around, no one will dare to bully you.â

âAlright. Letâs go back.â
As Brendan led them away, Madelyn fumed. âDad, Mom, Grandpa, did I just get beaten by Naomi for
nothing?â
Patrick gritted his teeth and hissed, âThis matter between us and the Goodwin family isnât over.â
Elaine added, âLetâs wait until your brother returns.â
Meanwhile, in the Maybach, Bailey held Naomiâs hand and inquired, âDidnât you say this matter was over?
âWhy did you come to Madelynâs house without telling me? Luckily, I sensed that something was wrong and called Brendan.â
Bailey was not usually talkative. However, she spoke more than usual just then.
Naomi held Baileyâs hand tighter and declared, âI wonât let those who have hurt you off so easily, including Estelle and Pauline.â
âThank you, Naomi.â Bailey was moved by her actions.
Just then, Brendanâs phone suddenly rang.
