“How did he know that I’m here?” Huo Mian remembered clearly that she hadn’t told Qin Ning her detailed address, not to mention Qin Chu.

“I can explain, Madam. Didn’t you call home? Miss Qin answered it and then contacted Mr. Qin. Mr. Qin had us find out your position according to the conversation you had with Miss Qin. We found the telephone booth you used and knew you’d not be far, so we asked about you in the nearby hotels and motels…”

“I see… Then why didn’t my husband call me?” Huo Mian asked.

“His situation is a bit tricky since someone is following him, and it’s not convenient for him to come. To ensure your safety, he arranged for us to take you to a safe place to meet him.”

“Oh, I see…” Huo Mian still looked hesitant.

“Madam, if you don’t believe me, I have a recording of our conversation with Mr. Qin. You can listen to it.”

The man named Kevin took out his cellphone and walked to stand before Huo Mian.

He pulled out a number in his Recent Calls and sure enough, it was Qin Chu’s cellphone number.

Then, Kevin played the audio clip.

Huo Mian came closer and listened.

“You guys go get her; we’ll meet later.”

It was a simple sentence, but the voice indeed was Qin Chu’s.

“Can I give him a call right now?” Huo Mian looked at Kevin and asked.

He looked surprised at Huo Mian’s request.

“But President Qin is now on a plane again and has turned off his cellphone… Maybe you can call him when he lands?”

“Okay.” Huo Mian nodded.

“But you can’t stay here. Madam, you must go with us because Huo Siqian’s men are looking for you. This place isn’t safe.”

“Erm. Okay.”

“Then come and get in the car.”

“Where are we going? Did my husband tell you where we’ll meet?”

“We’re waiting for further instructions from President Qin. We must take you to a safe place to protect you for the time being.”

Kevin smiled to show his friendliness.

Looking at Kevin and the dozen or so black-clothed brawny foreign men, Huo Mian nodded and decided not to ask more questions.

Kevin opened the door of the black Bentley for Huo Mian.

After she got into the car, Kevin showed a smug smile.

After the car drove for about ten minutes, Huo Mian found they were leaving this town; she got uneasy instantly.

When they were passing a supermarket, Huo Mian suddenly held her belly with a painful expression on her face.

“It hurts. My belly hurts so much…”

“What’s wrong, Madam?”

“I feel like I’m about to have a miscarriage…”

“Miscarriage? Are you pregnant?” Kevin looked very surprised.

“Yeah. Didn’t my husband tell you that?”

“President Qin… didn’t have the time to tell us the details,” Kevin explained.

“It hurts so much… Can you drive me to a hospital?”

“The hospitals in this place are not well equipped. I’ll take you to our place where we have private doctors and good medical devices.” Kevin seemed reluctant to let Huo Mian out of the car in the middle of their journey.

“Then find me a washroom first. My belly hurts very much, and I need to go to the washroom… I can’t do it in the car, right?” Huo Mian frowned.

“Um…”

After a moment of consideration, Kevin glanced at the chauffeur.

“Pull up the car. We’ll walk Madam to the washroom,” Kevin ordered.

The car pulled up slowly near the front door of the superstore.

“I can go in alone. You don’t have to trouble yourselves and go in with me,” said Huo Mian.

“No. We must protect you as President Qin told us.” Kevin got out of the car after Huo Mian with four of his men.
