Qin Chu made his decision as soon as he arrived. Although he felt his heartbreaking when the doctor asked him if he wanted to save the mother or child, he immediately told the doctor to save the mother, even though he loved their child very much.

After Huo Mian’s induced labor, the doctor brought out a fetus with blood all over his body. The doctor told Qin Chu that the fetus was close to being of term and he would’ve been a healthy boy if the explosion hadn’t caused a massive hemorrhage in Huo Mian.

Qin Chu cried for an entire hour outside the OR… he silently shed his tears for his unborn child.

“Qin Chu… I’m so sorry.” Su Yu was so guilty that he felt like he was going to die. At this very moment, he was so jealous of Huo Siqian – this explosion and his death cleared the scoreboard between himself and Huo Mian.

However, Su Yu was left with a debt so heavy he could barely breathe.

“This isn’t your fault, it’s our baby’s fate. Plus, the kidnappers didn’t come for you, so don’t be sad… take care of yourself.” Even at his worst, Qin Chu still acted calmly. He knew this incident wasn’t Su Yu’s fault. After all, the kidnappers used Su Yu like a scapegoat.

“If it weren’t for Huo Siqian, Mian and I would’ve died,” Su Yu said.

“The police found Huo Siqian’s DNA in the explosion. I was going to ask you about what happened later.”

“Huo Siqian betrayed that woman. She thought he was Jack this entire time, but at the last moment, he helped Mian and I escape. Someone ambushed us while we were trying to escape… Mian had explosives with her and was going to destroy Leila along with herself, but Huo Siqian snatched Mian’s explosives from her… at least I think that’s what happened.” Su Yu carefully recollected the events of that day.

“Thanks, you should get some rest. We can talk about the rest later.”

“Qin Chu, I…” Su Yu wanted to say something else; the guilt was eating him alive. The fetus was anticipated by Huo Mian and everyone in her family. She carried him for almost ten months, and it died… in the blink of an eye. Huo Mian even almost died with his baby boy.

Imagine how sad she will be once she hears that her baby is gone. Su Yu shook his head, trying to shove away the devastating thought in his head. He knew there was no point in staying outside the OR, so he walked back to his room, his bodyguards following close behind.

Qin Chu thought back at what happened.

After defeating that giant man, he went back to the bamboo tower, but it was empty aside from Mr. Y, whom Zhao Qingya poisoned.

Qin Chu was very annoyed; he didn’t like the feeling of being controlled by his enemy. On his way back, Su Yu’s family called him to tell him about the explosion. They told him that Su Yu and Huo Mian were admitted to the military hospital for treatment.

Upon receiving the phone call, Qin Chu all but ran to the hospital. It was there he received the devastating news of his wife’s miscarriage. Qin Chu winced in pain at the thought of his unconscious wife.

After Su Yu left, someone else came looking for Qin Chu.

The man, who had a head of silver hair, was wearing a navy-blue Russian uniform paired with knee-high army boots. At least a dozen of his men waited outside the hospital as he walked up to greet Qin Chu. “Chu…”

Qin Chu was extremely surprised to see Qiao Fei. “Fei, why are you here?”
