“We’re fine,” Huo Mian responded briefly.

“You’re lying, you guys don’t seem fine at all. Qin Chu’s on the front page of tabloid magazines, and you’re on the front page of Weibo.”

Huo Mian didn’t reply.

“I saw your Weibo post.” Su Yu then typed.

“Oh,” Huo Mian briefly replied.

“Huo Mian, are we friends?” Su Yu asked in all seriousness.

“Of course.”

“Then tell me what happened, I want to help you.”

“We…” Huo Mian didn’t know what to say; she wanted to tell Su Yu that this was all just for show, but Qin Chu told her not to tell anyone – this secret had to stay just between the two of them. After all, Huo Siqian was monitoring everything and everyone; they couldn’t fail at a time like this.

Therefore, Huo Mian didn’t know how to respond to Su Yu; she didn’t want to drag Su Yu into this and make him worried for her, but she knew it was inevitable.

She knew how much Su Yu cared about her; the Weibo post might’ve been for Huo Siqian to see, but Su Yu’s heart probably really ached seeing it.

“Let me ask you this then, did Qin Chu really cheat on you?”

“No, but he really did see Zhang Manlin last night,” Huo Mian replied.

“Zhang Manlin? Haha, I knew she was bad news, I knew it!” Su Yu thought back to everything that had happened since this woman’s appearance.

“Zhang Manlin is a lot like me when I was younger, even Zhixin said so. So… I understand that Qin Chu might feel differently about her,” Huo Mian said slowly.

“You understand? Are you an idiot, Huo Mian? You can understand anything else, but not this. This is twisted, okay? So what if Zhang Manlin looks like you? She’s not you! You’re not the same person! We see similar faces in the entertainment industry every day, but the fake will never replace the original, I know this more than anyone! Aside from her face, Zhang Manlin is nothing like you! How can a shallow woman like her compare to you!” Su Yu exclaimed emotionally.

Upon hearing Su Yu’s rant, Huo Mian fell silent. Just as she was going to respond, Su Yu asked, “Huo Mian, what happened to you? You used to be so scary and confident! This isn’t you!”

“Su Yu, the truth is… I’m scared. I’m scared that I might not be the only apple of Qin Chu’s eye anymore… What if he really leaves me? What should I do then? After all, he’s the only reason for my happiness,” Huo Mian said sadly.

Su Yu felt his heart ache for this woman and himself.
