Chapter 60

24H | SEVENTEEN

Hyun glanced at Rumi who smiling down at her phone screen. "Did you find anything?" He asked turning his attention back to road. Rumi hummed before locking her phone and looking up. "Nothing yet. Do you really think we'll be able to at this point?" Hyun sighed agreeing. It was like looking for needle in haystack. "If only we could get access to that software." Hyun said turning towards Rumi who was once again busy smiling at her phone screen. "Are you even here?" He asked rolling his eyes.

"Eo? What?" She asked not even bothering to look up. The trouble in paradise didn't last for long, not even for an hour. Wonwoo had went looking her in office during lunch, not even a word just looking at him shyly waiting for her had melted away all her tantrums and complains. She was too smitten, one look from him and she would lay down her world for him. The couple didn't get to spent much time together but they made most of it when they did. Though Wonwoo had busy schedule he still managed to visit Rumi and Youngjae for dinner; sometimes he would get so tired that he would end spending the night there. Rumi smiled to herself thinking about waking to Wonwoo cuddling in between her arms. Ahh I miss him already! She mentally cried.

"I asked are you even listening to me?" Hyun repeated his words this time raising his voice. "Yeah, yeah I am listening." Rumi replied not able to budge that smile off her face. "Huh, your mind is always somewhere or should I say on someone?" Hyun commented glancing at her. "I've been noticing things lately?" Rumi furrowed her eyebrows. "Things?" She raised her eyebrow at him. "Your closeness with those bo-" "Oh I'm not having this conversation with you again. How many times has this been? I told you-"

"What is going on between you and Wonwoo-ssi?" Rumi paused. She leaned back in her seat and looked away. "What about me and him?" Hyun snorted. "You don't think I have noticed those secret meet ups? Your sudden disappearance in evenings?" Rumi rolled her eyes not bothering to deny or confirm anything. "Rumi do you even know what you are getting yourself into? Have you really thought about this? The consequences of your decision? Do you know how reckless this is? Have you told him about everything? Who are you, what are you doing in this company, what exactly you do for living? Have you?" Rumi didn't answer him, she just kept staring ahead. Hyun sighed. "You could get in trouble with agency if they even get a sniff of this."

"Haven't I already?" Rumi let out a bitter chuckle. "Even if I don't do anything, I will always end up getting blamed. So, I don't really fucking care about anything they do anymore." Hyun shook his head. "You and I both know that you do. I don't understand why are you being reckless when you know how this is going to end up?" Hyun parked the car pulling the brakes. He turned towards her. She was already removing her seatbelt. "Rumi, dating a celebrity, that too your own client is-" Rumi slammed the door shut cutting him off.

"Me dating a celebrity or anyone is none of agency's or your business. This is my own personal matter so I will really appreciate if you stop putting your nose in my life." Her words were polite but the look on her face was clearly warning him off. Hyun sighed. "But Rumi listen to me o-"

"Rumi-ssi!" A cheery voice made them snap their head towards it. It was Wonwoo on back porch of the house waving his hand at Rumi. Hyun glanced back to Rumi whose face lit up with smile, she waved back as excitedly as he had. She then turned towards Hyun her smile disappearing. "I hope you heard me clearly." She said and walked away not giving him a second glance.

Hyun opened his mouth to call out her name but his voice died down in his throat as he watched the two lovers run towards each other and meet in middle. Hyun watched them lovingly smile at each other as Rumi leaned up on her toes and fixed Wonwoo's dishevelled hair. She said something making him laugh and take her hand in his. "They are not even trying to hide it." Hyun said to himself. Wonwoo leaned down whispered something in Rumi's ear making her blush. Hyun's hand clenched the stirring wheel, "I've never seen her..." He trailed off watching the couple. "Why him? She could date anyone but why him? Doesn't she know how troublesome it will be?" He asked himself and then sighed at his own thoughts. "Stop it Hyun-ah. Stop pretending you are worried about her when you are just jealous. Accept it, you wish it was you by her side." Hyun muttered to himself. "She looks happy." He said looking at her beaming smile, his own lips formed a smile. "That's enough, isn't it?" He smiled.

"Why are you arriving just now?" Wonwoo pouted playing her fingers. Rumi smiled and pulled her hand back; getting too close in public would be troublesome. "I've been here since morning. Just went around with Hyun to look for something." Rumi explained pointing at car she get off from. He glanced at car, Hyun climbed off and looked up. Wonwoo bowed towards him in greeting. Hyun bowed back glanced at Rumi and quietly left. Wonwoo turned towards Rumi who had an unreadable expression on her face. A frown formed on his face, "Why is Rumi-ssi always around Hyun-ssi?" He asked making her snap her head towards him. "Ye? Aniyo! It's not like that. We are not always together. I just asked him to dri-wait a second." Rumi scanned his expression. "Are you jealous?" A snort left his mouth at that. "Are you?" Rumi laughed playfully poking his arm.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes and grabbed hold of her hand again. "What do you think? Noona is always surrounded by handsome guys, be it Hyun-ssi or Gu Hwa-ssi." He whispered pulling her closer. "Wonwoo-ssi..." Rumi looked around trying to get out of his grip but sighed failing to do so. "It is true." She said. "I am always around handsome guys." She whispered gazing into his eyes. "So handsome..." Wonwoo bit his lip from smiling. "You are doing it again." Her eyes focusing on his lips. As if daring her Wonwoo licked his lips, her eyes darken as they glanced up at his. "The why don't you do it for m-"

"Yah!" Both of them jump apart, so unnaturally that the intruder looked at them worried. "Mwo? Mwo? What happened?" Hoshi asked glancing at the pair who had their back turned to each other. Rumi awkwardly laughed and shook her head at Hoshi. "I thought you guys saw a snake or something." Hoshi said walking towards them. "Not a snake but a rat." Wonwoo who heard her comment let out a snicker. "Yah, where were you?" Hoshi asked his hands on waist. "Ka? Bayko ahes majhi tula sagla sangyla. (Why? Are you my wife to tell you everything?)" Rumi snorted. "Mwo?" Hoshi furrowed his eyebrows. "You weren't even picking up my calls, nor returning my texts." Rumi shook her head, laughing at her own thoughts, he really looked like the wife scolding her husband. "Yah, are you laughing?"

"No, no. What is it? Why were you looking for me?" Rumi asked. "Nothing I didn't see you around that's why." Rumi rolled her eyes. "Eo, but Jina-ssi was-" "Jina?" Rumi snapped her at him. "Why were you talking with her? You know her?" Hoshi was taken aback at her sudden questions. "What? Isn't she your co-worker and she was on set few times before too? I was just asking around for you." Hoshi answered them still confused.

Rumi sighed, "No need to look for me like this. You, stay away from her or anyone who I work with." She warned. Both Hoshi and Wonwoo looked at her in question. "Do hear me?" She asked earning a hesitant nod from him. "Okay then." Rumi glanced at Wonwoo, "I'll go see what does she want." Rumi muttered more to herself and left. Hoshi watched her leave, dumbfounded he turned towards Wonwoo. "What was that?" Wonwoo shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe...she's jealous." Wonwoo stared at him. "What? She doesn't want me to talking with ot-yah! Eodiga?! Wait, I am coming with you!"

"Ha manda manus, yala sangitla ahe tari aiknar nai. (This dumb guy, I have warned him yet he doesn't listen.)" Rumi pressed key card on the door unlocking it. Currently they were on trip for shoot of another GOSE episode, the location was far more prettier than earlier one, traditional setting, hanok styled rooms and mostly importantly there was no mess of miss booking this time but still there was one problem which she knew was going to be pain in the ass. "Kiti he bags, ithech settle honar ahe ka hi? (So many bags, is she thinking of settling down here?)" Rumi murmured making way through the bags.

"Eo? You are here?" There was it, the problem lying on middle of the bed as if she owns it. Luck was never on side of Rumi's when it comes to things like this. There were so many people here but somehow she ended up sharing room with this rich brat. "Where were you?" Bayko number two, Rumi thought mentally rolling her eyes. "What happened?" She asked getting straight to point. "Ah? The shower's not working." Jina replied still not bothering to look up. Rumi pinched bridge of her nose and took a deep breathe. "Jina-ssi you have to contact room service for things like this." Rumi calmly said. "Do it for me."

Madar- Rumi stopped herself and took another few breathe. Okay, calm down. Just for two days Rukmani, ajun don divas fakta. Rumi consoled herself and picked up the intercom ready to dial- wait let me check it first. She place the phone down and walked towards the shower room. She scanned the knobs; the middle knob was on right so she pushed it to left and turned the tap. Just as she had thought, the shower was working just fine. Hearing the water running the Princess followed Rumi, "It works just fine." Rumi gritted through her teeth.

"Really? See, it was a good decision to call you." Rumi turned around in disbelief. "Now, if you don't mind, can you leave I need to take shower." Rumi rolled her eyes and stepped aside giving her way in. "Leave the room." Jina added. "What?" Rumi furrowed her eyebrows. "I get uncomfortable with people around when I'm showering." Rumi threw her head back in frustration. Is she being real for now? This wasn't her personal room! "Fuck Rukmani ajun don divas kashi rahanar ahes hichya barobar? (Fuck Rukmani how are you gonna handle two more days with her?)" She groaned before glancing at Jina who raised her eyebrow in question. "Arasseoyo. I'll leave."

"Can you do this?" Rumi asked holding up the clipboard towards Jina who rolled her eyes snatching it from her hands and walking off. "Ahh, I have a bad feeling about this." Rumi said watching her trot away. "Isn't it better to let her do it, you have other things to look after." Hyun said joining her side. Rumi sighed. "I do, but I fear that I would have to do much more than now. Ahh forget it. How are things there?" Rumi asked nodding towards the tent set up beside the camera crew. Hyun glanced towards it, "Good. Captain's here." Rumi turned towards him with furrowed eyebrows. "Why's he here? Wasn't he supposed to be in Jeju?" Hyun shrugged his shoulders in response. Rumi's mouth formed a thin line before she too shrugged her shoulders, it's none of my business. "But what are you doing here?" She asked glancing at Hyun.

"Keeping an eye on you." Hyun replied earning a look for her. "Kidding, there was nothing else for me to do." Rumi hummed. "So, what are they doing today?" He asked nodding towards the chaotic boys. Once again they were talking over each other creating chaos. Hyun scrunched his face; they were too loud making him feel bad for the sound director. "Aigoo." He sighed as Rumi chuckled at his reaction. "Loser has to sleep in tent tonight." Rumi commented. "And they are at each other's neck because of that?" Hyun asked raising his eyebrow in disbelief. Rumi laughed nodding her head. Hyun just sighed shaking his head. He heard someone call for him. "Eo!" He patted Rumi's arm and left.

Rumi smiled watching Dokyeom collapse in defeat. Poor guy has to spent the night in tent alone. "Jebal! Jebal! I don't want to!" He cried on his knees as his members laughed at his misery. "I don't want to stay there alone!" After some more crying and laughing it was decided that Joshua will share the tent with him since he was too scared. Rumi chuckled and stepped out of the way since all games were done and now they were starting to prepare for dinner. Rumi walked back to where props and other things were stored, she had Jina looked after it but you never know with her- "What the-!" Rumi was suddenly grabbed from behind and pushed into corner. "Wonwoo-ssi!" Rumi whisper-shouted her fist almost hitting his face. Wonwoo gulped blinking at the fist in front of his eyes. Instead of fist he receive a light slap on his chest. "You scared me!"

Wonwoo laughed. "Sorry." He apologised pulling Rumi closer by her waist. "Wonwoo-ssi!" She pushed against his chest while looking around. "What are you doing? Your mic-" "It's off." Wonwoo cut her off. Rumi let out a sigh glancing up at him, though they were in shadowy corner not easy to spot still it was dangerous. "Nobody's around, noona." Wonwoo whispered making her somewhat relax. "Someone can walk in on us, like Hoshi." Rumi said in hushed tone as her hand slowly moved up and went around his back of neck.

"Forget about that idiot." Wonwoo rolled his eyes. "That dumb guy, do you know he thought you were jealous that's why you scolded him earlier." Rumi snorted at that. "As if." Rumi said her fingers grazing through his hair. It was ticklish but soothing. "So, why did noona scold him for?" Rumi smiled her finger moving and tracing his ear which had turned red.

"It was for his own good." Rumi replied. "That guy, he's too naïve. I don't want him getting in trouble. He goes around looking for me like this when we haven't even known each other for long. He can't do that with anyone, you don't know what intentions that person might have towards him. And it's not just him, it's for all of you. Don't go around trusting anyone." Rumi warned. "Especially you Wonwoo-ssi." Rumi said poking his cheek.

"Me? When did I do that?"

"Hmm, haven't you?" Rumi raised her eyebrow. "Who offers to drive a stranger home? Then goes in their apartment alone, helps them treat their wound." Wonwoo smiled at that. "You won't know what their intentions are?"

"Isn't it too late for that?" Wonwoo said. "That stranger has already trapped me. And I don't think I want to get out of it." Rumi bit her lip. "Rather there's no escape from this trap." Rumi whispered leaning in, Wonwoo's eyes fluttered close leaning in but instead of feeling a soft pair of lips he felt her whisper. "I think someone's coming this way." Wonwoo snapped open his eyes. Someone indeed was coming their way. They stared at each other before Rumi grabbed his hand and dashed pulling him along.

Both of them laughed, gazing at each other. "It's been too long since I've ran like this." Wonwoo commented leaning against the wall. "Lazy bum." Rumi teased chuckling at his little pout. "We almost got caught." Wonwoo said looking at their joined hands. Rumi smiled, "That's because Wonwoo-ssi was being too loud." A naughty smirk formed on face, once again he pulled Rumi towards him making her crash into his chest. "Then noona should've silenced me." He whispered glancing down at her lips. Rumi smiled leaning in closer, "Should I?" Once again Wonwoo closed his eyes waiting for their lips to unite. "Mm?" Wonwoo opened his eyes to see Rumi grinning at him. "Mhmhm hmhmh." Wonwoo murmured through his pinched lips.

"What? Wonwoo-ssi asked for my help." Rumi grinned. Wonwoo narrowed his eyes making her let out a small laugh. "Arasseoyo." She laughed letting go of his lips. "Noona..!" He whined his cheeks turning redder, Rumi laughed as his embarrassed self buried his face in her neck. "You always do this. You always tease me like this. From the start you've been doing this." Rumi chuckled stroking his sides in console. "Aigoo, aigoo noonaga mianhae (Noona is sorry.)" Rumi patted his back as one comforting a crying child. Wonwoo tsked at her words, she was still teasing him. Rumi smiled pulling back and cupping his face in her palms. She giggled at his little pout. "Are you upset?" Wonwoo huffed looking away. "Arasseo, noona will try not to tease you." She smiled before placing a little peck on his nose. A shy smile formed on Wonwoo's lips. "Now go on." Rumi stepped back. "You shouldn't be out of sight for too long." Wonwoo pouted but listened to his noona well.

Rumi snorted going through the photos Girjanandini had sent, "This little bitch was complaining about travelling now look at her." Rumi mumbled putting spoonful of rice in her mouth. Currently she was in security tent hiding away from her co-workers who were enjoying drinks. Today's shoot was done so staff was sitting out enjoying themselves, as soon as Rumi heard about drinks she had ran away. She can't be getting drunk on duty.

"Yah, have you heard?" Rumi glanced up two of her fellow agents entering the tent. "Heard what?" Other one asked unaware of her presence. "Captain Gu Hwa is being reassigned." Rumi raised her eyebrow at that. Reassigned? What does that supposed to mean? Is he leaving this case? "What? In middle of it like this?"

"Hmm. But that's not it." He shook his head. "I've heard they are assigning that guy." Other one turned around, "What guy...?" He noticed Rumi sitting there so he bowed his head in respect. "That one who got in fight with Ms. Troublemaker." The guy's laughter soon died when he also noticed her watching them with narrowed eyes. "Ah sunbaenim." He hurriedly bowed his head. "I didn't see y-"

"Where did you hear this...?" She asked staring him down, poor guy looked anywhere but at her. "I-uh- it's just rumours sunbaenim-" "I asked where?" Both of them stood straight in attention at her tone. "I went for evaluation yesterday, so I heard people talking there." He replied hands behind his back and eyes staring straight. Rumi knitted her eyebrows; they won't do it knowing that I am here. Rumi put down her spoon and let out a sign. They won't. She repeated to herself. "Sunbaenim-" Rumi stood up making him shut his mouth. She quietly picked up her dinner plate and walked out.

She dumped the plastic meal plate in garbage bin. "I need to talk to Gu Hwa. He must know the truth." Rumi muttered to herself as she made her way to hotel room. "Gu Hwa won't walk out, not after all this time. He's not that of idiot is he? Pan jar he kharach asla tar...(But what if it's true...)" Rumi shook her head. "Nai, nai. It can't be." Rumi mumbled pressing her key card and opening the door. "There she is." Rumi looked up to see Jina smiling at her, she was about to ask her what happened when the figure on the sofa turned around to look at her. "Yah where were yo-"

"What are you doing here?" Rumi cut Hoshi off storming towards the couch. "Hoshi-nim came looking for Rumi-ssi." She glared at Jina, who innocently smiled at her. "I was looking for you. I didn't see you during dinner and you weren't there with others-" "Get up." She cut him off again. "Mwo?"

"Get up. Let's talk outside." She grabbed his arm pulling him up and started dragging him outside. "Yah. What's wrong?" Rumi continued to drag him until they were away from her room and from people's eye. "Are you fucking crazy?!" She snapped aggressively letting of his hand. Hoshi looked up at her in surprise. "What the fuck were you doing there? Haven't I-" She paused trying to calm herself. "Haven't I warned you to stay away from her?" She said little softly this time.

"What I was just looking for yo-"

"Then use your damn phone Hoshi! Why do you need to go looking for me in my room?! Why the fuck would you go inside with her alone?!" She screamed aggressively pointing ather room's direction. "Because you don't pick up your damn phone!" Hoshi screamed back, he had enough of her screaming at him for no reason at all. What wrong did he do? "And why the fuck you are screaming at me for? I was just there, she asked me to sit in because you were supposed to be returning. I don't get it, why do you want me to stay away from her?"

"Because I said so!" Rumi snapped. "Stop screaming at me, whose anger are you taking out on me-" "Nobody's anger I am taking out on you. I'm just annoyed with your dumb self which doesn't understand a fucking word I say. What-what was so urgent that you went looking for me? No, I don't get it here, why the fuck you are always looking for me? If it's not your stupid calls out of nowhere and then there's your texts spamming my phone, I don't get to read important messages because those! It's fucking annoying!"

"M-mwo?" Hoshi looked at her, his voice broken. Rumi glared at him, she was out of her mind, yes totally out her mind to be screaming at him like this. She knew that but her mouth had no control right now. "Annoying you say? Is that what it is?" Hoshi let out a bitter chuckle. "I thought I was your friend, I thought you were lonely and missed home that's why-ha! You are right I am dumb! Here I thought you took me as your friend but no! You were just tolerating me..." Hoshi laughed though his eyes hold no laughter. "Geure." He nodded. "I will stay away and not annoy you." He said meeting her eyes. "Hoshi-" "Sorry for being such an annoyance." He gave her a last look and left.

"Ani Hoshi-ya." Rumi called running behind him. It was too late, her stupid mouth had went off yet once again. "Fuck!" She screamed at herself in anger. She buried her face in her hand and let out string of curses at herself. "Noona?" Rumi snapped her head up, Wonwoo was standing in front her his expression clearly saying he had heard everything. "I'm sorry." Rumi sighed her shoulders dropping in shame and guilt. Wonwoo pulled her in hug as she buried her face in his chest. "I swear I didn't mean those things. I was out of my mind; I don't know why I said those things. Wonwoo-ssi I swear I really didn't mean t-" "Shhh...it's okay." Wonwoo patting her head consoling her. "I know. I know you meant well." Wonwoo whispered. "It's okay. Give him some time, right now he is too hurt to listen to you. Just give him some time."

After some soothing words and pats Rumi had finally calm down. Wonwoo had asked her to return to her room and give it a night. She had dejectedly nodded and returned back her room. Rumi thought she had calm down but looking at the Jina nonchalantly laying on bed made her lose it again. Rumi stomped towards her, "Yah." She called making Jina look up at her. "What do you think you are doing?" Jina raised her eyebrow and glanced at the bed. "Laying on bed-"

"If you think I don't know what you are trying to do here then think twice." Rumi cut her off. "Just because I'm playing along your games doesn't mean I let you do anything you want. Keep your little hobby out of here. I don't fucking care whose daughter you are or how fucking powerful your daddy is." Rumi leaned down making Jina push back in bed post. "If you ever try to get this close to him or any of the boys-" She leaned in closer to her ear. "I'm going to rip you apart piece by piece." She whispered making Jina gulp in fear. Rumi straightened up her eyes looking down at Jina like a predator watching it's prey. "Be a good girl, hmm?" She warned and left the room again.

Jina sat there motionless. Her heart rapidly beating against her chest. What had just happened? "What the fuck?" She said glancing at the door. "Who the fuck she thinks she is threatening me like?!" She glared. "You fucking bitch!" She screamed throwing a pillow at door in anger.
