“Uh-huh.” Huo Mian gave a short but confirming answer.

“I see it’s real then… I guess the situation is not as simple as I thought.”

“Su Yu, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry about me.”

“Bull sh!t, how can I not be fucking worried when you’re like this already?”

Su Yu would very rarely yell at Huo Mian, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

Huo Mian downcasted her eyes and didn’t say anything.

“Let me ask you something. Does the problem stem from Zhang Manlin? If she’s gone, will the problem be solved?”

“What are you trying to do? Su Yu, don’t do anything rash,” Huo Mian’s heart sank slightly. The words that came out of Su Yu’s mouth scared her a little.

“What am I trying to do? I’m obviously trying to help my friend. On Qin Chu’s side, I will find a time to talk to him. Don’t be too sad, okay? For the next couple of days, if you need to go home then you should go home, or else the kids will miss you.”

“I know, I’m going back to the South Hill Manor today.”

“Good.”

“Su Yu, don’t mess with Zhang Manlin. I’m afraid that it will only make things worse because Qin Chu might think I made you do it and make the misunderstanding even deeper.”

“I’m not that rash, we’ll see how it goes.”

“Okay.” Huo Mian hung up the phone and couldn’t help but feel guilty.

Huo Mian and Qin Chu were merely putting on a show, but in the end, it still got Su Yu involved, and they couldn’t even explain it to clear up the misunderstanding.

Huo Siqian put down his earphones and fell into deep thought after hearing Huo Mian and Su Yu’s conversation.

Based on their conversation, it sounded like Mian and Qin Chu really had a fight, and that she was vexing over it. Su Yu, on the other hand, also sounded genuinely worried.

But… was all of it real? Or, was it all a show?

There was no doubt that Huo Siqian was a suspicious person. It was no surprise that he was constantly wondering what the real truth was, despite how Zhang Manlin had told him Qin Chu’s reactions. He still was a bit skeptical even when his spy within South Hill Manor had been watching Qin Chu and Huo Mian’s every moment.

After all, this was his last fight. He had played the last card that took him five years to plan. If he loses again this time, it will be truly game over.

Yes, Master Ian already returned back to Pakistan. Apparently, someone messed up an important military armory shipment.”

“Good. It’s good to keep him busy, that way he won’t be able to keep staring down my back.”

“Boss, what’s going to happen on Ian’s side? Will he really let you go easily when everything is done and you leave with Miss Huo?”

“None of this is a problem. As long as Mian is willing to leave with me, I can take care of everything else.” Huo Siqian sounded rather confident.

When Huo Mian got off work and walked through the door, Little Bean came running with a bear hug and started crying.

“Little Bean, what’s wrong! Don’t scare Mommy.” Anxiously, Huo Mian threw down her bag and lifted up the chubby Little Bean.

“Mommy! Where were you? I missed you so much!! Why did you leave Sis and me behind when you and Daddy are fighting? We don’t want to be punished because of you guys!!”

“Uh… Sorry, Mommy shouldn’t have left, Mommy will never do that again.”

“Where’s your sis?” Huo Mian looked around the house and noticed Pudding wasn’t home.

“Sis went to Auntie Xiaowei’s home to look for Wei Yunchu.”

“Why didn’t you go too?”

“Mommy, are you confused? If I were to go, I would be going to Auntie Lingling’s house! Gao Boyuan is my kind of boy,” Huo Mian didn’t know what to say… She couldn’t believe kids these days.
