“Um, Mommy, aren’t you supposed to knock? Where are your manners?” Little Bean asked, not sure how else to react.

“I don’t have manners? At least I didn’t talk about my mom behind her back…” Huo Mian pretended to be angry.

“I was just joking with Handsome Su, ha… I would never talk about Mommy that way, she’s the prettiest woman in the world… She’s smart, gentle, nice, understanding…” Little Bean then proceeded to do what she did best – kiss ass.

“Stop right there.” Huo Mian raised a hand, and Little Bean immediately shut her mouth; her mom was the ultimate authority in the family; even Qin Chu had to listen to her.

Therefore, Little Bean would never piss Mommy off for no reason. She stood there quietly, not daring to say a word.

Huo Mian walked up to Little Bean and picked up the phone to see Su Yu. “So, she was talking to you?” she asked, feeling a little awkward.

“Who did you think she was talking to? Gao Boyuan?” Su Yu joked.

Little Bean immediately lit up with embarrassment. “Handsome Su, you can’t sell me out like that!”

“I was only kidding, Little Bean…” Su Yu laughed.

“You can’t kid about that either…” Little Bean was extremely sensitive whenever people talked about her and Gao Boyuan.

“You’re still at work?” Huo Mian saw from the screen that Su Yu was still at Imperial Star.

“Mhm, I was just about to head home,” Su Yu answered.

“Mhm, you should head home soon, or else the roads will be congested… On my way home, Hexi Road South was already completely jammed…” Huo Mian reminded.

“Okay, I’ll talk to you later.” Su Yu nodded.

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

After saying goodbye and hanging up, Huo Mian placed Little Bean’s phone back onto her bedside table. “Little Bean, don’t video call Uncle Su when he’s at work, he’s usually really busy. You can call him on the weekends or in the evenings.”

“Okay, I will, Mommy.” Little Bean nodded obediently.

“Good girl. I’m going to go change then.” Huo Mian lovingly rubbed Little Bean’s head.

“Mommy,” Little Bean suddenly said.

Yeah?”

“Do you feel bad for Handsome Su?” Little Bean was still a child, so she didn’t think too much when she asked Huo Mian this question.

“Why do you think that? What’s there to feel bad for Uncle Su?” Huo Mian curiously turned her head around, wondering why her daughter would think that way.

“Look at him, every time we have dinner together, everyone is in pairs except for him. Even Uncle Zhixin will soon be going out with Auntie Bella… but Handsome Su’s always alone and you guys are all constantly flaunting your love for each other… It seems unfair. On Valentine’s Day, Daddy prepared such a romantic surprise for you and every woman in the city was jealous of you… My sister and I wanted to hang out with Handsome Su that day but he refused… I’m sure he felt bad that day being single…”

“What are you trying to say, Little Bean?” Huo Mian didn’t think about Su Yu’s situation until her daughter brought it up.

“So… can you help him find a girlfriend?” Little Bean asked.

“Me? Help Su Yu find a girlfriend?” Huo Mian was speechless; for one, she didn’t know any single girls. Plus, would Su Yu agree to be set up by her, out of all people? She knew how much Su Yu’s family had tried, would it work if she did it, or would it only make Su Yu more depressed?

“Don’t you want to, Mommy? Don’t you want Handsome Su to find someone he loves?” Little Bean asked in all seriousness.
