Chapter 42

1. Dentist

Falling For My Exchange Brother | BOOK 1,2,3

5 Yrs Later...

"Please work with me!" I cry, pulling Ava - trying to at least, to the car. Arthur upstairs trying to wake Isabella up as these two still haven't become accustomed to the eastern timing.

They sleep like it's night in the day and stay awake like crazy at night. I guess when I first met Arthur he stayed up at night...example, the first day him and I met.

"I'm tired!"

"I am too! But it's time to go."

"Go where?" Ava asked, sitting up as she got in car and I smile. Trying to come up with something better than the dentist.

I hate the dentist just as much as the next kid, but it's just a regular check-up and Arthur is getting one too. I just didn't tell him...he thinks it's just for the kids.

Here's a recollection of what I said:

"The kids have to go to the dentist tomorrow, the kids at heart too."

So to sum it all up, Arthur is in there too since he's a child at heart. It was a cute trick of words that he obviously wouldn't notice.

"It's a fun little place that has three levels and gives away nice little toys when you get a nasty gold coin for letting ugly people explore a place we like to keep sealed closed." I say happily, smiling tightly as she narrows her eyes at me.

"Is it the dentist." She says numbly, making me shrug as she sighs." Why didn't you just say so? We are nine years old, I can take the dentist. It's Isabella you should worry about, so."

I watched her lay back down in the car and I look away, watching Arthur walk towards me holding a sleeping Isabella in his arms. A grin on his face as he laid her next to Ava and closed the door softly.

"I kinda feel bad that we have to take them to the dentist." Arthur whines, looking through the window as he faces me." We should get them something to eat after."

"Doesn't that go against the reason why we go? They get their teeth cleaned then leave to get them dirty. Besides, I always liked the dentist. I like to know I'm leaving with a brighter smile than before." I state, making Arthur smile as I look away." Stop showing off your perfect teeth."

I smirk, entertained that he still has no clue that he's going to the dentist as well. It's small little tricks like this that make my day.

Until he's grabbing my hand and pulling me towards him. His hand cradling my cheek and feeling his thumb graze my jaw.

"You didn't shave I see. I remembered to shave my little stumbles." He said, rubbing his jaw and I gasp as I feel mine.

"I completely forgot! Trying to get them up for the dentist... Man, now I know how my mom feels when I was a child." I groan, Arthur shaking his head as he kissed my cheek.

"My daughters are probably much easier than you were. Sorry, but they aren't spoiled rotten like you, mon amour. But because you were so spoiled it brought us together! Merci Beaucoup!" He screamed, smiling and I roll my eyes because it's somewhat true.

"Yes, but you still loved me."

"Oui. I did. It'd be wrong of me not to. It's what made you William and I couldn't ask for anything better."

I blush, about to kiss him until I heard a knock on glass. Looking to see Isabella glaring at the two of us as Ava laughed.

"We were caught." He mumbled, still giving me a peck on the lips as he rushed around the car. Making me laugh as I got in and once we were all set I looked at the two of them. Ava already knowing where we were going and judging on Isabella's sour look she knew too.

"The dentist is a fun place." I hear Arthur saying, all three of us looking at him like he's a weirdo. I like the dentist but this is gold hearing it from him." They not only make you wait in those depressing waiting rooms, but they even have you follow them into a place with a nice curvy chair. You lay down and here comes this blinding light, almost like you're about to be taken to Heaven. But instead you smell metal and see this weird person get in your personal space and you allow that...it's phenomenal. I just..."

I hold my breath as I try not to laugh. Seeing Ava looking at him like he's crazy and Isabella's eyes watering, her mouth agape.

"I just hate the dentist." He snapped, and that's when I lose it. Laughing as he shook his head in disgust, but I was entertained that he went on about this. Not knowing he was going to the dentist himself.

"But, dad, if you hate the dentist then why are you making us go? Our hatred is mutual." Isabella explains, and he cocks his head as we come to a stopping light.

"But, I'm an adult. I know what's best. Like ketchup and mash potatoes mixed together."

I feel my face scrunch up in disgust, shaking my head.

"You just like the weirdest things. You like Pocky, turducken, now this? You never seem to amaze me." I say, Arthur smiling.

"You are just weird. You are one of a kind, mon amour."

"No, you are one of a kind. For sure. There's lots of spoiled bit - people like me. Lots of them!" I cry, trying to cover the fact that I almost cussed. Arthur giving me the side-eye at my slip-up.

"Yeah..lots of people." He finished, making me bite my lip as I look back out the window.

To think it's been five years since we brought these two with us and have been able to become U.S. citizens since Arthur already had one. So it worked out well for us and not to mention we are living on our own in a nice house. Just as big as my parents, thank goodness.

Work alongside my dad so that I can take over the company and Arthur happens to be the Ambassador of the whole company. Going around and I travel with him as he represents our company.

We're just doing so well for ourselves.

"Dad's?"

I find myself looking over my shoulder, Arthur looking in the overhead mirror at them.

"When are you going to tell us how you met?" Ava asked, making me blush profusely as Arthur smirked.

"It's an interesting story. We met when we were eighteen and I was his Exchange Brother." Arthur stated, Isabella frowning.

"What's an 'Exchange Brother'?"

"A rich person thing." Arthur muttered, smiling at me as he quickly looked away from my narrowed eyes." But that doesn't matter. You two won't ever be getting one of those, ever!"

"But it brought you two together. It has to work for us as well." Ava stated, making me snicker as Arthur shook his head.

"Never!" He sung, beginning to bop his shoulders as he sung 'never' over and over again.

I smiled, happy that five years ago I accepted him and his unexpected twins. Now we're a family and I couldn't ask for anything better. Yet...I don't have kids myself.

Haven't talked to Arthur yet about how I'm feeling. But ever since he became a father or found out, and you can see the change it did for him...it made me want my own child, with him too.

I know it's possible to insert two different types of sperm into one egg. It's been done before in Europe, but I wonder if it's possible here.

Because I want a child and be able to say, it's both of ours...

Interesting what comes to your mind when the love of your life happens to have kids. Then you don't...but I am only twenty-five and he's only twenty-six.

"We're here!" Arthur squealed, having me look as we were at the dentist. Hearing the twins groan as he turned off the car and got out.

Getting out too, I grabbed my phone and went inside so I can check them in. The last thing I need is for Arthur to know he's scheduled as well.

I'm not trying to have him chase me down and or do something lewd to me...not that I wouldn't mind.

Rushing inside I go to the front, seeing their names on the screen and I quickly tap them so that they don't show anymore. Once they were in I smirked, content that Arthur will be shocked out of his mind.

"Mr. Moretti?"

I look, seeing a brunette looking at me. A smirk on her face as she smiled at me and I frowned.

She wasn't ugly, it was the opposite of that. But if anyone that had a phone and internet would know I'm married with Arthur.

"What?"

"I've been watching you for some time now and I was wondering if you want to hang out with me. Have a little break from your...husband and spend some time with me."

I narrow my eyes at her, wondering if she even knew what Arthur looked like. If she did I know she'd be chasing him instead.

"Don't talk to me like that, I can get you fired." I hiss, making her giggle as I roll my eyes.

"I would love to see you-."

"William!" We both look as the door flies open. Seeing Arthur have Isabella dangling over his shoulder and Ava beside him. Looking bored as he rushed inside and all eyes were on him." I do not know what you were thinking making me have to get these two by myself! Isabella is impossible!"

I smirk, looking at the brunette as her eyes were on him now. Just another gold digger who also goes for looks.

"I had to check you guys in." I say, and he nods, still not catching on to my words." Arthur, I want to introduce you to someone."

He grins, walking beside me as I nod towards the girl. Her cheeks red in embarrassment and he frowns at her.

"What's wrong? William what is this?"

"This woman tried flirting with me even though she knew I was with you." I say, and he chuckles.

"I would flirt with you if you were with me too. No harm no foul! As long as you stayed true to me, I don't care who flirts with you. I mean...I do...but it comes to a certain point... You know?" He smiled, looking at the girl as she was blushing out of her mind.

"Dad!" Isabella cried, Arthur smiling as he walked away. Having me content that she now knows her place at least.

I wasn't sure if he truly cared or not or if he was putting up a front. But I know that he cares when some girl flirts with me. Thank goodness a guy hasn't done that.

Arthur though...both sexes seem to want him.

Every time they flirt with him he either doesn't care or he really doesn't notice. It's odd but at least we're both true to one another.

"Arthur Martin? Ava and Isabella Martin?"

Arthur flinches, looking over at the woman as she smiled at us.

"Why did you say my name?"

"You have a dentist appointment...along with you kids."

He puts on a tight smile, looking at me as I try not to laugh. Watching as he stood and narrowed his eyes at me.

"Je vais te chercher quand nous rentrons à la maison." ( I will get you when we get home. ) He whispers, rushing off with the two as I smile in content.

"Je ne peux pas attendre!" ( Can't wait! )
