Chapter 124
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
After Maddie left, Emma immediately went to Ameliaâs room and asked tentatively, âMom, why is Aunt here? Whatâs going on?â
Amelia was still in a daze. She was stunned for a moment before replying, âItâs about your grandfatherâs birthday. I forgot to tell Olivia. She came to remind me of that.â
No surprise!
Emmaâs eyes flashed with malice. her fingertips dug into her palm tightly, barely maintaining her expression to prevent herself from losing her composure.
She lowered her head to hide her eyes so that Amelia would not notice anything wrong.
All these years, she had tried her best to please Amelia and the Green family. She tried her best to be a considerate daughter and treat Amelia as her biological mother and the Green family as her family. In the end, she was still inferior to Olivia.
Why! Itâs not fair!
Emma was indignant. Her dark eyes were filled with resentment. She had done so much. She cared about Amelia and her grandparents. She called them every week. She gave them gifts every festival and often visited them.
But this was how they treated her! After more than ten years of living together, she still couldnât hold a candle to Olivia, a woman whom nobody met even now!
Emmaâs heart was filled with indignance. She hated the heartless Green family and the appearance of Olivia.
She felt that her sincerity for so many years had been in vain. The Green family was simply a bunch of jerks who were not worth her caring.
It took almost all of her willpower to suppress the anger in her heart. She forced a smile with all her energy and said in a guilty tone, âMom, itâs all my fault. I should have reminded you earlier.â
âDonât say that! My girl, how can I blame you? Itâs my mistake. I have a bad memory now. Itâs not your problem.â Amelia patted Emmaâs hand and thought to herself, âThe daughter living together is an angel whoâs better.â
Emmaâs eyes were dark. She had expected that Amelia would belittle Olivia and refuse her to come.
But she only said that she had a bad memory.
It turned out that she really planned to bring Olivia to the birthday banquet.
After all, she was not her daughter and nobody could deny this fact. Amelia did not care about her at all. Itâs her grandfatherâs birthday, so Ethan would definitely attend. If he met Olivia, he must discover the truth that she set Olivia up.
Thinking of this, Emma panicked. She could not let Ethan know that she had framed Olivia.
âMom.â Emma seemed to be implying something. âIs Olivia coming? It feels like she doesnât have any affection for the Taylor family or the Green family?â
Amelia frowned. That girl was indeed indifferent and did not have any kinship in her heart. If not for Liamâs call, she would not have come to the Taylor family.
As for the Green family, she had not even mentioned a visit. It had been almost half a year since she returned, but she had not even seen the Green family in person.
The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she became. Ameliaâs tone was a little dissatisfied.
âForget it. I donât care.â
Seeing this, Emmaâs mood became brighter. She leaned closer to Amelia and hugged her arm. âMom, itâs Oliviaâs fault for not coming, but we have to be wellâprepared so that other families wonât misunderstand us.â
She talked like she cared about Olivia, âShe probably doesnât have much. money and never knows a designer. Itâs Grandpaâs birthday two days later. She definitely wonât have time to prepare a good dress.
I still have a few gowns. Why donât I give them to her?â
âYouâre so kind, my good girl.â Amelia felt warm. The more she looked at Emma, the more she loved this considerate daughter. She raised her hand and scratched her nose. âI know youâre a good girl, but your gowns are all haute couture by international designers. They havenât been worn yet. Theyâre brand new. Itâs a waste to let her wear them.â
At this point, Amelia paused for a moment. When she thought of the scene where Olivia was wearing a white Tâshirt and black pants, she felt disgusted. âA good dress needs a good owner. Olivia doesnât know fashion. at all. Itâs a waste for her to wear those customâmade gowns. Why donât you keep them yourself?â
âBut what about Olivia?â Emma sounded worried. âI donât think she has a suitable gown. If she doesnât have one, she wonât even be able to enter the banquet. That would be so embarrassing!â
An image conjured up in Ameliaâs mind. As the masterâs granddaughter, Olivia would get blocked outside because she did not have a suitable gown.
Thatâs a joke. No, she couldnât let that happen.
Amelia said, âYou should have some old clothes over there. Let her wear your old gown.â
âAlright.â Emma nodded. âIâll get the servants to pack up a few more clothes for her selection.â
âShe must be overjoyed!â Amelia laughed. âYour wardrobe is just like a treasure island. She probably has never seen such expensive clothes before.â
With that, Amelia made a call to Olivia.
Olivia had already returned home. It was not the apartment near the school, but the Smith familyâs mansion in Evervale.
Since she had decided to take over the Smith family, she should learn to handle its businesses.
The Smith familyâs mansion had been left idle for many years. Only some maids and nannies had been living here to watch over it. Now that the new owner had arrived, the mansion seemed to get revitalized, and all the servants were smiling at her arrival.
Olivia was reclining on the sofa with her eyes lowered. Her posture was lazy. She was enjoying a rare moment of leisure.
In the spacious cloakroom, Blake was leading the servants to pick out gowns for Olivia. These clothes were all newly made by the Smith familyâs workshop. These handmade clothes were the epitome of exquisite skills and the current modern youthful style.
âMiss Olivia, how about this one? Do you like it?â Blake picked out a it vouchers modified ivory gown, with dark white stripes embroidered on it. At first look, people would think that it was a pureâcolored gown. When they got closer, they would discover the amazing embroidery.
This gown was made last year. It took five top embroiderers three years to complete the work.
Such a gown could no longer be called a dress, but a work of art, a masterpiece, and a priceless treasure.
A few years ago, the Sothebyâs had auctioned off a gown that cost an astronomical sum of 550 thousand dollars. Half a million dollars just for a gown! That gown was made by three of those five top embroiderers. Olivia leaned against the sofa. When she heard this, she causally raised her eyelids and said expressionlessly, âItâs too simple.â
âWhat about this one?â Blake picked out another one.
Olivia bent down. It was hard to tell if she was happy or angry. âNot good.â âLook at this.â Blake chose more than ten gowns. Some were traditional designs and some met current fashion trends. Every one of these clothes could make Evervaleâs socialites scream in surprise.
However, in Oliviaâs eyes, these were just ordinary clothes. She had seen these things quite often when she was young. Not a piece of them could attract her eyes.
At this moment, Olivia received a call from Amelia.
Ameliaâs tone was colored by condescension. You donât have any suitable gowns over there, right?
Emma has a few old clothes. Come here and take them later. They are all good gowns. You must be spoiled for choices when you see them. Remember, just take one. Emma is a kind girl and this is her idea. She shares them with you but you canât go too far Good gowns? Thatâs funny!
Olivia held the phone in one hand and fiddled with the ivory gown with the other. she suddenly chuckled. Thank you for your kindness, but t donât need it.â
Without waiting for Ameliaâs response, she hung up right
