“Oh my God! I couldn’t sense or hear you! You scared me!” Huo Mian turned around and was relieved to see that it was Qin Chu.

“I noticed that you were deep in your thoughts so I wanted to play a little prank on you. You’re sure off work early today,” Qin Chu said with a smile.

“I didn’t have anything better to do so I came to see you. I heard you were inspecting the construction site.”

“Yeah. There’s too much media exposure on poor construction lately so I have to be extra careful that it won’t happen to us.”

“So you’re done now? If you’re done, let’s go home. Chu, I’m hungry.” Huo Mian sprang into Qin Chu’s embrace for adoration.

“Okay. I don’t mind if you eat me before we eat dinner. Just so you have something in your tummy…”

“Hey, this is your office…” Huo Mian said timidly.

“It’s fresh and exciting because it’s my office…” Qin Chu teased.

“I’m not going to play with you. Let’s go. The kids are probably home waiting for us.”

“Oh! Are you sure you’re not going to the class reunion this weekend? I need to respond to Han Xu.” Huo Mian remembered.

“Yeah, I’m not going. You and Lingling can go. Come home right away after dinner. You don’t need to get too close with them because they’re no longer as pure as when we were students. I’m worried that they will try to take advantage of you,” Qin Chu warned.

“I understand, Honey.” Huo Mian nodded. Then she picked up her car keys to go downstairs and wait for Qin Chu.

She also responded to Han Xu’s WeChat message. 15 minutes later, Qin Chu came downstairs too and the two drove home.

Very soon, the weekend had arrived. Qin Chu took the kids to the skating rink.

Huo Mian, on the other hand, woke up early. She drove over to Zhu Lingling’s place to pick her up. Huo Mian did not spend too much time making herself pretty – she was just her ordinary self.

She was in a white shirt and grey wool jacket, looking very elegant and classy in it. This outfit suited her current status. In contrast, Zhu Lingling puts much more effort into her looks. She was wearing a v-neck orange dress and wore a gold necklace, as well as donning a jacket from a luxury brand. Her outfit today did a very good job of showcasing her sexy body.

“Wow. Isn’t Director Gao going to be salty when he sees this?” Huo Mian said with astonishment.

“No. I already told him that I’m going to look stunning today. How else will I be able to make my ex regret that he broke up with me, make my husband proud, and make those who had a crush confess to me?”

“Haha, you sure are a genius!” Huo Mian laughed.

“Why are you dressed so low-profile today? You should be wearing clothes that are worth hundreds of thousands of yuan to wow them. Otherwise, they might end up trying to flaunt their wealth in front of you…” Zhu Lingling joked with Huo Mian.

“I’ll pass. This isn’t some sort of charity ball. It’s just a class reunion. I’m just going to be my usual self. But you do look really pretty today. I haven’t seen you so sexy after you had Boyuan.”

“Of course. What kind of mother has the time and effort to make herself look pretty every day? I have to be his and his father’s nanny every day. I also have to look after my own business. Today is the rare day that I can finally breathe…”

Last night, Zhu Lingling had frankly told Huo Mian to pick her up today because Huo Mian’s car was worth tens of thousands. She was one of the richest amongst their classmates.

Although it was a childish intention, Huo Mian still picked Zhu Lingling up. The two best friends chatted as Huo Mian drove. Very soon, they arrived at Southern Ocean Pavilion, the place Han Xu mentioned.

“What the… That purple Ferrari looks so cool! It’s the limited edition that came out at the end of this year. I heard it’s worth two million. Who’s so freaking lavishly rich?” Zhu Lingling exclaimed. When she stepped out of the car, her eyes immediately focused on the purple Ferrari.
