The senior Mrs. Qin tried to recall the details of last night.

“Last night I saw your daddy seeing someone off… your mommy probably left at that moment.”

“Did something happen in Grandma’s home?” Pudding guessed.

Qin Chu: “Zhao Qingya has high-level hackers working for her and they even monitored my phone conversations with Mian. They must have spies here, so Huo Mian didn’t dare to tell you guys, fearing it would put Su Yu in danger. I tried to investigate Zhao Qingya in the States; she got angry and sent Huo Mian a video clip in which Su Yu was shot twice. It was her warning.”

Tang Chuan: “What? He was shot?”

He was terrified, so were the others.

Qin Chu: “They shot his collarbones and he’s still alive. Zhao Qingya did it as a warning to Mian.”

Wei Liao: “That woman is crazy. But it’s even more dangerous for them.”

Of course, Wei Liao referred to Huo Mian and Su Yu.

The strange thing was that while the others were expressing their opinions, Zhu Lingling, Huo Mian’s bestie, had been silent with her head lowered.

“Lingling, what’s wrong?”

Hearing his words, the others fell silent.

Huo Mian’s promises were never empty; after getting so many favors from the Su Family, she’d never back off when Su Yu needed her help.

“Lingling, stop it.” Gao Ran couldn’t let her continue, knowing these words would only make Qin Chu feel worse.
