Chapter 133
Chosen Mate of the Beastmen Empire by Lewis Reed
Chapter 133 Nyx was truly angry. She had only come back to retrieve a bracelet she had forgotten, bent instead, the found Sextation plucking his own scales.
She suddenly understood why his wounds had been taking so long, to heal.
Nyx strode quickly toward Seafarion, her gaze locked onto him. She tried to understand what on earth was yong, through his mind.
Confronted by the enraged Nyx, Seafarionâs thoughts vanished. Instinctively, he tried to hide the scale behind his back, beat it did nothing to conceal what he had doneâhis guilty eyes darted nervously.
Nyx took several deep breaths, forcing down her anger.
Looking at Seafarion, she mellowed down. âAre you still under a lot of pressure lately? Are you feeling too andout is that why youâre doing this?â
Anxiety manifests differently in different peopleâsome lose their appetite and struggle with sleep, while others become irritable and aggressive, It wasnât completely unthinkable for Seafarion, who struggled with low selfâesteem, to harm himself when faced with emotional turmoil.
Nyxâs sincere concern made Seafarion feel deeply ashamed. He thought that he shouldnât have deceived her.
âItâs not because of anxiety,â Seafarion said hoarsely. âI just wanted to keep you here a little longer. I didnât want you to leave for Taboris so soon.â
Even knowing he had done something wrong, that he would surely be scolded, and perhaps even pushed away, he still chose to confess the truth.
Nyx was puzzled. âWhy?â
âBecause I want to go to Taboris with you, but I canât find the time right now.â
Nyx was momentarily stunned. She never would have imagined that Seafarion would go to such extreme lengths for a reason so simpleâit almost sounded absurd, âWhy didnât you just tell me?â Nyx asked.
âWhy didnât you ask me?â Confronted with her questioning, Seafarion lowered his head deeply.
After a long silence, he finally spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. It was unclear whether he was asking Nyx or doubting himself. âIf I donât pay a price, can I really make you stay?â
All his life, Seafarion had been certain of one thingâeverything came at a price. The more desirable something was, the higher the cost.
He was a successful businessman, and in the past few decades of his life, there was hardly anything he couldnât obtain.
But when it came to Nyx, he had no idea what kind of price he needed to pay to earn her affection.
âDuring the time I was injured, your gaze was finally on me,â said Seafarion. To him, this was a kind of positive reinforcement.
If enduring the pain of tearing off his own scales could bring him the attention and care of the one he loved, then, there was nothing he couldnât endure.

Since they met, Seafarion had always been considerate of her, catering to her preferences and silently offering her convenience and care. Even by his own transactional logic, he had more than earned her sincerity in return.
Nyx continued, âYou donât have to make things so hard for yourself. Just say it outright, and Iâll wait for you. Iâll go to Taboris with you.â
Upon hearing this, Seafarion trembled violently and snapped his head up.
Nyx looked serious. âIâm a little mad right now, so I donât want to talk to you for the time being.â
With that cold declaration of war, she turned and ran.
If Seafarion had lied to her in any other way, she wouldnât have been this angry. But he had deliberately hurt himself. Nyx thought he needed to reflect on that.
âNo, donât go, please.â Panicked, Seafarion reached out to grab Nyx, but his hands grasped only air.
In his desperation, he momentarily lost control of his body and fell from his wheelchair, hitting the ground hard.
The once dignified richest Seafarion in the Empire was now a broken, disheveled mess, propping himself up weakly as he watched the small femaleâs figure disappearâlike a stray dog left behind.
Nyx wasnât a person without temperâshe was truly upset this time.
When Coleman invited her to try on outfits, she was still in a foul mood. She tried to hide it, but, being mature and sophisticated, Coleman saw through her instantly.
âSomething on your mind today?â Coleman asked gently while styling her hair into a playful updo. âMaybe I can help.
Nyx shook her head lightly. Despite being angry, she didnât want to expose Seafarionâs affairs to others or listen to their judgments of him.
Seeing her reluctance, Coleman didnât press further. Instead, he pulled out a meticulously designed mermaid dress.
The silverâwhite fabric was silky smooth to the touch, a comfort to hold. But the moment Nyx received it, her mind drifted back to Seafarion, and her frustration deepened.
Coleman observed her reaction thoughtfully.
So that foolish boy Seafarion must have done something to upset her.
After some thought, Coleman decided to help. âSpeaking of which, Seafarion hasnât come by for a fitting in a while.
âEver since that attack on you, heâs been beside himself with worry. He was so anxious that he started shedding scales, thought he looked ugly, and refused to get new clothes made.
âHeâs been like this since childhoodâalways so insecure.â
Nyx froze. She thought, âSeafarion shedding scales from stress wasnât due to work pressure, but because he was worried about me?â
She subconsciously touched the dress in her hands.
Seeing her mood soften, Coleman tactfully changed the subject, coaxing her into trying the dress on.
The fitted design accentuated her slender waist, and as she moved, the hem of the dress swayed like a flowing galaxy.

Chapter 133 Coleman hadnât designed it as a formal gown but as an everyday dress.
With it on, Nyx looked like a lively, beautiful little mermaid, Coleman nodded in satisfaction. âAbsolutely perfect.â

She had planned to return the accessories in anger, but now, recalling his desperate, pleading expression and Colemanâs words, she hesitated. She thought, âForget it. Iâll keep them.
Nyxâs anger dissipated quickly.
In just two days, she had sorted out her emotions and wasnât as upset anymore.
When she opened her Intelligent Brain and checked her chat with Seafarion, it was flooded with messages of apologiesâso overwhelming that she could almost see a desperate male behind the screen.
She ignored all those apologies and sent a new message instead.
Nyx: [Iâm leaving for Taboris now.]
Since Seafarion had gone through so much just to accompany her to Taboris, she would grant him his wish.
Traveling from Central Planet to Taboris took a full day. Halfway through, she received Seafarionâs reply: [Iâm already here waiting for you.]
âHe left ahead of time?â Nyx thought, stunned.
When she arrived in Taboris and landed, she looked around but didnât see his familiar figure, She thought, âSeafarion probably wouldnât lie to me about something like this. Maybe itâs just because there are too many people around, and he doesnât want to show up for now.â
Nyx thought for a moment, lowered her eyes, and withdrew her gaze. Suddenly, she heard someone calling her name from not far away.
