After Riley fed Jack the medicine, Jack dropped to the ground, feeling too exhausted.

“Riley… You can’t outplay this woman. If you’re not careful and let her escape, watch how Huo Siqian deals with you.”

As Riley and Huo Mian walked out, Jack was still cursing behind them.

Huo Mian said with a smile, “Jack seems to think that I, a fragile woman, can escape from a group of men with heavy weapons.”

Riley glanced at Huo Mian but remained silent.

When they came out, the sun was high in the sky.

It was hot on the island and the UV radiation was strong. After walking on the island for a little while, they were drenched in sweat.

“When will he wake up?”

There were groceries and beverages including red wine, steaks, and even frozen seafood.

Huo Mian knew Huo Siqian didn’t like eating seafood, so he had prepared it for her.

Then, one man carried a big box over and put it at Huo Mian’s feet.

“The boss prepared this specifically for Miss Huo,” the man said in English.

“Don’t you want to open it and see what’s inside?” Riley asked Huo Mian.

Huo Mian squatted down slowly; when she opened the box, warmth rose in her heart.

It contained lots of infant clothes, including small socks, caps in both pink and blue colors.

There were also milk bottles, formula milk, and even some health care products for pregnant women.

“The boss specifically instructed me to bring these here. They were made in Germany and are the most expensive kinds,” said Riley.

“I can see.”

“So, don’t make plans to escape. Just stay here; after all, the boss is good to you…”

“Well, you mean I can’t hate him; instead, I must be grateful to him.” Huo Mian sneered.

“Of course, you must be grateful to him. Everything you have now was given by him.” Riley seemed very respectful to Huo Siqian and didn’t like Huo Mian to say anything against him.

Inhaling deeply, Huo Mian stood up slowly; she looked at Riley and said, “A thief stole a chicken from the chicken’s house during the midnight. After he escaped with the chicken, the chicken house caught on fire, and the chicken found that if it wasn’t stolen, it would have died in the fire, so it was grateful to the thief. In your logic, even though Huo Siqian, your noble boss, kidnapped me and keeps me from my husband and my children, I must be grateful to him because he let me live and gives me good food and good clothes, right?”

Riley didn’t answer.

“I can’t allow you to speak of my boss in this way!” Riley looked angry.

“He’s your boss, not mine…” Then, Huo Mian turned and walked toward the cottage in a huff.

Entering the cottage, she stood at the window and watched the men anxiously.

She wondered if her plan would succeed.
