Chapter 48
Boomerang Love Online Novel
Chapter 48
Before this, Naomi would always come looking for him with a smile. But this time, when Brendan had gone to the Goodwin residence for her, she didnât make a fuss like she usually would.
Brendan couldnât accept it. He felt that Naomi had just been treating him like a circus monkey all this time. She teased and toyed with him when she was in a good mood. But when she didnât feel like it, she would just push him aside.
Right now, Brendan realized that even though it had always been Naomi making the first move, she was
the one in control and not him.
Naomi did whatever she wanted. It was all according to her mood.
Naomi chuckled dryly and said, âJust because I chose to be nice to you previously doesnât mean I have to keep it up forever. I need to uphold my dignity too, you know?â
Brendan grabbed, the back of her neck and pulled her forward abruptly. âDoes being with me mean you
lose your dignity?â
The nape of Naomiâs neck was hurting from Brendanâs grip.
She looked up at him and said, âBrendan, your anger is pointless. Let go.â
He had never respected her anyway.
Brendan didnât let go, and the fury in his eyes blazed.
Naomi tried to break free from his hold but failed.
So, she could only stare at him and say, âDonât forget. It was your father who came to my house to propose the marriage arrangement, Brendan. It was you who agreed to it. Donât make it seem like I owe you anything. If you have any-â
Brendan cut Naomi off by pulling her into his arms. He then leaned down and sealed her lips with a kiss.
It was as if he knew what Naomi was going to say, and he wasnât having any of it.
The kiss, filled with anger, came to an end. Naomiâs lips became swollen as a result.
She wiped her mouth as Brendan walked to the wardrobe. He then changed his clothes and left without looking back.
In the room, Naomi fumed silently!
She just couldnât understand. How was it her fault every time?
Brendan was out celebrating the holiday with another woman. Yet, why was she the one to shoulder the
blame?
Naomi sat back in the chair helplessly.
Suddenly, Christine pushed the door open. She asked, âNaomi, I heard noises coming from your room

What happened?â
After glancing around the room, Christine added, âWhereâs Brendan?â
With Christineâs arrival, Naomi quickly composed herself and said, âHe went out for some workârelated
matters.â
Christine muttered, âWhy is everyone still so busy during the holidays?â
Afterward, she chatted with Naomi for a while.
Christine then lamented, âSpeaking of which, Brendanâs behavior is much better this year compared to the previous two. At least he knows to come back for dinner.â
Naomi yawned. âItâs almost midnight, Mom. You should go and rest.â
Christine stood up and said, âAlright, Iâm calling it a day. Donât be upset with Brendan. Heâs just busy with
work.â
âI understand,â Naomi replied.
Having been married to him for more than two years, Naomi had long gotten used to it. Otherwise, she would have driven herself crazy a long time ago..
After Christine left, Naomi closed the door and let out a long sigh.
In the following days, Naomi didnât bother returning to Yellowind Bay. It happened to be the holidays, so she took the chance to spend some time with her parents.
That afternoon, shortly after Naomi woke up from her nap, Heather called.
She asked, âWhy havenât you bes
home these past few days, Naomi?â
Naomi replied as she poured herself some water, âI went back to my parentsâ home to spend some time
with them.â
H
âI see. I came by earlier, but Jennifer said that you havenât been home the past few days.â

Without waiting for Naomiâs reply, Heather asked, âSo, when do you plan to come back?â âIâll be back after dinner,â Naomi answered.
