“Rick… It’s really been a long time. The last time I saw you was probably at Little Bean and Pudding’s one month birthday party? They’re already three years old now…”

“Yeah. Time sure flies fast. Let’s board the helicopter first, and I’ll take you guys to New Orleans. That’s my territory.”

Then, Rick led Huo Mian and Qin Chu into his helicopter.

“Wait… there’s one more thing that I have to deal with.” Rick turned around and glared icily at the motel. “Burn it all.”

“Yes, Boss.”

By Rick’s command, the motel turned into ashes. This was all because the owner was on the gangsters’ side.

Huo Mian started to feel rattled as she sensed that the Rick she was looking at now wasn’t exactly the Rick she knew, even though he looked exactly the same.

However, she couldn’t describe what was different about him.

The helicopter flew towards New Orleans.

When Huo Mian first heard ‘New Orleans’, she thought of the chicken wings KFC sold…

She now knew that New Orleans was a beautiful city.

It was just as beautiful as bigger cities like Los Angeles and New York.

The night view was dazzling.

The helicopter landed where Rick lived. The place was basically a castle on a hill.

Although it looked a bit antiquated, it was a rather delicate piece of art.

It was different than South Hill Manor because South Hill Manor looked much more modern.

Rick’s house was truly a castle. Apparently, it was built 120 years ago.

Rick led Qin Chu and Huo Mian directly into the dining area.

The chefs were hustling and bustling to prepare all sorts of extravagant dishes.

“Let’s talk while we eat,” Rick gestured.

Qin Chu acted like a gentleman and pulled out Huo Mian’s chair for her.

Then he placed a white napkin on her legs. He was quite considerate.

“It’s been years, but Chu still loves you so much.” Rick smiled.

“Rick, it’s been years, and you’ve learned how to joke around…” Huo Mian also smiled.

“He can only joke around with us. After all, he doesn’t have that many friends,” Qin Chu said.

“Why are you putting it like you’re my only friend?” Rick did not agree with Qin Chu’s statement.

Qin Chu then asked, “Think more carefully. Don’t you think it’s true though?”

“Of course not. Huo Mian’s also my friend so I at least have two friends.”

“She doesn’t count. She’s my wife so we count as one,” Qin Chu argued.

Rick gave in as he put two hands in front of him and waved his head. “Okay, you win Mr. Arrogant Qin.”

The three chatted while enjoying the food. Huo Mian actually didn’t really care whether the food was good or not because she enjoyed the conversation so much with her long lost friend.

“Why would you two be staying at a motel… It’s not your style…” Rick asked.

“Pathetic, isn’t it? It’s her idea,” Qin Chu said as he took a bite of steak.

“Hey, don’t blame me for this. You agreed to it too!” Huo Mian pouted.

“I wanted to drive a few more hours and stay in Auckland for the night. There’s plenty of five-star hotels there.”

“I was worried you’d be tired, okay? Plus, it’s not safe to drive in the dark! The roads might be slippery.” Huo Mian pouted.

“Yes, Honey. You are right…”

Rick watched as Qin Chu spoiled his wife…

He felt happy for them. After all, Rick and Gao Ran knew what difficult times Qin Chu and Huo Mian had been through in their relationship.

As a bystander, he thought of their relationship as an epic love story… Qin Chu and Huo Mian’s loved each other touched him so many times.

“Pudding and Little Bean are already three years old. I bet they’re talkative?” Rick’s eyes flickered softly.
