She wore a black wool coat with jeans and a pair of kitten heels.

The news was out that Qin Chu had divorced Huo Mian and was a bachelor again. Therefore, as soon as he walked in the party, the ladies walked up one after another in the hopes of striking up a conversation. However, after a dozen attempts in exchanging business cards, none succeeded.

Qin Chu simply held a glass of red wine and quietly stood by himself in a corner, only engaging in short conversations when he encountered entrepreneurs that he knew.

He was going to quietly stand there all night until he saw a familiar shadow passing in the crowd. He didn’t think Huo Mian would show up, nor did he think she would run in without even changing.

“Are you here for your ex-husband then? He’s quite popular today! After all, he’s a bachelor again, and a lot of girls have been trying to hit on him.”

“Save the bullshit for yourself.” Huo Mian lifted her head and scanned across Huo Siqian’s face coldly. At that moment, in the corner of her eyes, she found the familiar shadow she had been looking for.

She walked around Huo Siqian and headed directly towards Qin Chu.

“I’m not here to ask for money…” Huo Mian’s voice was barely higher than a whisper. She bit her lip as if she wanted to say something.

“If you’re here for a business partnership, you would need to make an appointment. Please excuse me, Miss. Huo.” Qin Chu put down the glass of red wine he was holding onto a nearby stand and was in the midst of turning away when Huo Mian grabbed his sleeve. His heart skipped a beat as he felt the amount of pain that was arising in his heart.

“Qin Chu, I will give you another chance to explain everything to me. Tell me, why do you want a divorce? If you are in love with someone else, just tell me and I will let you guys be. If you’re under a lot of stress because of dad’s health condition, I will bear the reasonability with you. Don’t be like this anymore, don’t try to take on everything on your own. It makes me really sad.”

“You’re thinking too much. The real reason why I want to have the divorce…” Qin Chu paused for a moment, and in the corner of his eye, he saw Huo Siqian standing nearby with a smirk on his face while watching their conversation unfold. Qin Chu clenched his jaw and continued, “It’s not because of any of those ridiculous external factors. The real reason is that I’m tired of it all, after all these years.
