Yang Meirong was not so lucky to avoid the inevitable, so every time Huo Mian saw her, she couldn’t help but talk endlessly about the same thing over and over again.

It was a good thing that Huo Mian knew what her mother was like, and thus she tried not to fuss over it.

After skating, Qin Chu walked out into the cold air with the twins and put them in the car one after another.

“Daddy, are we going home?” Little Bean asked.

Yeah.”

“But, I’m so hungry! I don’t think I can wait till we get home… After all, it’s so far!” Little Bean pouted.

“So, your point being?” Qin Chu couldn’t help but smile at his daughter.

“Daddy, let me finish for her, what she is saying is to find a restaurant nearby and eat first,” Pudding butted in.

“Daddy, I heard a place around here that has really good pork chop rice.” Of course, in Little Bean’s eyes, food was higher than the sky.

“Alright, let’s go eat first then,” Qin Chu finally agreed.

“Daddy, call Mommy and ask if she’s coming or not. Mommy also loves pork chops.” Good thing Little Bean was empathetic enough to not forget her own mommy.

“No need, your mommy went to a class reunion, so she’s probably already eaten.”

“What? Class reunion?? Oh my god, Daddy, what were you thinking of letting Mommy go by herself??” Little Bean’s hands flew to her face in surprise.

Qin Chu closed the door, buckled his own seatbelt, and turned on the car.

“What’s wrong with class reunions?” he looked at the rear-view mirror and replied to his daughter.

“There are no pure motives for class reunions. It is a way for people to either show off their wealth or go after the girl they missed out on previously. Mommy used to be like the goddess of the school, so think about it. Daddy, there must be a lot of men that have thoughts about her. You’re basically putting her in danger!” Little Bean ranted.

“Little Bean, aren’t you afraid that if Mommy hears that, she’ll kill you?” Pudding looked at Little Bean casually.

“There’s only the three of us, why would Mommy hear anything? It’s not like Daddy will betray me. Unless, Sis… you…”

“That’s enough you two, I’ll take you two for food first.” Qin Chu smiled bitterly at himself. It should be no surprise to him, hanging out with these two little devils all day. But regardless, sometimes the things the gossipy Little Bean says still leave him dumbfounded

-In front of the restaurant –

Qin Chu parked the car and was in the midst of leading the twins in. Suddenly, he saw a familiar shadow.

“Daddy, what are you looking at?” Pudding looked up and asked.

“No., nothing. C’mon, let’s go inside.” Qin Chu brought his mind back and walked into the restaurant with his daughters. Upon completing their orders, Qin Chu took out his phone and messaged Huo Mian on Wechat.

“Honey, where are you?”

“I’m at my mother’s, didn’t I just tell you?”

“You’re still there?”

“Yup, still here. Why?” Huo Mian asked curiously.

“Nothing…”

“Do you not believe me? Here, I will facetime you.” Huo Mian immediately sent out the invite.

As Qin Chu accepted the Facetime invite, the familiar background of Huo Mian’s mom’s house filled the background. His mother-in-law was sitting right beside Huo Mian watching TV.

“Honey? What kind of expression is that? Don’t you recognize me?” Huo Mian smiled.

“I just saw…” For a moment, Qin Chu didn’t know how to explain this.

“What did you see?” Huo Mian asked even more curiously because she had never seen such a confused look on Qin Chu’s face.
