“You again?” Huo Mian smiled as she watched Jiang Ye appear in her sight.

Jiang Ye sighed out loud, “I have no choice because of President Su. He keeps a tighter watch on you than your husband, I can’t even have a chat with you.”

Huo Mian chuckled out loud, “He’s like that, very straightforward. To him, something is either right or wrong, he won’t pretend.”

“I know. President Su doesn’t actually dislike me, or we wouldn’t be cooperating at work. But, I do know that he doesn’t like anyone being near you.”

“He thinks I’m too quiet and is afraid that I’d get bullied,” Huo Mian explained.

“I know.”

“Did you want to talk to me about something? Since you’re here looking for me?” Huo Mian remembered suddenly. It seemed like Jiang Ye wanted to tell her something that was rather important previously but was interrupted by Su Yu’s arrival. Or else, he wouldn’t have chased her all the way from Nantian Hot Springs.

“Yes, I wanted to tell you,” Jiang Ye began, before quickly being interrupted by Huo Mian, “Jiang Ye. I know you still have feelings for me. But, it’s impossible between us. You know that I have my husband and kids. I have a family. But, even if I didn’t and I was single, I wouldn’t like you. You’re not the type of man that I like, so stop wasting your energy and time.”

“No… Dr. Huo, I was actually going to say…” Jiang Ye tried to continue.

“How about this, I will treat you dinner. However, this will be the last goodbye. Don’t come looking for me anymore. You are different from Su Yu. You and I are not friends. So, don’t be delusional in thinking that you can get something out of me.” Huo Mian’s tone sounded as cold as ice.

Jiang Ye’s eyes opened wide. He was confused about why Huo Mian had such a big reaction. What was more, he was completely dumbfounded by what Huo Mian said.

However, as he examined Huo Mian, he noticed her eyes shifting as if she was hinting something.

Jiang Ye had been in the entertainment business for years now, he wasn’t an idiot. Immediately, he followed suit and lead on, “Dr. Huo, I actually really like you. I’m not just playing around, so I don’t want to use any schemes. If I needed women, I can get a batch of them within the entertainment circle. They’d all be younger, prettier, and hotter. But, those girls aren’t what I like.”

“What’s the point of saying that? There’s no point.”

“I know, but it hurts too much to give up on you! How about I put it this way, the media’s been saying your relationship with your husband has been very strained, and that it might lead to a divorce.”

“Your husband already betrayed you! He doesn’t deserve your love. Why don’t you come with me, I will treat you well.” “Don’t make me laugh! Come with you? I might as well be with Su Yu,” Huo Mian laughed coldly.

“But, can you promise that Su Yu won’t cheat on you?” Jiang Ye asked.

“So how can you promise me that you won’t cheat?” Huo Mian smirked at him.

“I’m not like them. Those that appear to be a playboy on the outside are really the loyal ones, I’m actually…”

“Forget it. This is my office where I work, I don’t want to talk to you about these matters.”

Jiang Ye remained silent.

“I will treat you to dinner, and we will have a thorough talk. After that, hurry up and go back to Jing City, don’t ever come to find me again.” As Huo Mian finished speaking, she grabbed a report and lead the way out of her office. Jiang Ye followed.

The door closed with a bam.

“Boss, looks like they went out, should we have them followed?” Ah-Cheng asked Huo Siqian.

Huo Siqian put down the wiretap and shook his head. “No need. A piece of garbage like Jiang Ye is not worth my time. He won’t be having any chance to harass my Mian anymore in the future.”

After leaving the South Side, Jiang Ye and Huo Mian both arrived at a discreet coffee shop near an exit of the highway. “Dr. Huo, what just happened? Is your office wire-tapped?” Jiang Ye asked.
