Chapter 32
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
Daniel didnât leave Olivia much time for speculation and went straight to the point. âYou can call me Daniel, and Iâll call you Olivia.â
Olivia silently repeated the name âDanielâ in her mind, suddenly feeling a sense of familiarity as if she had uttered it countless times before.
She blinked, suppressing the peculiar emotions that arose.
Strangely enough, ever since she got to know the father and son from the Sullivan family, she would often experience odd feelings.
However, Andrew was too adorable, so she didnât dwell on it.
Danielâs foot was still injured, and Olivia glanced at it again. While it was bruised, there didnât seem to be any swelling, so it should be nothing serious. She was about to crouch down for a closer look.
However, Daniel pulled back his foot.
He turned his head slightly, his ears reddening as if feeling shy.
âOlivia, please take a seat. Iâll handle this,â he said.
Olivia wasnât one to meddle or impose, usually preferring to leave when faced with such statements.
However, Daniel was Andrewâs father, and she cared for him more out of affection for his son.
Hence, with a hint of determination in her tone, she insisted and said, âI know a bit about medicine. Let me take a look.â
Daniel gazed at Olivia for a while, his expression gradually becoming more troubled. He felt like a breath stuck in his chest, unable to find its way out, and he couldnât seem to voice his thoughts.
He thought that Olivia had changed her attitude so quickly.
Before they mentioned Andrew, she offered politely to take him to the hospital. Upon realizing he was a responsible father, she seemed to care about his injury genuinely.
She was definitely a woman who only had her son in her eyes and no room for her husband.
Was she just worried he couldnât care for Andrew if he were injured?
Daniel was a bit flustered, watching Olivia with a gaze that seemed to emit a cool breeze.
15:20 Olivia sensed the unusual atmosphere and raised her gaze to meet his.
Daniel abruptly turned his head away with a huff, his voice turning icy. âYou donât need to bother, Ms.
Taylor.â
Why is he back to calling her Ms. Taylor? Wasnât it Olivia just a moment ago?
Olivia couldnât quite understand him, so she took a few steps back and stood up. âIn that case, Iâll leave for now.â
Daniel kept his head down, not looking at her and remaining silent.
Olivia glanced at him, then slowly retreated and left the study room.
Step by step, the sound of her footsteps receded from the door, gradually moving away.
Even the sound of footsteps on the stairs could be heard. Suddenly, Daniel sprang up from the windowsill.
It was unbelievable that the stubborn Olivia left him here all alone and walked away.
Daniel paced around the room in frustration. The sound of his footsteps on the floor created a rhythmic pattern without a trace of the pain from hitting his foot earlier.
As Olivia descended the stairs, she coincidentally met Zoe, who was returning from the garage.
âMs. Taylor.â Zoe was a bit puzzled as she did not understand why Olivia had gone upstairs.
Olivia pointed upstairs and said, âMr. Sullivan had hurt his foot.â
Zoe paused for a moment, then immediately got the medical kit and rushed upstairs with quick steps.
In the study room on the second floor, Daniel was still fuming. But he keenly heard the sound of footsteps approaching from outside.
He thought that it was Olivia.
In a swift motion, he quickly sat back on the windowsill. He lifted his bruised toes to inspect them clumsily.
There were two knocks at the door, followed by its opening.
Daniel concealed the surprise in his eyes and raised his gaze composedly. In his heart, he had a smug thought. âThis stubborn girl, I knew you cared about me.â
However, what he saw was Zoe, who stood at the room entrance.
Danielâs emotions instantly plummeted. His gaze turned chilly, showing a mix of shock, annoyance, disappointment, and a subtle trace of hidden hurt when he looked at Zoe.
Zoe was slightly taken aback by his gaze.
She wondered why Daniel looked at her like that and if she had done something wrong.
Daniel suppressed his frustration and asked, âWhy are you here?â
Zoe cautiously responded, âMs. Taylor told me you were injured and asked me to check on you.â
âOlivia told you?â
Zoe nodded vigorously.
Danielâs mood lifted again. His emotions were as changeable as the weather, instantly shifting from irritation to delight.
It was just as he thought. Olivia did care about him.
Daniel stretched his long legs and nodded regally at Zoe. He raised his chin before reverting to his usual cold demeanor. âYou may leave, I donât need your assistance.â His tone was as indifferent as ever, devoid of emotion.
Zoe had grown accustomed to Daniel.
â
aloof, In the eyes of others, Daniel had always been like this aristocratic, rarely engaging in conversations, unwilling to waste effort on trivial matters, yet demonstrating unparalleled decisiveness and precision in business.
Zoe had been with the Sullivan family for over ten years, initially serving in the old mansion. Later, when Daniel had a son, Danielâs mother, Isabella Sullivan, didnât trust anyone else and had her come along to take care of them.
As a result, Zoe deeply felt the changes in the Sullivan family. In the past, it was Danielâs father who managed the Sullivan Group. At that time, the Sullivan family was already powerful. It was one of the four prominent families in Evervale, commanding respect and prestige.
Although the Sullivan familyâs status was high in the past, it hadnât reached the point of overshadowing the other three prominent families.
It wasnât until Daniel took control of the Sullivan Group that things truly 15:20 transformed.
The Sullivan family outshone the other three families and gained international fame.
Last year, the guests and visitors were beyond compare during Isabellaâs birthday celebration at home.
Many attendees were dignitaries Zoe had only seen on televised news broadcasts.
Such prominent figures came to celebrate Isabellaâs birthday due to Daniel.
That was something that Zoe could never have imagined in the past.
Meanwhile, Olivia was sitting at downstairs. After a short while, she saw Andrew return. He came running back, carrying a small blue backpack on his back.
Although the garage wasnât far from the main entrance, Andrew had short legs, so he ran energetically.
His face was flushed, and his forehead was slightly sweaty.
He was tired from running, but when he caught sight of Olivia. His eyes up as if basking in the warm spring sun.
lit âOlivia!â Andrew dashed over, practically sticking to Oliviaâs body. He pressed his little face against her and inquired, âWhen did you arrive? Did you wait long?â
Olivia lowered her head to touch his slightly damp forehead. Then, she handed him a tissue to wipe his sweat.
Andrewâs happiness overflowed. He lifted his tiny face and gazed at Olivia with his round, sparkling eyes.
âAre you feeling hot?â Olivia took the backpack from him and then touched his jacket, finding it a bit thick. She considered taking it off, but he had just sweated, and she didnât want him to catch a cold.
âNot hot.â Andrew shook his head. Children werenât very sensitive to temperature changes, and their minds werenât focused on such matters.
He reached for his own backpack and attempted to pull the zipper halfway before stopping. With a blush on his chubby cheeks, he raised his gaze to steal a glance at Olivia.
His adorable expression melted Oliviaâs heart. She softly asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Andrew felt a bit embarrassed. He lowered his head and said in a tender voice, âI prepared a gift for you.â
With that, he took out a pink gift box from his backpack.
