24H | SEVENTEEN

Rumi leaned back in her chair, fingers tapping away at her desk. "Ah!" She exclaimed turning to look at the culprit who had smack at back of her head. "Unnie. Good morning." She greeted grinning at her. "Eo?" Misoo furrowed her eyebrows, "Mwoji? You are grinning instead of throwing curses at me today?" Misoo asked making way to her cabin. Rumi snorted rolling towards her. "I was trying something different today. Either way you are not gonna stop hitting me." Rumi shrugged her shoulders rolling inside her cabin as Misoo opened the door.

Misoo glanced at her, she looked unusually happy today. "What is it?" Misoo asked removing her overcoat and hanging it on her chair. "What?" Rumi asked looking up at her. Misoo furrowed her eyebrows, something definitely happened. "Where did you disappeared yesterday after the interview?" Rumi shrugged her shoulders scratching at the plaster on her hand. "Damn, this is really irritating. When are they going to take this off?" She muttered. "Helloo..." Misoo snapped her fingers trying to get her attention. "I am speaking to you Rumi Raikar." Rumi glanced up at her. "You know, you've been acting weird these days. I have been meaning to ask you. That day too you disappeared without a word. I had to hear it from other staff that you left. Do you how worried I was? You were injured and gone like that? If it hadn't been your little boyfriend then I would've filed a missing complaint."

Rumi rolled her eyes, "Am I a kid or what to go missing? Unnie, you don't have to worry about me. I just ran to hospital real-quick. Either way I would've be no help with this broken piece." She replied nodding towards her hand. "Doc suggested I should rest so l listened to him." Misoo narrowed her eyes, Rumi listening to someone that's new. "Mwo? Mwo? Why are you looking at me like that?" Rumi asked rolling back ready to avoid any attacks. "You cannot attack the injured Unnie. That's cowardly." Misoo scoffed. "If you're that injured then you should've rested more." She retorted settling down in her chair. "Anyways, we've finalized the candidate. He should be joining soon; I want you to train him."

"Eh?" Rumi snap her head at Misoo. "Wae? Ask someone else. Why me? I don't want to." She whined rolling her chair around heading straight to door. "I have been doing enough babysitting don't wanna add more to list." She commented throwing a glare at Misoo who let out a sigh. "Yah, it's not like I'm purposely doing this. I am doing it for your sake. You don't have to handle other things other then supervising him. He has enough experience, just until he adapts to surrounding." Misoo explained. Rumi stared at her. "Shireo." She said and rolled out of her cabin. It was not like expressing her disagreement was going to stop Misoo. She is still going to hand over the newbie to her. Ahh at times like this she really missed being on field.

"Just few more days and I will be out of this chair for good." Rumi muttered to herself glancing around her. "I'm so not gonna miss this." She said staring at the computer screen, the calendar filled with post-it notes and scheduler laying beside the keyboard. A head peek from above the divider, "Yah are you resigning or something?" Na-ra asked making Rumi almost jump back in fright. "Motherhell! What happened to you?" Rumi asked pushing Na-ra's glasses away. "Wahhh...they are darker than your love life." Rumi commented looking at her dark circles.

"Yah!" Na-ra slapped her hand away. "Stop cursing my already cursed life and tell me you are not leaving!" Na-ra asked leaning over and grabbing Rumi's shirt. "If you are then think twice because I'm not letting you leave!" She exclaimed shaking her. "I can't take anymore of this! Yeri will be gone for how long I don't know and that little bitch left too! Everything is mess! You know what I haven't left this building since yesterday!" Rumi nodded taking off her grip. "Yeah, you kinda smell right now." She replied covering her nose. Na-ra scoffed, "You are to blame! You all are to blame! Unnie!" She changed her target from Rumi to Misoo who had walked out her cabin.

"What the hell?" Misoo jumped startled with sudden noise. "What happened? Yah have you been here all this time?" Misoo asked. "YES!" Na-ra snapped. Both Misoo and Rumi cringed at her loud voice. "Ah, aarso. Good work." Misoo nodded. "Don't worry new employee will be joining soon and yeah Yeri is coming back tomorrow." Misoo answered her unasked question. "And what about her?" Na-ra pointed towards Rumi who turned to her in surprise. "What about me?"

"She's talking about resigning!"

"EH!" Both Rumi and Misoo exclaimed. "Yah what are you talking about?!"

"What-when did I say that?!" Rumi asked looking at Na-ra. "You didn't but implied so." Rumi looked at her disbelief, since when she was watching her for. "Unnie, don't listen to her. She's talking nonsense. Yah! You go home." Rumi said doing a shooing motion with her hand. "I really do hope so Rumi Raikar." Misoo's stern voice had Rumi freezing in her chair. "I'm not letting you go either way." She warned. "Yes! Me too!" Na-ra said joining their team leader.

"Haha de team jangnim." Rumi awkwardly laughed nodding her head. I really do wish that when everything is done, I could just disappear without trace or else I don't know what would these women will do to me. Rumi shuddered just at thought of that. Ha, now I just have to wait until they finally crack the nut then we'll easily identify the moles, report to company and then I'll be finally free from this case. After that I'll confess about everything to Wonwoo-ssi. "Hmm." Rumi nodded to herself. "I can do it." She muttered to herself.

"Ani! I can't do this!" Rumi exclaimed in disagreement. "Unnie wae? Why me?" Rumi glared at Misoo and her husband who were sitting across her. "Exactly! Why her?" Her husband questioned pointing at her. Rumi wanted bit his accusing hand off. "Yah, you stay out of this." Rumi said throwing the balled-up tissue at him. "See! This is her behaviour and you want her to go to Aera's parent-teacher's meeting?"

"Then do you have anyone else in mind?!" Misoo snapped at her husband. "I can't attend it leaving all this behind, we already at shorthand and they have clearly mentioned that both parents are need to be present when none of us are able to!" Misoo screamed in frustration. "I know but her really?" Her husband again used his pointing finger. "Yes her. Do you know someone that Aera is comfortable with? Someone who is readily available to help you?" Her husband looked away.

"Excuse me I'm also not readily available to help you." Rumi intervened. "Yes you are." Misoo snapped at her this time. "Wha-" "You won't be able do anything for while with your broken arm. It is because of that we are shorthanded right now; you know that right?"

"This is ridiculous. Who said I won't be able to do anything?! I can do anything right now! Just say it, one broken arm cannot stop me!" Rumi declared straightening up. "Eo, eo. I can vouch, she can do anything with one hand tied." Her husband added. "Can you peel an orange then?" Both Rumi and her husband stared at each other. "Yeobo that is little-" "You shut up! I can vouch for her you say. How long do you know her for huh?!" Both Rumi and her husband looked away avoiding eye contact. "Just help me out this once eo? I won't ask for anything else after this." Misoo begged taking Rumi's hand in hers.

"But unnie, how am I supposed to? I don't know anything, not even which grade Aera is studying in." Rumi sighed. "And they said both parents right? Where are you going to find a stand-in father then?" She asked. "Right, that's another obstacle..." Misoo sighed burying head in her palms. "Why don't we just give her teacher a call-" "Your little boyfriend!" Misoo suddenly exclaimed. "Boyfriend? You have a boyfriend?" Her husband asked in disbelief. "Aissiba-yah what's wrong with me having a boyfriend huh? And unnie Hyun wouldn't do, he's busy too." Rumi said.

"Hyun? Since when he became your boyfriend?"

"Busy? Yah, ask him at least. I'm sure he'll make time for you."

"He is not." Rumi said glancing towards her husband and then at Misoo. "Unnie come on he's busy. You can't make people do that for you when you also can't do the same." Misoo sighed in frustration. "Come on you can give her teacher a call and explain your situation like your husband is suggesting." Misoo sighed again. "Let's do that hmm? It's better this way. We can visit her school later and talk to her teacher hmm?" Her husband said hugging her as Misoo leaned on him for comfort. "Stop stressing about everything. I know you are worried about Aera but doing this won't help her too." Misoo nodded as her husband cupped her face in his palms. "Don't worry. I'll call her teacher and explain everything okay?" Misoo nodded her head again. Her husband smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Are you done yet?" Her flat voice was not to so flat on parent couple's ears. "Wae? Are you jealous?" Misoo taunted hugging her husband. "Eo! I'm jealous! I could be home right now in my warm bed but here I'm watching this ugly ass man and you." Rumi said picking up her jacket and putting her one arm through. "At least you are not bad at being a husband." Rumi commented standing up. "Then I'll be off." She waved and left the café finally heading home to her warm bed. "I just wish to spent the rest of my days peacefully." She muttered looking up at the darkening sky.

Just she had intended, rest of the days as she put it were going peacefully, rather too peacefully causing a strange fear and discomfort in her. The agency was able to confirm the doubt regarding the working of software with help of Han Minhee and were further working on identifying the moles. Information about idols schedules was leaked daily on that software. Shutting down the software didn't like option currently so security team did best on preventing any mishaps. Problem was to irradicate the mole, the company wanted this to be done in discreet, without causing uproar in the work environment. It was easier to catch the culprit red handed like they have been doing in past months but to be discreet about it? It was like waste of time and risky in Rumi's words. They have been doing this for almost a year now, working under a disguise, identify the moles, reporting it to management which resulted in company removing the person. Now the company still wanted them to continue with this even when the software was able to produce them a list of culprits breaching their security.

It's not like Rumi thinking otherwise was going to change the method company had chosen. In fact, somehow it was peaceful. Rumi was able to continue her daily life just like she have been for past months. But her same hopeful wish had somehow started to cause discomfort in her life. The discomfort caused due to her lying, Rumi was practically lying through teeth every single day. Be it with her co-workers or the idols cum friends or Wonwoo-ssi. It was not like she hadn't been such situation before, where she had to keep up her disguise for long period of time. The issue was the attachment. Rumi had gotten emotional attached to these people which was making it harder for her to keep up with lies.

"Who was it?" Wonwoo questioned leaning his chin on her shoulder. "Huh?" Rumi locked her phone screen. "A friend." Lie. She had once again lied to his face. It wasn't a friend but her fellow agent informing about another employee they had identified. Rumi turned around putting on a smile. "So, is this the place you wanted to bring me to?" Rumi asked putting her arms on his shoulders and interlocking her fingers behind his neck. Wonwoo grinned, "De. This is the place." Rumi chuckled at his big grin. They were currently in basement of some apartment building Wonwoo had brought her to. A place he wanted to show. "So, a parking lot huh?" Rumi asked teasingly.

Wonwoo laughed. "Aniyo. Let's go. I'll show you." Rumi laughed unlocking her arms moving to help him carry the bags. "Are you sure? You just had your cast removed." Wonwoo asked glanced at her once injured hand. "It's all healed now." Rumi replied while putting on show for him, using the bag as weights to do curl ups. Wonwoo chuckled shaking his head at her act. "By the what is all this?" Rumi questioned as both climbed into the elevator. "Some stuff." Wonwoo replied earning a flat look from her. He let out a laugh, "You'll know when we reach there." He added.

"So mysterious." Rumi commented.

"Ani noona is just too impatient." He retorted.

"That I am." She replied making him laugh again. The elevator made a ding sound as the doors opened. Wonwoo stepped out Rumi following behind. He started walking down the neat hallway; Rumi followed along taking in the surrounding. They passed by a door and then came to stop at another opposite of it. Wonwoo glanced behind at her a smile on his face, making her smile back. Rumi patiently waited while Wonwoo typed in the passcode. The beep sound filled the silence following with click the door opened, Wonwoo turned around extending his hand towards her. Rumi smiled taking it as both of them stepped inside. Wonwoo guided her through darkness placing the bags in his hands on the floor he switched on the lights.

Rumi blinked adjusting to sudden brightness. She glanced around the modern styled looking living room with a big couch sitting right in the middle. Few boxes placed here and there, waiting to be unpacked. "What do you think?" She felt Wonwoo standing behind her. "Your new place?" Wonwoo slipped his arms around her waist hugging her from back. "Hmm our place." Rumi turned around to face. "What?" Wonwoo let out a chuckle at her expressions. "I mean I want this to be our place. I had bought it long ago but hadn't thought of moving in." Wonwoo explained. "I'm not asking noona to move in with me well, I just thought we could have our own little place where we could come to hide away from the rest of the world. Just you and me in our little home."

Rumi pressed her lips together; happiness was out of the par but the guilt was weighing down her. "Wonwoo-ya..." She whispered cupping his cheek. Her emotions, words were choking her, suffocating her. The way his eyes were looking down at her with so much love, care-no I can't. Rumi looked away, she can't look him in eye, she doesn't deserve this, none of this.

"Noona, do you not like it? Is it too fast?" Rumi shook her head refusing to meet his eye. "Noona?" Wonwoo lightly grabbed her chin turned it so she was facing him. "Are you crying because you're too happy?" He asked with a teasing smile suiting his lips. Rumi stared at him flatly before both burst out in chuckles. "Well, whatever it is crying or not I hope you like it." Wonwoo said engulfing her in hug. "I do." Rumi replied burying herself in his arms.

"But, isn't this place too big to be called our little home?" Wonwoo rolled his eyes laughing at her comment. "Then should I look for another place?" Wonwoo asked. "Ani." Rumi pulled back looking up at him. "Araso-araso." He laughed earning a smack. "By the way, what are we doing now? Are we decorating this place?" Rumi asked sounding excited. Wonwoo hummed nodding his head, "Well I hoping so. Do you want to?" Rumi grinned nodding her head eagerly. "Then let's begin!" He announced as the couple started unpacking the boxes and decorating their little home.

"So many books." Rumi commented while arranging them on the self. "I bet you've read them all." Wonwoo smiled and pipped a yes from across the room. "No wonder you use all those big words." She muttered smiling to herself. "Big words?" Wonwoo whispered in her ears almost startling her. "When did you come here?" Rumi questioned, "Hm big words. You tend to speak like that sometimes, I just nod along even though I don't understand a thing." She confessed with a guilty grin. Wonwoo narrowed his eyes poking her sides. "Ah stop!" Rumi laughed smacking his hands. Wonwoo giggled pulling her close, Rumi looked at him. The naughty gaze of his and those sneaky hands. "What are you doing?" She asked grabbing his hands. "Nothing." He innocently replied. Rumi narrowed her eyes, "I'm hungry." She said pushing him away. Wonwoo chuckled following her to kitchen.

"What do you want to eat?" Wonwoo asked opening food delivery app in his phone. "Ramyeon." Wonwoo looked up to see her waving the ramyeon packets she had found. Wonwoo smiled, "Ramyeon it is." He replied putting his phone away. The couple began to cook their dinner for tonight. "Wonwoo-ssi?" Wonwoo turned around just to get ramyeon pack smacked on his head. "Ack." He groaned rubbing his forehead. "Noona...why would you do that for?" Rumi cocked her head to side, "I thought it was the new way of breaking the noodles?" She said innocently but the teasing smile on her lips was not so innocent. "Noona!" Wonwoo flushed red looking away as Rumi continued to tease him by trying to smack the packet on his head.

"I'll take care of the dishes." Wonwoo said picking up the copper pot and their bowls. Rumi snatched the bowls from his hands. "We'll take care of the dishes." Rumi corrected walking towards the sink. Wonwoo sighed following her, "Okay, you wash. I wipe." Rumi hummed and turning on the tap and began to scrub the bowl when a sneaky pair of hands found themselves trailing down on hers, "Wonwoo-ssi what are you doing now?" Rumi asked washing the bowl under the tap. "Helping noona." He whispered his fingers gripping on hers. "Really?" Wonwoo hummed nustling his nose in her neck. "Really." He whispered placing a kiss on her neck. Rumi leaned back into him with a sigh, the hand gripping hers switch off the tap and in swift movement turned her around to face him. "Maybe we should do the dishes later." He said his wet fingers tightly gripping on her waist. "Hmm hm...we should." She breathed out glanced down his lips which didn't waste anytime to crash down on hers.

Fast, wet, and steamy as two bodies moved against each other. It didn't take much time for Rumi to pull out her claws as she pushed Wonwoo, his back hitting the counter top all while she continued to devour his lips. Wonwoo groaned not taking it lightly, his hand slipped down and squeezed her plump flesh. Rumi smirked against his lips, always the innocent looking ones. She pulled back to looked at him, the innocent little kitten was all gone. Rumi removed the glasses sitting on his nose. "That's more like it." She smirked before pulling him in again.

Wonwoo hummed lifting her up as she locked her legs around his waist. Impatient hands trailed down his back, under his shirt desperate for warmth. Wonwoo let out a gasp when her teeth found his sensitive ears. "Noona..." He groaned squeezing her thigh. This won't do. He thought and started walking towards the bedroom. He somehow managed to open the door and walked straight to bed. Wonwoo leaned over pushing Rumi down on the it.

"Ack!!" A thud following Rumi's yelp in pain made Wonwoo quickly back away and look for lights. Wonwoo turned around to see Rumi sitting on bed, just on bed holding her back with a sour look on her face. "Jeon Wonwoo." She glared at him. Wonwoo pressed his lips together and looked away trying to hold in his laughter. "Seriously?!"

"M-mianhae. I thought I-I had unpacked it." Wonwoo answered covering his mouth.

"You clearly didn't!" She exclaimed pointing towards the mattress laying on the floor still in it's plastic covering. Wonwoo snickered looking away. "Stop laughing will you?" Rumi pouted holding her back. "Damn it! It almost broke my back." She muttered getting up. Wonwoo laughed walking towards her cooing. "Aww mianhae, I really thought I had done." Wonwoo apologised rubbing her back, Rumi scoffed playfully glaring at him. "Let's unpack it together?" He asked. Rumi huffed pushing him away.

"Let's unpack it together." She mocked walking towards the mattress. "After breaking my back!" She scolded lifting it up. Wonwoo laughed joining her.

"I'm sorry." He apologized again finally placing the mattress on the bed, putting on bedsheets, pillows. Rumi scoffed before plopping down on the bed with a sigh. She laid back on it, "Ahh, it's soft." She smiled closing her eyes as the soft mattress welcomed her. "Noona?" Rumi felt the bed dip on her sides while a shadow cast over her. She peeked open her eye to see Wonwoo hovering over her, his shirt gone displaying his pale toned torso. "Should we continue?" He asked with a naughty smirk on his lips.
