Thirty-Three
Noticing You (BoyxBoy)
"Good morning." Jess smiled while sliding in his seat. He reached over to fix the heater and changed the radio station.
Isaac smiled. "Good morning."
"Daisy loves you." Jess said and his eyes watched Isaac with fondness.
"As she should." Isaac leaned over to kiss him. "I love her brother."
Jess smiled. "Really? Because, I heard a rumor that he loves you."
"Oh yeah?" Isaac kissed him again. "That's nice to hear."
Jess hummed as they pulled away. Isaac started driving and Jess slipped his hand into Isaac's palm. He intertwined their fingers and ran his thumb over Jess's palm.
Jess rolled his head on the headrest and looked at Isaac with a cheeky smile. "We're turning into a very cheesey couple, you realize that?"
Isaac tilted his head back slightly and let out a laugh. He squeezed Jess's hand. "That's alright though, isn't it?"
"Yeah." Jess smiled down at their intertwined hands. "That's alright."
The rest of the short ride to school was light. When they got there they fell into routine. Isaac followed Jess to his locker where they would meet up with Tally and Mason. Andrew joined them half the time, the other half being with Ki.
Ki came up and talked to Zack in between classes but he seemed to know not to overstep the boundaries of Isaac's newly set friend group. He would approach the group on occasion but not always.
Jess liked it that way. He liked Tally and Mason because they were low key and chilled out. Ki seemed anything but that. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, just not Jess's thing.
Isaac knew Jess felt like that too. He could see it in the boy's expressions and in the way Jess's shoulders were relaxed around Tally and Mason but not so much around Ki. He wanted his boy comfortable over anything else. So, he hung out with Ki in between classes and after school.
"Zack!" Ki ran up to their group for the first time since he apologized. He ran so fast he bumped into the boy from behind and wrapped his arm around the boy's shoulders.
Isaac smiled. "What's up man?" Then it slipped a little when he saw Ki's wide eyes. "What's wrong?"
"Vic got a boyfriend." He said, slightly out of breath. Isaac felt his eyes go wide too.
"A what?! She can't have a boyfriend."
Ki raised his arms up, taking a little step back. "That's what I said!"
"Who is this boy?" Isaac raised his brows. "When did you find out?"
"This morning." Ki let out a sigh and shook his head. "She told us at breakfast. Dad says she's too young to date and Mom says we gotta meet him."
"Damn right we gotta meet him. I'm gonna break his knees."
"Yes!" Ki grinned. "This is exactly why I came to you."
"Who's Vic?"
The boys that got caught up planning assault and maybe murder together turned to look at Tally. Jess was smiling at them, more so Isaac, softly. Mason had his eyebrows raised like he was only half surprised.
"My little sister." Ki said. "She's twelve, that's too young to have a boyfriend right?"
Tally shrugged. "I wouldn't know."
"Yes, it's far too young to have a boyfriend. Didn't we tell her she's not allowed to date until she's twenty-five?" Isaac looked at Ki for confirmation. The boy nodded.
"She must've thought we were joking."
Isaac scoffed. "How dare she."
"I was thinking we take this guy down to the river and just like, toss him in." Ki said. "But that sounds like a two man job so I need help."
Isaac nodded hurriedly. "Of course, dude."
"This is a bit overdramatic, don't you think?" Jess was looking in between them and smiling.
"If you had a twelve year old little sister that just got a boyfriend would you not be the same?" Ki looked at him in disbelief.
Jess chuckled. "I have a little sister that's eleven and I've given her boy advice before. It's no big deal, it's not like they're gonna do anything more than hold hands."
Isaac and Ki immediately cringed. "Oh dear God." Ki shook his head. "We gotta cut off his hands."
Isaac nodded in agreement. Jess burst out laughing. Zack's eyes flicked over to the boy and his expression from earlier fell as a soft smile planted on his face. For a few moments his mind was blank as he just observed Jess. His beautiful Jess.
"Don't laugh Jess, this is serious!" Ki waved his hands around melodramaticaly. Jess only laughed more.
Isaac bumped shoulders with Ki. "Tell me when the little shit is coming over and I'll be there. We can scare the ever living fuck outta this guy so he doesn't even think of touching Vicky."
Ki grinned and nodded. He patted Isaac's shoulder. "You got it. I'll text you as soon as I figure out when he's gonna be there."
Zack smiled back. "Alright."
The bell rang then, interrupting any further question. Ki tapped Isaac on the back once before heading off his own way. "See you man!"
Isaac said a soft goodbye to Jess before the two split ways. He fell into step next to Mason easily on their way to first hour. Mason nudged him with his shoulder.
"I didn't expect you to be so overprotective. Especially over Ki's little sister."
Isaac shrugged, giving him a shy smile. "I grew up in Ki's house as much as I did my own. She's like a little sister to me too."
Mason just hummed in understanding. The rest of the way, they were quiet. Isaac appreciated that.
Isasc had always appreciated the quiet in a way. He hated silence but he could appreciate quiet. When there was only light background noise but your main focus wasn't loud. It was calming.
And since being around Jess, he grew to appreciate the quiet even more. It was always better with someone to be quiet with. Jess was perfect to he quiet with.
Then again, Jess was just perfect in general. At least to Isaac he was. Not a moment went by where he didn't think about him.
His Jess was always on his mind.
Beautiful eyelashes on beautiful eyes. Beautiful lips that were so soft to kiss. Beautiful hair that fell over his forehead just right. Beautiful hands he loved to hold. Beautiful ears that turned red when he was embarrassed. Beautiful jawline and pale neck that he liked kissing on. Overall, just a beautiful boy. A beautiful boy that he had the blessing of calling his boyfriend.
Everything about him was amazing. From the way he talked and moved to the way he sat and observed. Part of Isaac (a very big part) just wanted to sit and watch him for extended periods of time. He couldn't though, that'd be creepy.
"Mr. Johnson." The old bat snapped and Isaac shook his head slightly to refocus his attention. "It'd be nice of you to join us."
"Uh right... sorry ma'am."
She rolled her eyes in reply and went back to teaching. Isaac only partially paid attention. Half of hid mind was still thinking of Jess.
It's not like they were going over anything really important so Isaac wasn't too worried. They had the rest of this week before getting out on Thanksgiving break so no teachers were really assigning anything crazy. Therefore that gave Isaac free reign to think about Jess in his classes.
âââââ
Isaac walked along the hall until he found Jess. "Hey." He smiled softly. "Library?"
Jess grinned. "Okay."
They walked side by side down the hallway. Jess was smiling and looking in front of him to watch where they were going. Zack was looking at Jess.
They reached the library and went over to their table silently. They didn't need to exchange any words at this point. They both knew the drill.
Isaac slid his bag off onto thr floor by his chair. He unzipped the pocket and pulled out a bag of chips. He tossed them at Jess who gracefully caught them and smiled as thanks.
"There a particular reason you wanted to eat in here instead of out there?" Jess asked. "Not that I mind."
Isaac hummed. There were a lot of reasons. He was alone with Jess here, for one, it was more intimate. There wasn't all the crowds being loud and interrupting them. There wasn't their friends giving them teasing looks any time they touched. It was just them.
"I like it here. It's like, our spot." Isaac smiled.
Jess chuckled quietly under his breath. "Okay, you're right. I like it here too."
Isaac stretched his legs out and put them on either side of Jess's. He hooked his foot around Jess's ankle and Jess gave him a small smile.
"So, Thanksgiving is coming up." Jess hummed, opening his bag of chips.
"It is." Isaac nodded.
"Got any plans?"
"My aunt always comes over the day of. We sit around and eat. Then we watch TV and talk about what's been going on in our lives. Then the weekend after we go to my grandparents. First my dad's parents and then the next day my mom's. They live way upstate so I don't get to see them often."
Jess hummed. "Sounds fun."
Isaac shrugged. "Sometimes. What about you? Any plans?"
Jess nodded. "Not the day of, we usually don't so much then, but the day after we do. My mom has a tradition of getting all her kids to come over so we can eat together. She cooks a big meal and sets up a big table with a festive table cloth and everything. She always gets really happy over the holidays."
Isaac nodded with interest. Jess looked at him and nibbled at his lip like there was more he wanted to sat. Zack waited patiently for Jess to say it.
"You should come. I mean- if you want to. I think it'd be cool. You'd get to meet all my siblings."
Isaac beamed. "I'll go if you come to mine on Thanksgiving. I think my aunt would love to meet you."
Jess smiled. It was his big, pretty smile. "Okay. Deal."
Isaac smiled back. They both sat there smiling at one another. It was a peaceful kind of moment. Jess picked up a chip and crunched on it before offering one to Isaac. He took it.
"Do you think Tally and Conor are going to be a thing now?" Isaac asked with a tilted head. "Apparently they hooked up in the bathroom at the party."
Jess's eyes widened. "They did?"
"Yeah. They were both pretty drunk but Tally said Conor DM'ed him on Instagram to make sure they were cool after that."
"Huh." Jess looked in thought. "Did Tally say anything else about it?"
Isaac shook his head. "I was going to ask but he shrugged it off and said something to Mason instead."
Jess hummed. "Then unless you see them hanging out again, it's probably just a one night stand. Tally has those sometimes."
Zack nodded. "I guess that would make sense."
"Yeah. It's a shame though, that could forge our friend groups and give Andrew a chance." Jess shook his head. "Tally should've seen that golden opportunity."
Isaac chuckled. "Andrew does need all the help he can get, the poor guy. Did you see him when Marco came up to you at the party?"
Jess raised his eyebrows. "No? Why?"
"He was frozen just watching you two talk. He was blushing too, can't even blame it on the alcohol because he was sober."
Jess chuckled. "So he's shy? That's hard to believe."
"Apparently when he's got a school girl crush he is." Isaac laughed lightly. "He's a little helpless."
Jess smiled. "I'm sure he'll figure it out. You did."
Isaac smiled at him. "Yeah, and that worked out really good for me."
Jess smiled sweetly back. "You and me both."
"Do you want to hangout after school? I can take us out to eat. It could be a date." Zack asked with a hopeful smile.
Jess raised his eyebrows at him. "You saw me like two days ago."
"I know but I just can't get enough of you."
Jess stiffled a laugh. Isaac kept smiling at him, feeling no embarrassment. He was in love with this boy. He wouldn't be embarrassed by admitting that he wanted to spend time with him.
"Tomorrow you can take me out." Jess said.
"Okay." Isaac grinned. "I'll take what I can get."
Jess nodded with a small smile. He offered the chip bag to Isaac again. He took some with a grin.
"We should have a movie night with the group." Isaac said. "Like, everyone, y'know? Tally, Mase, Kristi, Andrew, and Ki. It could be cool right?"
"Sounds like a recipe for chaos." Jace laughed a little. "Works for me."
Isaac spared him a grin. "Yeah? Kung Fu Panda can be on the watch list."
Jess smirked. "Shut up."
With a sudden idea Isaac winked with a smug smile. "Make me."
And then they were kissing.
Jess leaned over the table to connect their lips in the empty library. The librarian was in her back room on the computer and not another soul was in there. It was just them, kissing with a table in between them.
I am so fucking in love with this boy.
â¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢ââ¢
We are nearing the end folks.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
