They were surprised that the kid had asked to live in a boarding school in another city; it was a good solution to his problem and would meet the Wei Family’s requirement. Shen Mingxi nodded finally.

“Okay. I’ll get on with it tomorrow.”

He didn’t notice the ironic smile on Tiantian’s lips.

“Oh, by the way, shall I meet my mom before I go? I’m afraid she’d come and harass you and Aunt Wei Ying.”

Under the child’s innocent eyes, the two adults looked guilty.

“No. I’ll handle it,” Shen Mingxi said vaguely.

“Okay, I’ll go back to my room now; I’ve not been in school for a while and missed many classes… I wonder if the curriculum of the schools here is different from that in Singapore,” Tiantian said it as she walked out of the study.

“Mingxi, she doesn’t know the thing about her mom?”

“No.”

“When will you tell her?” Wei Ying looked worried.

“I’ll tell her when the time is right. I’m afraid she can’t accept it if I tell her now. Anyway, she lost the last family member she had… I’ll get on with the enrollment procedure for her school now. After she settles down in Jing City, I’ll tell her.”

“Good.”

“Ying… we… In the current situation, I might not be able to give you a big wedding.”

“What are you talking about? We don’t need a big wedding. We had a big one before. I think…we can just get married at the registration office of the Civil Affairs Bureau.” Wei Ying wanted to make things easy for Shen Mingxi.

“Okay. Tell me what you want. After we marry, I’ll transfer half of my personal property in the company to your name.”

“You don’t have to do it, Mingxi…” Wei Ying was flattered.

Shen Mingxi stood up and took her into his arms. Touching the hair before her forehead, he said, “I must. Now that the problem of Tiantian was solved, the Wei Family gave in reluctantly since Wei Ying was determined.

Shen Mingxi and Wei Ying remarried on the fifth day after Tiantian went to her school.

They didn’t invite anyone or have a banquet. They just went to the Civil Affairs Bureau and got marriage certificates.

Then they bought some groceries at a supermarket and had a hot pot meal at home. It was truly low-key.

Su Yu had a nightmare in which Huo Mian was covered in blood.

“Mian… Hold on… You must hold on…”

“Su Yu, go! Don’t mind me…” Huo Mian said with all her strength.

“Mian…” Su Yu yelled and woke up from the dream, feeling stinging pain from his head.

Lately, he had nightmares frequently. He glanced at his cellphone and saw it was 2 AM. The sky was still black.
