Trapped In Love ✓

Making a new friend!

To say that he was arrogant would be an understatement of the year. He was self-centered and fired workers even for the smallest of mistakes— like a sneeze during a meeting. I don't understand why all the CEO's have to be so cliché? Why do they have to be all arrogant and egoistic, can't they be kind and caring?

Or was I just in bad luck?

After handing him his coffee, I realised I didn't know what to do. Should I stand there and wait for his next order or should I go outside and then wait for his next order? I had no idea how this PA thing worked. All I knew was that PAs have to fetch coffee for the boss, stay by their side and work more than others and if that would be the case then I would be handing in my resignation letter sooner than ever as it would mean no time to take care of Sam.

The opportunity was good, but the timing was bad.

Today, Matt was there for him, but from tomorrow, his job was going to start and as for Matt's idea of bringing in Sam with me, I didn't think Mr. Steele would allow. He as it was, walked around with an I -am -angry -don't -piss -me -off attitude and I didn't want to be his next target as I don't really do well with scoldings.

I had never been scolded in my entire life other than 'don't steal a cookie' scold from my mom. At school also, I was a golden child, whom other children made fun of for completing their work on time and being a teacher's puppet, but that was nothing to be embarrassed of because at the end of the day, those good remarks and good grades would help you succeed in life.

Now, back to reality. What should I do? In case you were wondering, I was still standing in front of my boss, who was working on his laptop and hadn't even spared me a glance since accepting his coffee. Is this how the PA thing worked? Where you stand till they give you something to do? Somebody at least give me a small hint!

After standing there for few more minutes, he finally spoke, "Fax this files and be quick because I don't tolerate lazy employees, especially my PA." With that said, he went back to his work and I walked out of his office.

"Hey Cathie, do you know where is the fax machine?" I asked, politely.

"Of course! It's on the thirty ninth floor." I gave her a last polite smile and got into the elevator, pressing the thirty ninth numbered button. Seriously, why does this company have so many floors? On top of that, how can they even remember which work is done on what floor?

My small brain could never.

After reaching the floor I had to ask many people for the directions towards the fax room. At last I was able to locate and quickly faxed all the files which took me good thirty minutes and let us all emphasize on the word files because there were about fifteen files and all of them were thick.

Holding all the files at once because honestly, it's a very difficult task to do, I turned around and collided with a body. I fell with an 'oomph' and let out a small 'Ouch'. All of the files were scattered on the floor and I sighed looking at them.

This is going to take long.

"I am so sorry! I was just in a hurry and I didn't see you, I know you must be thinking that can't you see a human standing there, but seriously, I didn't and- Oh my gosh! How silly of me! Here, take my hand." I realized that I was still sitting on the floor, so I embarrassingly took his hand and got up. I began to grab all the files quickly because I didn't want to see Mr. Steele angry. He helped me get all my files and held half of them.

"Let me help you."

"No, urm, it's uh okay." Told you I am not good with talking.

The guy in front of me had brown eyes, black hair which were styled into spike and a charming personality. He was well built and was definitely an eye candy. But guys like him are not made for me. They will like me, love me, but once they will come to know that I have a kid, they'll leave me, no matter if the child is mine or adopted. I have never let Sam think even for once that he is adopted and I don't want others to think that too. I don't know what I would answer once he grows up and would question me about his father.

That was something I was really afraid of. I didn't want him to leave me or love me less after knowing that I was not his real mother. Sometimes, these thoughts haunted me to the point where I couldn't sleep. I was brought back to reality when the brown eyed guy said, "Which floor?" I look around and realized that we were in the elevator and I was walking like a zombie all this while.

"42." I replied, shortly.

"You are the new PA?" He asked, in shock and I nodded.

"How'd you know?" I asked.

"Grapevine." He said, shrugging his shoulder.

News spread faster than air around here. Not even one hour has passed and the entire company knows about me being his PA.

"Good luck with him. He is known for his short temper and arrogance, but I know that he won't lash out on a lovely lady like you." He said and winked at me, to which all I could do was blush a shade of crimson red.

"Did you make any friends yet?" He asked and first face that popped into my mind was Cathie. She is sweet to me and makes small talk, so does that mean we are friends? Honestly, I have never made friends in the Uni. Matt was with me all the time. In school, I had many friends and was surely a bit more talkative then now. You could say that I became more reserved and started living more in my shell after Sam. I started living more for him and less for me, I started providing everything to him and by doing that, I gained happiness.

A nudge on my shoulder brought me back to reality. "Huh?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"I asked, if you had made any friends yet."

"Uh, no." I replied.

"Good. Then you'll be coming with me for lunch." I opened my mouth to protest, but he kept his finger on my lips which add more red to my cheeks and further added, "No arguments." I smiled at him and nodded in agreement. After that, he left and I took a deep breath before opening the door of Mr. Steele's office.

He was sitting in his chair, talking to someone on the phone. So, I decided to wait for him to finish his call. He was wearing black blazer and pants paired up with a white shirt. His jet black hair were perfect styled back. I am sure, girls must be falling head over heels for him, he was just too handsome.

Okay, Sienna. No such thoughts!

I didn't realise that I was staring at him until he looked at me with those piercing blue eyes. I quickly looked away and to the floor. My cheeks were burning and no, it was not blush, but embarrassment. My cheeks had the tendency to go pink when I was embarrassed or angry.

"Files." I said, keeping the files on his desk. He was still staring at me with those piercing gaze and I was starting to feel nervous. No guy has ever looked at me with that intensity before.

"Do you need anything else?" I was shocked on how strong my voice sounded. This was really new to me because just five minutes before, I was not able to form a sentence when I was with brown eyed man, whose name I forgot to ask. I don't know why he even asked me to go for lunch with him, looking at the fact none of us know each others names!

"Yes."

"What?"

"Arrange a business lunch for the two of us at the riverview restaurant."

Why does he want to go at the restaurant for a business talk when we can simply talk it out here? I don't think I am ever going to understand the CEO's logic.

"At what time, Mr. Steele?" I asked.

"Around one. And arrange a booth, not a table." I nodded and was about to leave when he spoke again, "After doing that, call Carlos & Son's Company's assistant manager and fix a meeting with their CEO, Mr. Bezos at four. Send me the finance graph of our company of past two year, then go to Mr. Ballmer, the head of the human resource department and tell him to fire Ms. Jasmine Page, who is working in his department. After doing that, arrange all the documents in the alphabetical order, the previous secretary was of no use and make it quick because we have to go for lunch at one."

I nodded and hurried out of his office.

Then I approached Cathie, a huge smile on her face which brought one on my face too.

"Hey, Sienna!" She greeted, happily.

"Hi, Cathie. Uh, can you show me the way to my cabin?"

"Ofcourse. The one right beside Mr. Steele's office is your cabin." She instructed.

"Thank You." She gave me a reassuring smile and spoke, "I know he must have given too much work, even though it is your first day, but if you need any help, just come to me. Okay?"

"Thank you so much, Cathie."

I quickly walked towards my cabin and let me tell you, it was a mess! All the papers were scattered on the floor, everything was unorganised. Looks like the previous PA actually didn't do anything.

How was I suppose to do all these tasks before one?

Get it started Sienna because you only have two hours and hella lot of work is waiting for you!

By the time the door of my cabin flew open, I was done with everything, only arranging files in the alphabetical order was left, which I was halfway through.

The brown eyed man, that I had met earlier, came in and gave me an amazing smile showing his perfect white teeth.

"Hi, beautiful!" He said and sat beside me on the floor.

"Hey."

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Arranging files. Why are you here?" I was actually quite impressed on how smooth my voice was coming and for once I was grateful that I was able to talk like a normal person.

And not like a fish gasping for water.

"Don't tell me, you forgot about lunch! I told you that you will be having lunch with me today, remember?" Now, I remembered, but I had to go with Mr. Steele.

"I am sorry, but I can't today."

"Why?" His lips twitched downwards and a frown appeared on his face.

"I have to accompany Mr. Steele. I am really sorry." I said, looking at my hands.

"Hey, don't be sorry. It's not your fault. We can always have lunch tomorrow, right?" My face lightened up on hearing him, atleast he was not hurt.

"Of course!"

"Give me your number." My eyes widened and I looked at him in shock.

"Friends exchange numbers." He said, shrugging his shoulders. I nodded, hesitantly, but gave him my number, nonetheless. I was just a bit in astonishment because no one has ever asked for my number, not even as a friend because I never thought I needed another friend, as I always had Matt with me, so this friendship and all was very new for me.

"I will call you later." I just nodded and stood up, as I was done with arranging files.

"Bye." He said, hugging me and again I was left in shock. "You know, you have to hug back." He said, still not pulling back. I nervously hugged him back and he chuckled at my nervousness.

"You are so cute. See you later, love." He flicked my nose and walked away. Just after he went, Mr. Steele entered.

"Done?" He asked, not even bothering to greet.

"I am halfway through arranging the files." There was a proud look on his face, something that told me that he was happy with my work and that made me happy to the moon.

"I'll let it go, as it is your first day today, but try and complete the work within the time assigned to you."

I nodded my head at him and just then my phone started ringing. Looking at Mr. Steele for approval, he nodded and I thanked him before picking up the phone, not even bothering to look at the id.

"Hello?"

"Hey."

"Matt? What happened?"

"Babe, Sam is missing you." My heart sank on hearing this. My baby was missing me and I couldn't go to him.

This was a first.

"Give him the phone."

"Okay." After a short pause, I heard the voice of my munchkin.

"Mommy?"

"Hey, Sammy. How you doing baby?"

"Miss mommy."

"Mumma misses you too baby. Don't trouble uncle Matt so much, okay? I will be there in no time."

"Pinky pwomise?"

"Pinky promise, baby. Now, give the phone to uncle Matt."

"Yes, babe?"

"Mattie, I am going to Riverview restaurant, bring Sam with you, okay?"

"Okay, babe. Bye!"

"Bye." I hung up and looked up, only to see Mr. Steele looking at me with questioning gaze. I totally forgot that he was standing there all this while. I ignored his gaze and said, "Let's go, Mr. Steele."

One thing was confirmed and that was, I was going to leave this job. Maybe, I will just give my resignation letter to him at the end of the day as I don't want a job, which will make me stay away from Sam. I will just find another job where they will let me bring Sam with me to work or I could just start something like work from home.

Call me stupid or whatever, but to me, mother duties came first. We could still live with a lower pay and be happy.

Sorry, Mr. Steele, but you will have to find another PA.
