Nyx nodded repeatedly, relieved, leaning back in her chair. Theon skillfully massaged her shoulders, the pressure just right. They exchanged a few quiet words and smiled at each other.

The intimate atmosphere made Kai feel out of place. He could only stand there, his gaze following Nyx. Nyx’s attention, however, remained on the two males beside her, not giving him even a second glance.

Nyx withdrew her fingers uncomfortably. “Kai?”

This was the first time this normally cold male had touched her proactively, and it felt strange–too warm, even.

Kai snapped out of it upon hearing her voice. He had always been extreme, with intense desires. His longing for Nyx had been suppressed for so long that, when he finally touched her, he couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed.

Upon hearing this, Theon immediately shot him a hostile look. This leopard, not only was he annoying when out of control, but now that he was calm, he was even more audacious.

Kai had been circling around Nyx, trying to catch her attention these past days. Now, he wanted to take his place and protect Nyx closely.

Nyx froze. She thought for a moment and figured this might be Kai’s way of expressing gratitude to her, so she carefully spoke, “I’m not asking for anything in return for your Mental Soothing. You don’t need to feel pressured. Just do your own thing.”
