“Oh. I see. That’s disturbing… Did Huo Siqian do it?” Jiang Ye continued to guess.

“Uh-huh.”

“Holy shit, what a creep, he really tried to get in through every opening. But, why are you so calm knowing that your office is wired?”

“I’m just thinking of going with his plans because even if I got rid of the wires this time, I wouldn’t know where he’d put it next.”

“Going with his plans? Oh, I get it. You and Qin Chu have been putting on a show then?” Jiang Ye had a eureka moment.

Huo Mian didn’t answer. In her heart, she didn’t want another person to know this matter. If somehow Huo Siqian overheard it, then all the work would be for nothing.

It was almost as if Jiang Ye knew what Huo Mian was thinking.

“Huo Mian, rest assured. I won’t tell anyone,” he promised in a serious tone.

“Thank you.”

“No need to thank me. Huo Siqian… he is my enemy as well.”

You want to avenge Mo Xue’er?” Huo Mian asked.

“Not avenge per se. First of all, Mo Xue’er and I were just fuckbuddies, there were no real emotions. Second, I’m not that unaware of my abilities to think I can be Huo Siqian’s opponent. But, the enemy of an enemy is a friend, so, I won’t mention the show you two have been putting on to anyone.”

“What were you going to tell me while we were at the office?” Huo Mian asked, thinking he must have something very important to tell her. Not only that, it looked like it was related to Huo Siqian, so she had to interrupt him. If Huo Siqian heard everything, she couldn’t imagine what would happen.

“Right, it’s pretty important. If it weren’t for Su Yu’s surprise visit, I would have told you at the Nantian Springs.”

“You can tell me now, we’re safe.”

“Yes, but they came back to sell the house and take care of some of their old belongings. A friend of mine actually purchased their property, so I was there that day as well. Guess what I found at their house?”

“What?”

“Song Yishi’s diary.” Jiang Ye looked around cautiously before answering.

“Song Yishi’s diary? What can it possibly contain?” Huo Mian narrowed her eyes. She remembered the time when Song Yishi was controlled by Huo Siqian and wrote a diary that led Qin Chu to become a suspected murderer. In her subconsciousness, she was disgusted by the word ‘diary’.

“You’re not seeing the point. The diary that went public after Song Yishi’s death, yes, it was written by her. But, she didn’t do it out of her own will, it was used to frame Qin Chu.”

“Correct,” Huo Mian nodded.

“But, this is a real diary that was handwritten by Song Yishi.”

“What’s the timeframe? Was it way before or after? If it’s from a long time ago, it probably doesn’t have a lot of value. There are probably not a lot of clues, especially during the years when she was studying abroad. Most likely, it will just be the typical life of a rich girl.”

“No, it’s not from a long time ago, it’s after she got married to Huo Siqian.” Jiang Ye lowered his voice.
