“You said those words to Su Yu just to make me angry, right?”

“There’s nothing wrong with me having meals with Su Yu. I have done it many times in the past years. While you were in the States, I had meals with Su Yu almost every day… Do you have a problem with that?” Huo Mian said the words just to make Qin Chu angry.

“Do you think it’s fun to act like this?”

Qin Chu’s eyes were full of disappointment; it was better to make Leila believe that he was disappointed in Huo Mian instead of suspecting that she was an imposter.

“What else can I do? My husband ignores me; can’t I get some comfort from another man?”

“Hehe… suit yourself.” Finally, Qin Chu sneered.

Furious at his sneer, she followed him and grabbed his arm.

But Qin Chu threw her hand off ruthlessly because he hated to be touched by this woman.

“Qin Chu, you don’t want to live with me, right? We can divorce…”

“Divorce? In your dreams.”

Tossing the words at her, he walked into the house.

Huo Mian stood there, feeling truly angry.

Although she wasn’t Huo Mian, she had entered the role so deeply that she felt a moment of despair when Qin Chu treated her so coldly.

She had thought Qin Chu would cherish her as much as he had done with Huo Mian.

It seemed her master was right; men were fickle, even a man as excellent as Qin Chu.

As Qin Chu and Huo Mian walked into the house separately, Qin Chu’s mother felt bad.

At supper time, Qin Chu stayed in the study and didn’t come out to eat.

Worried, Qin Chu’s mother brought a platter of supper to the study.

“Chu.”

“Mom, what are you doing here?”

Qin Chu rubbed his temples. In fact, he had no work to do in the study, but he’d feel a headache whenever he saw that woman.

To ensure his family’s safety, he had put many hidden cameras in the house to monitor her 24/7.

“You’ve looked pale for the last couple of days. What’s wrong? Is it busy in the company?”

His mother put the supper on the desk and pointed at the broth.

“The bone broth is very tasty. Drink it while it’s warm.”

“Thank you, Mom.”

Qin Chu felt comforted by his mother’s concern. Tiredly, he picked up the bowl and sipped the broth.

“Chu, did you fight with Mian?”

“No.” Qin Chu denied.

“Chu, Mian did a lot for our family… Don’t argue with her even though she is willful sometimes. It will be fine when she feels better. You can’t let the family fall apart.” His mother advised him painstakingly.

Hearing his mother’s words, Qin Chu smiled bitterly.

“No. I won’t let it fall apart… I’m always faithful to Mian.”

“Good. Talk to Mian more often and spend more time with her.”

“Okay.” Qin Chu agreed readily.

After his mother went downstairs, he glanced at the bug planted in his study and smiled.

At the dinner table downstairs, Leila clearly heard Qin Chu’s conversation with his mother through the mini tapping device in her ear.

It seemed she had worried for nothing because Qin Chu didn’t suspect her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have said he was always faithful to Mian, right?
