24H | SEVENTEEN
Rumi closed the trunk and dusted her hands. "Gomawo." Rumi smiled patting the intern's head, who was on short side. The kid shyly bowed towards her before getting inside the car. "Yah...he's not a kid you know." Yeri said looking at her. Rumi grinned. "Ara but he's cute like one. All of them are." Rumi laughed shaking her head.
Yeri tsked. "Will you be okay?" She asked nodding towards the car. "They really had messed that day if not for you." She said. Rumi nodded. "They did but it's okay. Everybody makes mistakes. But they really managed it well, instead of panicking they quickly thought of solution. And after that they did really well, all I did was loiter here and there while they managed everything." Rumi reasoned with smile on her face. Yeri knitted her eyebrows before they rose in question. This is unusual. Normally she would have ton load of complaints over a small issue, how come she being an angel today? Rumi suddenly giggled. "These kids are so cute you know? Jaewooni gave me candies that day." Yeri made a face. Mwo? Is she really that happy for couple of candies?
"Molla! If you need help, give a call." Yeri said and left. Rumi watched her walk away. "What's up her ass?" She muttered and climbed in the driver's seat. "Are you guys ready?" Rumi asked putting on the seat belt.
"De!" The kids answered making Rumi chuckle as she pulled out of the parking lot. "Have you guys double checked everything?" Rumi asked looking at the interns through rear-view mirror. "We have, team jangnim." Aerum, one of the interns replied. "Ah? Team-jangnim." Rumi hummed glancing at Aerum through the mirror. "We are really sorry about day before yesterday." Rumi smiled. "Thank you for helping us out that day."
"Well, aren't team leaders supposed to help their teammates, if not then what are they here for?" Rumi said. "Everybody makes mistakes; what is important is that we learn from them. And you guys really did well. If I was in your place I would have had a mental breakdown instead of coming up with a solution." Rumi said making them all chuckle.
"As if team jangnim." Soojin another intern commented laughing. "We have seen you work. You are always cautious and prepared for everything. You also do all the work assigned to Miss Slacker." Soojin said with little scoff. "Yah!" Aerum slapped her hand. "Well, somebody got to do the job." Rumi glanced at them and chuckled. "And Soojin-ah, its fine to say this in front of me but don't do it in front of others okay?" Rumi said looking at her. "De...team jangnim." Soojin nodded with a pout.
Rumi chuckled at her cuteness when suddenly her phone rang. "Hmm nugu?" Rumi questioned checking the caller id. It was Hyun. "Aish, this guy and his timing." Rumi muttered trying to open earbuds case. Jaewoon who was sitting in passenger's seat came to her aid. "Thank you." Rumi smiled placing the earbuds in her ear. "Eo, Hyun-ah." Rumi answered.
A scoff was heard before he spoke. "Eodiya? And why haven't you been picking up my calls?"
"On my way to site. And I've been busy. What about you where have you been? I haven't seen you for days?" Rumi asked.
"You would have known if you picked up my calls." Rumi rolled her eyes. "How have been things around there? Any progress?" Rumi glanced at ears present in the car. "Nothing much. They are still trying to figure it out. What about you? You are disappearing a quite lot."
"I'm at the agency." Rumi furrowed eyebrows. "I'll explain to you after I return. Keep me updated while I'm here, okay?" Rumi hummed her mind wondering why was he there while being in middle of already assigned case. "Don't cause trouble while I'm gone." Rumi snorted. "As if fuc-" Rumi stopped herself remembering she's not alone. "Okay, bye. Take care." With that he hung. Corner of her lip lifted in annoyance. "When did he started caring about me?" She muttered.
"Team jangnim..." Rumi looked up fixing her annoyed face. "Are you and Hyun-ssi dating?" Soojin asked once again earning a light slap from Aerum. Rumi rolled her eyes. "Why does everyone keep asking me that? Aniyo. We are not dating." Rumi answered emphasizing on each word. "Really?!" Soojin asked before turning towards Aerum and slapping her shoulder.
"Eo? Mwoji?" Rumi asked glancing at the two excited ladies in the back. "Ah Aerum here has a crush on Hyun-ssi!" Soojin confessed. "Yah!" Aerum screamed covering Soojin's mouth. "Eh?" Rumi laughed at the girls. "Jinja Aerum-ah?" Rumi asked. "Uh-um. Ye..." She shyly replied. Rumi chuckled. "Aarso. We are not dating and from what I have known he's been single for a while." Rumi said making Aerum blush harder as Soojin started slapping her arm in excitement. Rumi laughed and turned to the quieter one. "What about Jaewooni? Do you have crush on someone?"
"De?" He looked up startled with sudden question. "Ah-aniyo..." He shyly replied his eyes glancing at girls in the back. Rumi smiled nodding her head.
Everything was going smoothly; the set was much larger just as the number of people on it. Seventeen was preparing to shoot for music video for their upcoming album. Rumi glanced around and nodded at one of her agents who nodded back signalling everything was clear. The security team had sent agents who were actively making sure that there will be no mishaps. After she was sure the security was clear, Rumi turned towards her interns. "These guys are quite reliable." Rumi smiled to herself crossing her arms.
"Rumi-ya..." Hoshi called jogging towards her. "Hoshi." Rumi nodded. "Are you done with your make up?" Hoshi nodded his head standing beside her. Rumi hummed as there was silence between. "Ah, I'm nervous." Hoshi suddenly said rubbing his palms together. Rumi turned towards him with eyebrows raised. "Since when you started getting nervous?" Hoshi huffed looking at her expressions. "I always get nervous." Hoshi commented. Corner of her lip lifted as she nodded her head.
"Don't worry. You did well during the practice." Rumi encouraged staring ahead. "Jinja?" Hoshi turned to look towards her. "You watched us practice?" Rumi hummed nodding her head. Hoshi smiled going back to rubbing his palms. There was silence again when Rumi felt something on her arm. She looked down at her arm and then glanced at Hoshi. "Yah what do you think you are doing?" She asked. "Eo?" Hoshi glanced at her then at his hands which were feeling her arm. "Nothing." He grinned. Rumi rolled her eyes. "Are you that nervous?" She asked making him nod his head. "Hmm and you are my personal stress ball from now on." Hoshi replied. Rumi tsked but let him be and went back to observing the set.
"Rumi-ya." Rumi hummed. "What are you doing?" He asked all while squeezing her arm.
"Don't know. Standing here while letting a strange man use me as his stress ball?"
"Aniya...Not like that." Hoshi whined making Rumi look at him. "I mean, don't you have work?" He asked. Rumi narrowed her eyes. "I'm doing it. As a team leader, it is my job to supervise and make sure everything runs smoothly." Rumi replied. "Satisfied?" Hoshi nodded his head. Rumi snorted and went back to observing. "Rumi-ya you know you remind me of our discipline teacher. Or maybe was that you?" Rumi slowly turned back to him. "Aarso, I'll shut it." Hoshi pressed his lips together looking away. "Ssh...you are suppose to console a nervous person yet here am I getting scolded." Hoshi muttered pouting away.
"Then you should've gone to someone else. I don't do consoling." Rumi commented making Hoshi snap his head towards her. "What? You heard that?" Rumi rolled her eyes. "You are standing right beside me Hoshi." "Ah maja." Hoshi nodded his head.
"Everyone! Let's begin!" PD-nim called clapping his hands for attention. "Go on then." Rumi said as Hoshi let go of her arm. Hoshi nodded taking a deep breathe. "Don't worry you'll do good." She encouraged patting his butt. "Okay." Hoshi once again nodded his head. "If I do well then treat me to dinner today!" Rumi furrowed her eyebrows. "Why would I- and he's gone." Rumi sighed watching him gather his extroverted energy by jumping around. Rumi chuckled when her eyes fell on him. She had not seen him since that day. Her cheeks turned hot as her mind wandered to memories of that day.
Rumi covered her cheeks and shook her head. Wonwoo-ssi's hair...A shy smile formed on her lips. "He looks good." She commented. "Eo?" Rumi noticed him looking around as if searching for something...someone. Rumi slowly raised her hand hoping to catch his attention.
"I heard she was here." Wonwoo muttered to himself while his eyes searched for her. "She must be her-ah." A smile took over his face when he saw her standing there, her hand in air and shy smile on her lips. Annyeong. She mouthed waving her hand. Wonwoo chuckled waving his own hand. "Annyeong." Rumi grinned at his response. Then she started pointing towards her face. Wonwoo knitted his eyebrows, what is Rumi-ssi trying to say? He squinted his eyes and read her lips. "Jalsaeng-gyeo-sseo-yo, ah jalsaengyeosseoyo!" Wonwoo nodded finally understanding what she was trying to say. "Eh?" Wonwoo ears turned red realizing she was calling him handsome. Wonwoo blushed shyly glancing at her. Rumi was already grinning back at him. "Gomawoyo." Wonwoo mouthed back. Rumi nodded giving him a thumbs up. Wonwoo chuckled at her cuteness. "Gwiyeowo."
"Nugu?" Mingyu asked looking at Wonwoo and glancing at where he was looking at. "Eo?" Wonwoo questioned quickly turning towards Mingyu. "No one. I was just talking to myself." Wonwoo reasoned. Mingyu looked at him suspiciously. "I was just muttering to myself, nothing else." Wonwoo convinced grabbing his arm and dragging him away. He turned around to get a glance at Rumi but she was busy conversing with her co-worker. Wonwoo smiled and returned back to his work.
"Ah why is he so cute?" Rumi muttered smiling at blushing Wonwoo. "Team-jangnim!" Rumi turned around to see Jaewoon running towards her. "Eo, Jaewooni. What happened?"
"The set crew was asking for you." He informed. "Okay." Rumi nodded and glance back to Wonwoo was busy conversing with Mingyu. "Then, stay here and see if anything is needed." Rumi patted his shoulder and walked away.
When Rumi returned the shoot had already began. "Wahhh..." Rumi awed watching the boys and dancers in coordination. "Bhariii..(Awesome...)" Rumi grinned crossing her arms together as she watched them make formation and glide on floor effortlessly. Powerful moves complementing their new song. "Hoshya." Rumi cheered watching him go. Suddenly a shiver went down her spine. "Eo?" Rumi turned around walked near the entrance to look outside, there was strong wind blowing outside and it was biting. "Acchanak kay zala? (What happened suddenly?)" Just then pitter-patter started. "Eh? Paus? (Rain?)" Rumi asked looking upwards, it had actually started raining. Not just rain but heavy, windy rain. "This doesn't look good..." Rumi muttered when she saw a plastic cover flying away while a woman was crying trying get the pots inside her van. "Shit." Rumi cursed and ran outside; it was food and snack that was suppose to feed staff and artist tonight; and it was being flown away by wind and rain.
"Ahjumma!" Rumi called picking the pots of food on the way. "Stay by the van! I'll pass you the pots!" Rumi shouted through the rain. Both ahjumma and Rumi managed to save the food. Both of them stood near the van, ahjumma cursing at rain while checking if the food was okay. Rumi watched the other snack truck managed to save themselves but sadly poster's and banners had flown away. The portable sitting area and plastic coverings were hardly holding themselves. "Aish, yah why are you standing in rain, come here!" The ahjumma pulled Rumi under the door of trunk. "Aigoo, otteoke?" Ahjumma sighed.
"Team-jangnim!!" Rumi saw a figure with umbrellas running towards them. "Team-jangnim!" Aerum huffed and puffed. "Are-are you okay?" Rumi nodded as Aerum handed her umbrella.
"Aerum-ah, listen we need to get everything inside." Rumi said. "Gather the crew, we'll shift the tables inside. Right side of the entrance has empty space, let's set it up there." Rumi instructed. Aerum nodded quickly pulling out her phone. "Make sure we don't disturb the shoot. Keep it down while the shift okay?" Rumi warned before turning towards ahjumma. "Ahjumma, can you bring the van near the entrance, it will be easier to transport food there." Ahjumma nodded moving on to it. Rumi then turned to the other truck, she opened the umbrellas and ran towards. "Jogiyo!" She called tapping on the window. "Park the truck near the entrance! Rain isn't stopping anytime soon!" The driver nodded getting her instructions.
"That was a hard save, team-jangnim." Soojin said from beside Rumi. The crew had finally set up the foot counter inside, nobody was starving tonight. Rumi nodded. "Eo, it was."
"Team-jangmin!" Aerum called carrying towel in her hands. "Eo, gomawo." Rumi thanked as Aerum handed towels to others. "Team-jangnim, you should change, you are all soaked." Aerum commented looking at Rumi's soaking wet shirt. Rumi looked down at it. "Let me look for change of clothes." Aerum had already ran off before Rumi could say something.
"It's raining outside?" Rumi and Soojin turned around to see Director. Both Rumi and Soojin bowed greeting him. "Did y'all brought all this inside?" He asked.
"De, I don't think the rain is stopping anytime soon." Rumi replied. "Is there any problem PD-nim?" Rumi worried asked noticing the Director out of his chair.
"Ani, ani, ani." He shook his head. "We took a break. But, you are all soaked, team-jangnim. Someone? Someone please prepare a change of clothes for team-jangnim!" He shouted instructing someone. "You'll catch a cold like this." He sighed. "Ah gomawoyo. Thank you for your hard work." He bowed thanking everyone who had helped.
"De." Rumi smiled and bowed back. "Team-jangnim." Aerum waved her hand calling Rumi over, Rumi excuse herself and made her way towards her. "Let's go. I found extra crew members t-shirts." Aerum dragged Rumi into the empty green room. "Change into this quickly." Aerum pushed the t-shirt into Rumi's hands and started plugging the hair dryer. "I couldn't find any pants though." She sighed.
"Gwenchana. They are not that soaked." Rumi replied unbuttoning her shirt. "Ah maja, Aerum-ah I left my phone outside. Can you look for it? I'll be in trouble if I miss unnie's call." Aerum nodded. "I've plugged the hair dryer, wipe your hands dry before using it." Aerum warned and left looking for her phone. Rumi nodded and looked at the dry t-shirt and her soaked pants. "Hm it's better than ajibat nothing." Rumi nodded to herself.
"What's with weather suddenly?" Seungkwan commented. "It is rain out of nowhere." He muttered as the crew was covering the artist with puffer jackets and hot packs. "True. It's gotten cold too." Dokyeom commented. "Poor crew. They went outside in that rain to bring in the food." He said looking at the food counter where the crew was covering themselves with towels. Wonwoo eyes followed his, looking around. Where did Rumi-ssi go?
"Alright everyone. Take a food break and we'll continue on the second half! The weather is cold so it's better if we have food in our stomach." The assistant director instructed. Everyone nodded and started heading towards the food counter. Wonwoo eyes still searched for her but she was nowhere to be seen, then he noticed one of co-worker of Rumi. "Jogiyo? Have you seen Rumi-ssi?" He asked the short boy. The boy looked up at him. "Ahh...I think I was team-jangnim, walking towards the green room." Wonwoo was already on it with a quick thank you.
Wonwoo made his way towards the green room, he checked the first one which seemed empty and moved on to next one across it. The door was closed so he knocked on it twice. "De.." She answered, Wonwoo smiled and walked in.
"Eo, Aerum-ah did you find it? Do I have any-Wonwoo-ssi?" Wonwoo's smiled disappeared when he noticed her wet shirt sitting on the counter and while her pants were soaking wet. "What are you doing here, Wonwoo-ssi?" Rumi smiled as Wonwoo walked towards her worriedly.
"You went out in rain." He said looking at her red nose. "Your pants are soaked Rumi-ssi, why would go out there? What if you catch a cold?!" He scolded and started removing his puffer jacket to hand it to her. Rumi stopped him. "I am fine. I just got little wet nothing big. And you need that." Rumi said pointing at the jacket. "You get cold easily." Wonwoo sighed looking at the hand that was gripping his. "You are already looking pale, Wonwoo-ssi." Rumi said smiling at him. Wonwoo huffed. "That's because of the make-up." Rumi chuckled at his annoyed face. He freed his hand and took the blow dryer. "Turn around, let me dry your hair." He said. "No, I can-" Wonwoo had already turned her around and started drying her hair.
"I can do it myself, Wonwoo-ssi." "Shush!" Wonwoo shushed her. Rumi smiled letting him be. "By the way what are you doing here? What about shoot?"
"Taking a food break." Wonwoo replied curtly, most of his attention taken by her hair. "Then shouldn't you be eating?"
"Hmm, we'll go together after I'm done." Rumi chuckled staring at his reflection in the mirror. He looks so good in that hair. "I want to touch Wonwoo-ssi hair." She blurted out without thinking. Wonwoo looked up, their eyes met in the reflection. "Afterwards." He muttered. "Huh?" Rumi blinked her eyes in question. "Afterwards, I'll let Rumi-ssi touch my hair, I still have to shoot." He answered going back to drying her hair. Rumi smiled; her hand covered her mouth to stop herself from giggling. Wonwoo glanced at her, a smile of his own forming.
"Team-jangnim I found your..." Aerum stopped noticing Wonwoo, not just him but him drying hair of her team leader. Wonwoo glanced at her and went back to blow drying. "...phone." Aerum quietly stepped in and closed the door behind her. "Eo, Aerum-ah you are here. Let me see." Rumi said glancing at Wonwoo who looked unbothered. "Did I receive any calls?" She asked extending her hand. Aerum walked towards them and placed the phone in her hand. Aerum looked at Wonwoo and then at Rumi, should I leave? She thought fidgeting with her fingers. Maybe I should. "I-"
"It's done." Wonwoo announced placing the dryer on the counter. Rumi turned towards him and smiled, "Gomawoyo." Wonwoo smiled back tucking her hair behind her ear. Mwoya? Aerum watched with her eyes wide. "Ahem." Rumi cleared her throat stepping back. "Then let's go eat hmm?" Rumi said glancing at both of them.
Aerum watched as the two walked in front of her. They would glance at each every now and then when their hands would brush against each other. What is this? Aerum covered her mouth and giggled. "Team-jangnim!" Jaewoon called making the couple look at him. "Ye." Rumi nodded before turning towards Wonwoo. "You go ahead." She said nodding towards food counter. Wonwoo glanced at Jaewoon and then at Rumi. "Aarsoyo." Wonwoo muttered, he turned towards Aerum and bowed before turning and leaving. Her team leader watched Wonwoo lovingly with a smile before turning and leaving too. Ahhhh, aren't they cute?! Aerum mentally shrieked.
Rumi had forced herself to push down the food but she seemed to have lost her appetite, her arms had suddenly gone heavy so she had found a chair and settled down there. "Why it is so cold?" She muttered shuddering. A bottle of vitamin drink was placed in front of her. "Eo?" Rumi looked up at Aerum who nodded towards Wonwoo's direction. Rumi smiled, "You both make a cute couple." Rumi snapped her head at Aerum. "Mwo? Aniya Aerum-ah." Rumi shook her head. "It's not like tha-" "Shhh, your secret is safe with me team-jangnim." Aerum giggled before running off. "Aerum-ah! Wai-" Rumi sighed unable to run behind her. "What to do?" Rumi smiled looking at the vitamin drink.
"Team-jangnim!" The director waved his hand calling her. "Ye!" Rumi replied suddenly standing up and that was not so good decision on her side. She completely lost her sight for few seconds; Rumi stood froze until her sight was back. "What was that?" She muttered dragging herself to the director. The shoot was finally done, the director was discussing further technicalities that needed to be taken care of. And all this was bouncing off Rumi's head as she was barely trying to hold herself up, good thing Soojin was beside her taking notes.
Wonwoo was happy as they were finally done, the weather was too cold for him and it was five in the morning. He happily sighed off his interview and turned to look at behind the cameras. Rumi was conversing with the director, she looked...not so good. Wonwoo squinted his eyes, she was looking pale, holding on her co-worker to stand up-right. Wonwoo noticed them finishing their conversation so he started walking towards them. "-niya, I am fine. Let's just get this over wit-" Wonwoo grabbed her arm and turned her around. "Wha-Wonwoo-ssi?" Wonwoo felt her forehead, as he suspected, she was running a fever.
"Wonwoo-ssi, what are you doing?" Rumi took his hand off. "You are running a fever." He curtly said. "It's fine. It will go awa-" "Excuse me?" He turned towards Soojin. "Is Rumi-ssi needed here?" Soojin looked up at him blinked her eyes. "Uh-ah aniyo!" She replied. "Yah, mwo aniyo. I have to-" "Then, I'll be taking Rumi-ssi away. Gomapseumnida." He bowed towards Soojin and dragged Rumi away.
"What? No! Wonwoo-ssi wait. Where are you taking me? I can't leave those kids like that." Rumi complained trying to stop him but her body was too weak to fight. Wonwoo waved at taxi, probably someone else had called it but he opened the door and gently pushed Rumi inside and got in himself. "Wonwoo-ssi..." Wonwoo ignored her as he removed his jacket and covered her with it. "They are interns." Wonwoo looked down at her, she was paler than before and was shivering; Wonwoo put his arm around her and pulled her close. "Then they can take this opportunity to learn."
