Chapter 36
Billionaire’s Missing Darling
As the three of them spoke, the girl sitting in the front passenger seat behind them remained silent as if she were invisible. She only took out her phone and scrolled through it.
The other three had already gotten used to her appearance. She had never liked to talk.
Mary said the word âcountry bumpkinâ before the girl looked up.
She frowned slightly, and her usually calm eyes became impatient as if she could not hold it in anymore.
âLook at the license plate.â Her index and middle fingers tapped on the car window twice. She said, âThis is Ryanâs car.â
As soon as she finished speaking, the car fell silent.
The noisy car instantly fell silent, bringing with it an oppressive silence.
âElaine Homes.â Amidst her shock, Mary actually called the girlâs full name. âYouâre not seeing things, are you? How could it be Ryanâs car?â Elaine was already impatient. Her face was expressionless, but her voice was cold. âCanât you just check it yourself?â Mary didnât even look at such an obvious string of license plates. She only focused on the car and mocked Elaine.
If it werenât for the fact that they grew up together and had a good relationship, Elaine really wouldnât want to be with them.
They were already in their twenties, yet they still thought that they were young. Even if they could not enter the family business to help, they should at least have some basic common sense. Who could be provoked and who couldnât was the basic common sense of rich secondâgeneration and rich thirdâ
generation like them.
Mary didnât even recognize Ryanâs car.
Ryan was a special person. He was not a local in Evervale, nor was he a famous person in charge of a company. He had nothing to do with capital. In fact, he was just a professional manager hired by Olle Group to be in charge of the brand, Charm.
However, they could not afford to offend him.
Ryan was also a rich secondâgeneration, but his family was not engaged in business, but politics. He was an impressive rich secondâgeneration.
He kept a very low profile in Evervale. Very few people knew his identity, but the business families at the top were very wellâinformed. As soon as Ryan arrived in Evervale, all the big families knew about it. They reminded their juniors to restrain themselves when they went out to play in the future and not offend anyone they shouldnât offend.
Ryan did not reveal his identity. He kept an exceptionally low profile in Evervale and had never caused any trouble, just managing Charm, but no one could forget his title in the Capital City.
He was Mr. Ryan, the future heir.
He was once a figure who could shake the Capital City with a stomp of his foot.
Ryan was different from the rest of the Book family. Most of the Book family members were in politics, education, business, and political law⦠There were people from the Book family in all the industries.
The current head of the Book family was Ryanâs father, a figure who often appeared on the news behind the big boss.
There was once a rumor that he was the bossâs next successor.
When Ryan was young, he had followed the Book familyâs plan for him. He had followed the steps step by step. When he was young, he had studied hard and improved every day. Then, he got into a famous university, entered politics, and participated in the selectionâ¦
His future was no different from the future of the other Book family members. It was a smooth path.
Unfortunately, when he was 22 years old, something went wrong and he got into a serious car accident. This car accident completely destroyed his life.
He could no longer stand up!
Elaine and the others did not know the specific details, and their families were not qualified to know the inside story. They only knew that after Ryan was paralyzed for half a year, the Book family used their family power to find a reclusive famous doctor from somewhere and treat his leg.
Ryan could stand up and walk normally. However, the car accident was too serious, so there were still aftereffects though he could walk.
It was hard to tell when he walked slowly, but once he walked too fast or ran, he would limp slightly.
After Ryan stood up, he did not continue on the path that his family had planned for him. Instead, he started to manage the mall as he pleased.
The Book family also had lingering fears because of this accident. They could not bear to force him anymore and hoped that he could live the life he wanted freely. Anyway, the Book family had so many people and did not care about him alone.
His father Jake was still young. There were still a few decades left in his political career. He could give the family and son protection.
Knowing that the car was Ryanâs, Mary and the others did not dare to talk about the car anymore. Even the roundâfaced girl, who was familiar with the car brand, fell silent. After all, no matter how expensive a car was, it could be bought with money.
There were some things that could not be bought with money.
The roundâfaced girlâs name was Lola Green. The Green familyâs background was a little weaker. She was a new nouveau riche. When she was in junior high school, her family had just risen. She had suffered and lived a poor life when she was young, so she was obsessed with brands and knew all the luxury brands like the back of her hand.
Logically speaking, she would not be able to get along with Elaine and the others. However, she had a good personality and was also an expert in information. She also knew how to flatter people, so she entered the circle of four and became a sidekick.
However, although she did not dare to talk about the car, Lolaâs expression became even worse.
She turned around and glanced at Emma. Her tone was full of malice. âEmma, Miss Olivia is quite impressive. She actually managed to hook up with Ryan.â
Lola hated this kind of highâprofile women the most. They were quite beautiful and had a degree from a famous school. As mistresses, they believed they were noble. They insisted that it was true love and mocked those menâs legal wives.
After her family rose, all the women who got close to her father were these kinds of women. They even shamelessly mocked her mother for being oldâfashioned.
If Lolaâs previous attitude toward Olivia was to watch a good show and gossip, now she was disgusted.
âYouâre saying that sheâs Ryanâs mistress?â Mary, who was driving, couldnât believe it. âDidnât you say that sheâs from Ember University, a top university?â The elders in her family even praised Olivia for being able to get into Ember University with her qualifications. Olivia was a motivated and disciplined girl.
âSo what if sheâs from Ember University? Education doesnât mean character.â Lola lowered her head to look at her newlyâmade manicure. âThere are so many students in such a big school. Itâs normal for some to be outstanding and some to be awful. To be fair, Oliviaâs face is pretty. Sheâs a poor student with no power or influence. Why would Ryan give her a car and even have an assistant?â
âItâs so interesting.â Lola covered her mouth. âSheâs just a student. Why would she need an assistant?
Help her do her homework?â
Elaine pulled her gaze away from the phone and said, âRyan is not married.â
This sentence reminded everyone.
Lola turned around and glanced at Emma. The two of them said in unison, âMarriage!â
âHow lucky.â Lolaâs eyes widened. If Olivia, who was a poor student, was only fit to be Ryanâs mistress, then Olivia, who was now the eldest daughter of the Taylor family, was qualified to be his legal wife.
Even the irritable beauty, Mary, sighed. âSheâs really lucky.â
Olivia was beautiful, from a prestigious university, and had a relationship foundation with Ryan. Now that she had the Taylor family as her backing, the Book family would definitely not reject her.
As for the Taylor family, they were also happy to see the marriage alliance between the two families.
What a lucky lady!
