Signing the contract!
"Mr. Steele, it's time to leave."
He nodded his head and adjusted the collar of his white shirt and wore a black blazer over it before standing and heading out of the room and towards the lift with me trailing behind.
Today was a very important day for The Steele's Co. Mr. Steele was meeting the CEO of the one of most successful firms of the Industry, Mr. Allerton. If he gets the contract today then the company will be benefited with millions of profit. I had never seen Mr. Steele nervous before, heck, it was always us getting nervous by his presence, but for the first time, I saw him sweatâ Just a little. Still, he managed to carry his posture with confidence and ease.
Twenty minutes later, we were standing outside the Crystal restaurant. I adjusted my black skirt which had a slit on the left ending at my thighs. Among all the dresses which Matt has chosen for me till now, it was the comfortable one so far because of it's just above knee length and an attached brown top which didn't show much of my cleavage.
It was decent.
I took a deep breath and entered after Mr. Steele. Both of us were fully into business mood now, the events of yesterday long forgotten. The waiter showed us the way to the booth where Mr. Allerton was settled along with his PA.
Mr. Steele took a seat across Mr. Allerton with me sliding beside him, but ofcourse, at a comfortable distance. My eyes met the black eyes of Mr. Allerton who was not even bothering to hide the fact that he was openly checking me out which made me squirm in my seat, uncomfortably. He looked like he was in his late thirties. To ignore his stare, I looked at his PA who was sitting right across me with a bored look. She was pretty looking with her black hair and grey eyes, oh let's not forget that chiseled jawline.
How I wish to have such a sharp jawline.
"Hello, Mr. Allerton." Mr. Steele proceeded in his usual business tone, but something told me that he was pissed. It takes nothing to piss him off as he gets irritated very easily.
"Stop with the formalities now, Aaron. Call me Smith. I am sure after this contract we will be far from all these formalities, if you have a perfect deal for me that is." He replied with a chuckle and smirked looking at me.
"Ofcourse. I am sure no one can provide you with any better deal than what we have for you."
"What are we waiting for then? Bring it on."
The meeting began shortly with Mr. Steele explaining everything about the contract and why would it be beneficial for their company. I gave my input as and when needed and to be honest, I was really grateful for working under him because I had never seen a person speak with such confidence and passion. There was yet a lot that I had to learn from him and I was not going to let this opportunity slide.
Almost an hour and a half later, the meeting was done and both the men were shaking hands. There was a hint of relief and proud on Mr. Steele's face and a smile appeared on my lips. He definitely deserved it and much more.
Mr. Allerton's eyes once again raked me from top to bottom, almost eye raping me. I squirmed uncomfortably in my seat, trying to hide myself away, way away from him. I didn't want anything more than to just walk away from here.
"We shall take your leave now." I heard Mr. Steele speak from beside me with anger laced in his voice.
"Not before introducing me to this fine, young lady."
"She is Ms. Collins, my PA." He brought his hand forward for a shake and as much as I didn't want my hand anywhere near his, I had to shake hands with him because I didn't want him to end the contract with Mr. Steele because of my misbehavior.
"I didn't catch your name, Ms. Collins." He said, looking straight in my eyes, not leaving my hand.
"Sienna." I mumbled, not really wanting him to know my name and tried to pull my hand away, but he didn't let go.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman."
"Let's go." With that said, Mr. Steele pulled my hand away from his rough hold, ready to leave when his heavy voice stopped us.
"I expect the contract papers at my apartment, Aaron."
"Will do."
"With Ms. Collins." This was it for Mr. Steele as he pushed me back and stood before me hiding me from his pervertish stare.
"I don't think that's any of your concern as to with whom I send the papers, Mr. Allerton. It's the contract that you have to worry about which will reach you by tonight."
"That's where you are wrong, Aaron. The contract isn't signed yet and if the contract doesn't reach as per my requirements, I don't think there's going to be any deal between our companies."
"Then cancel the fucking deal."
My eyes widened at his bold statement and I touched his arm for his attention. He turned and looked at me and his eyes immediately softened. It was clear from his tone that he did saw him eyeing me and one thing which I had gathered by now was, he was possessive over me. That maybe my imagination, but that was what I had observed.
"It's okay, I'll go. I only have to deliver him the contract, right?" I spoke, softly.
I didn't want him to end this contract because of me. That would just make me feel guilty, especially after knowing how much that contract meant to him.
I mean, what was the worse that could happen, right?
"You are not going anywhere." He said with a tone of finalisation as his blue orbs stared right at my hazel ones. I shut my mouth immediately knowing completely well that I was not going to win this argument.
"Think again, Aaron. Are you really going to cancel this deal because of such a small matter? It's just a simple requirement." He spoke, smugly.
Mr. Steele was about to protest when I spoke again, "Don't let me come in your way to success, Mr. Steele. It's just delivering of contract, I am sure I can do it."
"You don't understand, Sienna."
"What's there to understand? You are just being irrational. I will just give it to him once my office hours are done."
He was going to protest when Mr. Allerton butt in, "Listen to her, Aaron. It's a really good deal."
"Fine." With that said, he dragged me out of the restaurant. Once, we were inside the car, he looked at me with those angry eyes which made me want to piss my pants.
"If anything and I mean, if anything will happen to you, you won't hear its end from me." I nodded my head nervously and looked away.
Why was he getting so angry over a small requirement?
What exactly could go wrong?
~
I was wrong, many things could go wrong. Let's just begin with my heel getting stuck in the narrow path of the elevator, I managed to quickly took it out, thankfully. Later on, smoke emitted from my car which resulted in wasting of thirty five minutes in the garage and finally when I reached the address to his apartment, I started getting paranoid.
I felt like someone was watching me, even though there was not a single soul here except for the guard standing near the gates of the building. I pressed the elevator button and waited for it to arrive, tapping my foot nervously against the shining floor.
Ten minutes later, I was standing outside the apartment of Mr. Allerton. I pressed the bell and waited for him to open the door. I just wanted to pass the contract to him and go home, lay under my comfortable blanket with Sam by my side. I was missing my little munchkin very much.
The door soon opened and there stood Mr. Allerton in a casual blue shirt and black pants. He gave me a once over as I shifted from foot to foot. I quickly pulled my hand forward giving him the contract as he chuckled, slightly.
"What kind of a man would I be, if I won't call you in?"
"No, I h-have to go." My nervous self stuttered as he smirked widely.
"Atleast have water, Ms. Collins or I would just feel guilty." He insisted and I started having second thoughts.
Stop, Sienna! Don't overthink, he is just showing manners. My inner self scolded myself.
"I-I really h-have to go."
"Please, I insist."
"Ok."
â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢
Erm, hola?
Ps: One of you told me that I should let the audience know that this is all just fiction and you shouldn't adopt Aaron's behaviour in real life. So, that's that.
Bye.
