Even though he saved their lives, Su Yu still despised him.

“I’m a little tired too, the baby has been moving quite often. Let’s rest.”

“Sell mine, it’s cheaper.”

Huo Mian didn’t want Su Yu to sell his watch, so she took off the limited edition platinum Cartier watch on her wrist.

“No, it’s fine. I have lots of watches anyways.”

Seeing Huo Mian taking off her watch made Su Yu feel bad. He walked towards a house and knocked on the door.

After a while, a girl who looked to be fifteen or so opened the door.

“Who are you looking for?” her voice sounded timid.

“Little girl, we’re… Tourists. We got lost, we’re really hungry. Can you give us something to eat?”

The girl’s eyes looked very naive, like she had never seen any evil in the world.

“Don’t worry, we won’t just eat your food. We can exchange it for valuables,” Su Yu added.

“Grandma, a man with his friends say that they’re lost and hungry. They say they’re tourists and want to eat, is that okay?”

The girl seemed to ask an elder in the house.

The old woman said something in a dialect that Su Yu couldn’t understand.

The girl opened the door and said in a friendly tone, “My grandma said yes. You can come in.”

Just like that, Su Yu, Huo Siqian, and Huo Mian finally found a place to rest.

However, the family lived in absolute poverty.

There was nothing in the house, and the walls were falling apart. It was apparent that the girl and the old woman didn’t live a good life.

“Little girl, is there something to eat?” Su Yu asked, thinking that Huo Mian must be starving.

“Is corn paste okay? That’s all we have.” The child’s eyes remained pure, making Su Yu feel pity for her.
