Chapter 175
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
Olivia left after checking Anthonyâs pulse. She simply told Gabriel that she could treat Anthony and nothing more. Her expression was cold and indifferent.
She felt a bit tired and wanted to take a nap.
Gabriel quickly had a servant guide Olivia to the room prepared for her. Then, he went to join Peter and Tyson for dinner.
Tyson smiled. âMr. Patterson, please go ahead with your tasks. You donât need to worry about us. Weâll be fine on our own.â
With the conversation having reached this point, Gabriel didnât stay any longer. However, as he was leaving, he called the butler over and instructed her several times to ensure that the two guests were well taken care of.
Upon returning to the dining area where the couple was having lunch just now, the table was adorned with a variety of exquisite dishes. However, Lindyâs plate remained completely clean.
It was obvious that she had no mood to eat.
Gabriel sat down confidently and picked up a bowl, first sipping half the soup before raising his head to ask his wife. âWhy arenât you eating? Itâs getting cold.â
âIâm not as carefree as you! I canât eat!â Faced with her husband, Lindyâs temper finally didnât need to be restrained, and she said directly to him, âMs. Olivia is too young, she probably hasnât even graduated from college. Youâre quite audacious to let her treat Anthony.â
âWhy should I be afraid?â Grabiel started eating his meal. âRegardless of Ms. Oliviaâs skills, you should show respect to her.â
âYou donât need to tell me that.â Lindy raised an eyebrow. When had she ever been disrespectful to a guest?
No matter how unsatisfied she was with Olivia, she was still a recommendation by Berina.
Lindy possessed a certain level of refinement and would appreciate othersâ offering to help.
Gabriel shook his head, saying, âYou should be more considerate. Sheâs a young girl, and I canât keep going over there all the time. If you have some free time, visit her and chat.â
11-13 Lindyâs hand that was holding the spoon paused.
After years of marriage, they understood each other without the need for many words. Sometimes, a single glance was enough to convey their thoughts.
âIs there something special about Ms. Olivia?â Lindy asked hesitantly. With the coupleâs current status in society, there were very few people they needed to look up to. However, Gabriel had specially advised her to spend more time with Olivia.
Gabriel shook his head. âI donât know. Iâll call Berina and ask later.â
âYou donât know?â Lindy frowned deeply. She didnât understand why he wanted her to spend time with her.
Gabriel put down his cutlery, lowering his voice. âDid you notice the two people behind Ms. Olivia?â
âYou mean the two bodyguards?â
Gabriel nodded and said firmly, âYes, those two have a very strong presence. Theyâre not normal bodyguards.â
Lindyâs eyebrows twitched, and panic flashed across her eyes. âWill it be dangerous for them to move in?â
âDonât worry.â Gabriel tried to comfort her. âThose two have a unique air about them. I can tell that they have been in the military before. Theyâre not just ordinary soldiers, more likely to be special forces.â
Having reached the position of Gabriel, he possessed a certain level of insight. While others might not perceive it, he could see through things at a glance.
The two of them looked lean and not like typical bodyguards. Yet, they exuded incredible explosiveness and moved with a light, almost waterâlike step. These details indicated their martial arts skills.
In the past, people in their line of work had hired mercenaries from powerful countries, who were known for their combat skills, experience, and ability to acquire equipment.
However, those were the practices of the past.
These days, the most formidable force was the domestic special forces in their own country. They could take down a group of opponents even without the need for weapons.
However, domestic special forces were very rare. Once they retired, they 11:13 were typically assigned government roles rather than serving as private bodyguards.by.
They couldnât be found on the open market.
Hence, this made the two individuals accompanying Ms. Olivia even more remarkable.
Gabriel had discreetly inquired with his own bodyguard captain just now about how he compared to those two individuals, wanting to know who was superior.
The bodyguard captain responded that it was difficult to determine. He had hired his bodyguard caption from a foreign country at a high cost. He possessed exceptional skills and had even secured the national boxing championship.
Yet, even he couldnât assess the capabilities of those two individuals. This showed the exceptional abilities of the two individuals.
After finishing dinner, Gabriel called Berina and asked about Oliviaâs background.
Berina responded with joy, âI knew you had a discerning eye. Youâll definitely be able to tell that sheâs different. Sheâs Olivia Taylor.â
Gabriel had heard this name before and found it familiar, but he couldnât quite recall where he had heard it before.
Berina reminded him, âSome time ago, there was quite a buzz about Olivia winning the Lasker Award.â
Gabriel finally understood and exclaimed. âSheâs quite young and has already received such high recognition, But sheâs a biologist. Can she treat illnesses?â
âDo you know the renowned doctor Isaac Smith? She is his granddaughter, and her medical skills have been instilled in her from a young age.â
âIsaac Smith?â Gabriel was indeed aware.
Even though Isaac was renowned and hailed as a miracle doctor, Gabrielâs demeanor noticeably cooled.
This was because he had taken Anthony to visit Isaac before.
Isaac couldnât cure the ailment, and Gabriel doubted if his granddaughter could.
It wasnât that Gabriel underestimated Olivia, but she wasnât widely 11:13 Billionaire recognized. Besides, she was also very young.
âCuring the illness is secondary.â Berina sighed. âThe main goal is to let you all make friends with Olivia. Didnât you just ask me about her special background?
âIâll be honest with you, her identity is genuinely unique.â
Gabriel asked, âHow unique it is?â
Berina furrowed her brow. âI canât discuss it right now. You just have to know that there are only benefits to befriending her, no disadvantages.â Gabriel didnât press further but kept his sisterâs words in mind.
Olivia took a long nap. Upon waking up, she found herself staring at the ceiling with a contented smile on her face.
She had a dream where Isaac had made her favorite burnt cheesecake. The cake was freshly baked, straight out of the oven. Before it cooled down, she couldnât resist taking a bite, which scalded her mouth. Gillian was quite alarmed and quickly brought a glass of cold water. Jarron was extremely worried, and his young face was wrinkled with concern. He resembled a protective older brother as he scolded her, âYou burnt your mouth, right? You shouldnât be in such a hurry in the future.â Isaac fetched a box of ointment and applied it to her mouth. It felt icy cool with a hint of minty fragrance.
It was a stiflingly hot summer with the relentless drone of cicadas. In those moments, Olivia had Isaac, Jarron, and Gillian with her.
However, now⦠Oliviaâs upturned smile suddenly faded as she touched her fingertips to her lips. She felt an emptiness in her stomach and she was uncomfortable.
She got up, put on her slippers, and went to the bathroom to wash her face. As she looked into the mirror at her pale and helpless reflection, she felt that she looked ugly.
She placed her hands on the corners of her mouth and tugged them up to force a smile. She reminded herself, âI have to smile!â
After getting ready, Olivia decided to go to the kitchen to cook something. In the past, she had been the best cook, and Isaac had loved her dishes. Even though she had rarely stepped into the kitchen, she would occasionally prepare a few dishes.
Now, even if she wanted to cook in the kitchen, Isaac wouldnât be able to taste her cooking.
Nevertheless, Olivia saw it as an opportunity to improve her culinary skills. She believed that when Isaac woke up, he would be able to enjoy the results of her efforts.
With a newfound sense of purpose, Olivia felt reenergized and ready to take on the days ahead.
