“N-nothing …”

“You’re lying.” Pudding was obviously unconvinced.

“Girls, wash yourselves off and go to bed, okay?” Huo Mian lectured.

Seeing that their mommy was in a bad mood, Pudding didn’t say anything else. Huo Mian finished bathing the twins and by the time they fell asleep and she returned to her bedroom, it was already half-past ten.

She walked into the darkroom but did not turn on the lights. She looked down at the scenery below and couldn’t help but sigh; tonight was going to be a sleepless night.

-The next morning –

After Huo Mian parked her car and walked into South Side, she saw a couple of nurses talking amongst themselves in the lobby.

The nurses quickly greeted Huo Mian.

“Good morning, Vice Director.”

“Good morning.” Huo Mian nodded.

After she turned around, she overheard the nurses say, “They really look alike…”

Huo Mian wasn’t interested in gossip, so she didn’t ask them what they were talking about. However, when she went into her office, she noticed Chen Jie’s weird expression.

“Jie, what’s wrong?”

“Chief… Today, the hospital hired a new accountant.”

“This is a big hospital and it’s normal for new hires to come in, isn’t it? Plus, recruiting is not my job.” Huo Mian smiled as she took off her jacket and hung it up. Then she took out her white lab coat and put it on.

“Chief, you haven’t seen the new girl yet, have you?” Chen Jie asked carefully.

“No I haven’t, I just got here. What’s wrong?” Huo Mian felt weird; why was Chen Jie being so cryptic?

“Never mind, I don’t know how to describe her. You’ll see her during our morning meeting.”

“Why are you being so mysterious? Does she look like a superstar or something?” Huo Mian joked.

Fifteen minutes later, however, Huo Mian met Zhang Manlin in their conference room and was shocked to her core…

It was as if she was looking into a mirror or looking at a doppelganger. All the employees at South Side were surprised by how much they looked alike.

Even Chen Jie, who had worked with Huo Mian the longest, wondered how someone could look so much like Huo Mian. ‘Vice Director Huo, hello, my name is Zhang Manlin.”

“Hi, I’m Huo Mian.” Huo Mian was calm, collected, and didn’t lose her cool at all. She suddenly realized why Su Yu messaged her yesterday saying that he saw someone just like her. He really wasn’t joking.

Moreover, this woman was much younger than Huo Mian was, so she looked like a younger version of herself. For some reason, this bothered her very much – if Qin Chu saw her, how would he act?

“Chief, it’s time for our meeting.” Chen Jie carefully reminded Huo Mian, and the latter took out her documents and proceeded with their morning meeting.

Half an hour later, Huo Mian and Chen Jie walked out of the conference room together.

“Vice Director Huo, do you have time? I would like to talk to you.” Zhang Manlin walked up to them.

“Sure.” Huo Mian didn’t refuse; she also wondered what this woman wanted to talk to her about.

To her surprise, as soon as they went into Huo Mian’s office, Zhang Manlin said. “To tell you the truth, Vice Director Huo, I only recently moved to this city in search of a good job. My resume was picked by GK and I was hired, but for some reason, I was fired by President Qin, so I had no choice but to interview here… Then I heard that you’re President Qin’s wife, is that true?”

“I am.” Huo Mian didn’t hide her identity.
