“Don’t be scared, Ms. Huo, this is your home now. You need to recuperate.” The maid carefully reached out to tuck Huo Mian in, but the latter grabbed her wrist.

“This isn’t my home; I need to go.” Although she had just woken up, she wasn’t suffering from amnesia. She remembered everything that happened: from Huo Siqian stealing the explosives from her to Leila’s death.

She widened her eyes as she thought back at the explosion; it was as if she could see Huo Siqian’s body blowing up into a million pieces.

At this thought, Huo Mian’s tears began to well up in her eyes. She wasn’t dreaming, right? Huo Siqian was dead. He definitely died.

Where was Su Yu? He was in that explosion with her. Huo Mian quickly sat up on the bed; now was not the time to recuperate.

She pushed away Messiah’s hand and tried to lift herself off of the bed, but her entire body gave in…

“Ms. Huo, you’re weak from the explosion, you really need to take care of yourself for the sake of your unborn child… when we saved you, you were on the brink of miscarriage… you almost lost your baby.”

Huo Mian immediately looked down at her belly upon hearing what Messiah said. Thank goodness her baby was still here.

“Our master performed surgery on you herself… don’t worry, he’s okay now.”

“Who is your master?” Huo Mian asked. She knew people called Leila Young Master, so was Leila related to ‘Master’?

The maid didn’t respond. After a few seconds of silence, she replied slowly. “Get some rest, someone will answer all your questions very soon.”

“How am I supposed to get any rest when my friend might be dead? I need to go look for him.”

Huo Mian was talking about Su Yu; he was with her before she passed out. Was he dead?

“You can’t go looking for him.” Messiah knew who Huo Mian was referring to.

“Why not?” Huo Mian, pale from exhaustion, looked up at the unfamiliar face in front of her.

Messiah didn’t respond…

“Is he dead?” Huo Mian felt tears welling up in her eyes.

“No, he’s not dead.”

“Then why can’t I go looking for him?” Huo Mian asked.

“Because you’re on the other side of the world.”

“Where am I?” Only then did Huo Mian realize that she was very far away from the forest in Yunnan.

“Somewhere you’ve never been before.”

“So, you’re the people behind Leila?” Huo Mian suddenly came to some realization. Her pupils dilated, and she felt her entire body shiver.

“Ms. Huo, you’re still recovering… you should get some rest.”

“I don’t want to rest, who are you? You…” Before Huo Mian could finish her thought, Messiah raised her hand and gently waved it in front of Huo Mian. Then, she passed out.

After Messiah tucked an unconscious Huo Mian back in, she left the room quietly.

“She woke up?” Lin Ya asked. She was wearing a crystal mask and an elegant gown, looking like true loyalty. A beautiful scarlet macaw stood obediently in the palm of her hand, obviously frightened of its owner.
